The competitiveness of Brazilian football is null.
These two teams have dominated everything for the last 10 years. Literally, the only years they didn’t win the Brazilian league (apart from 2024, when Botafogo actually had a better team than both of them) were because they put all their eggs in the Libertadores basket.
Brazilian football used to be very competitive, with a huge variety of winners. Today, it’s these two teams that dominate everything, and the gap is widening rather than narrowing.
Worst of all, Palmeiras is sort of the fourth-largest fanbase in the country.
I believe it’s impossible to stop this without some sort of intervention; if there’s no intervention, we’ll have another 10 years of Palmeiras and Flamengo fighting it out between themselves for the Brazilian championship and potentially the Libertadores.
Both teams have squads on a par with Europe’s top sides, whilst the rest of the league are made up of squads on par with Europe’s weaker teams. Even so, Palmeiras attracts all the best players from the youth ranks, producing a top-class player every year. Whilst Flamengo has the largest fanbase and manages to assemble squads worth millions, both clubs generate over a billion in revenue each year.
INTERVENTION NOW! FOR FAIR PLAY IN THE BRAZILIAN LEAGUE!

When we spent 10 years eating shit, that was great, wasn’t it?
Now you want an intervention, so the president’s team, which embezzles money to buy Viagra, can compete again.
Or the most indebted team in Brazil, which signed Memphis Depay and now has to pay 40 million for a semi-retired player who offers no competitive edge whatsoever, can compete again.
Or so that SAF teams like Botafogo, Cruzeiro and Vasco, which have become bankrupt assets, can compete again?

You’ve got to watch my Palmeiras and Varmengo win everything again for the next 10 years.

obviously it's bad, everyone good goes to europe
do you ever root for your team to do bad because you know europeans will come by and raid you and cuck your players from you if you win?

Palmeiras and Flamengo lost a combined total of 17 players during the last FIFA international break.

it´s totally unfair.
>>
Well it's mostly the other teams fault for having such corrupt managements that they're now cursed to be in debt for a huezillion years.
I mostly miss watching my Palmares play against any of the SP and struggle to win as these games were very balanced once, but Sao Paulo committed suicide with Casares and whoever guy who decided to fire Crespo and Corinthians simply isn't able to recover from the false advertising scam. Santos thankfully is back to being irrelevant as it always has been. Lusa is a better rivalry than them.

club world cup will only make it worse, those clubs got like 40 million from that tournament which will help them alot. many clubs outside of europe got insane money from cwc which will turn their leagues into bundesliga tier. good job infantino

>40 million from that tournament which will help them alot
Palmeiras recorded net operating and financial revenue of R$1.783 billion.
Flamengo achieved record gross revenue of R$2.089 billion in 2025, surpassing the R$2 billion mark for the first time in a single season.

Unfortunately, the problem is much bigger than 40 million.
Meanwhile, Corinthians has the second-largest fan base in the country.
Corinthians’ total gross revenue in 2025 was approximately R$ 711 million

Tbh i think its only the last 4 years they got to a really high level
>>

Over the last four years, they have dominated to an overwhelming extent.
Because for the last ten years, both have been dominating, albeit to a lesser extent.
Palmeiras’ case is even worse, because on top of that monstrous revenue, they produce good players literally every year.
Vitor Reis, Endrick, Estevão. Today in the squad you have Alan, for whom Palmeiras have already turned down 40 million dollars, and a left-back called Arthur who is apparently very good.
It’s impossible to compete.
Palmeiras had a surplus of 50 million euros, after signing Andreas Pereira, Vitor Roque...
This year they signed John Arias from the EPL; I think Wolverhampton paid 22 million euros to Fluminense and Palmeiras paid 25 million to Wolverhampton.
It’s impossible to compete.

yes, the Brasilian league is done for. the federation, the media, all the suits wants it to become La Liga slop, because it's the most marketable format. the Palmengo money machine is more important to them than having a competitive league
be happy that you got to watch Brasilian football before the dissolution of Clube dos Treze in 2013 and the eventual death of the league from 2019 onwards. that's only going to change with a huge combined effort from all fronts, which isn't going to happen
>>

Pontos Corridos/Round Robin, is the biggest psyop there is. They somehow convinced people it's """fairer""" than other formats when it's not even true. It's just to get more matches between the best teams and have a fixed numbers of matches so its easier to sell the tournament. It's all about money.

The problem is Pontos Corridos is the perfect way to funnel the top and become a two team league. The reason we had so many teams and so much variety at the top was because of the formats we used before.

Anyway, Brazilian football is done already, move on, find something else.

Sorry to inform you but Palmeiras has an even bigger name than Alan right now in Eduardo Conceição. Man City, Barça, PSG, Chelsea, are already making huge offers for him

Yeah, and there must be another five who are 12, 13, or 14.
Meanwhile, my team is signing Danielzinho.
