The nfl is a lot bigger in the world than you’d believe. The Chinese, Indians, Africans are Caribs are buying into. NBA has the height limit killing it and soccer… is boring to them even the Chinese find it boring still and the leadership kept trying to plug it for 20 years.
Brady opened china up, they saw how insanely hard nfl players worked the Chinese see you can be any height and play. Tat for the panthers was a big deal then Mendoza was being watched in the carib

The nba has bigger problems than height limits, the games are dogshit boring for 90% of them. They’re just way too long for the rate of scoring, nobody wants to watch marathons.

Football has a huge advantage in the possession limitations, they all feel much more important and each play is like an event

>>154459280

>>154459280
No we don’t. Elite qbs carry injury plagued shit teams to the playoffs consistently usually have a down year every 4. Purdy has dragged the niners to the playoffs and to playoffs wins since his rookie year. Burrow is on the edge because he keeps getting injured and is borderline a bitch off the field
>>
>>154459632
off the field Burrow is a clown but he is a baller in my book. I'm a niner fan so its hard to look at purdy totally objective since I want him to be elite, I would say he probably isn't but everything but his arm is pretty elite so there's something to say for that.

>>154460057

Rattler is right after Burrow. He and the guys in red were probably schemed up all super safe as they are so new to the NFL
>>
>>154459660
He’s elite. He will win an owl and not be carried to it. Burrow is on the edge with his contract, and lack of leadership. Purdy can carry that team without its starting te 1 and 2 wr, lt, rt and rg
>>
>>154460057

still kills me they lost that week 17 to the xehawks. Were they better and winning on every phase, yes of course but >>>If
Cmc catches that pass and then the pressure is back on the Seattle offense it would be an entirely different game.
>>
>>154460226
It’s the field being shit, constantly losing dc and ocs, injuries and it’s the nfc west. They’ll be winning owls every 4 years for the next 20 years. They’ll division is too packed. Rams have a good shot at owl
>>
>The second quirky issue is the state of quarterback play. The NFL had a slew of quarterback injuries and slumps last season, and those facts and memories seep into what we expect this year.

>Lamar Jackson has to be better, right?

>Can the Vikings maximize Kyler Murray (or boot up J.J. McCarthy)?

>When will Patrick Mahomes be ready, and can the Chiefs become elite again?

>Is Daniel Jones going to be healthy enough to lead a Colts offense that’s loaded with fun pieces?

>Will Jalen Hurts be happy and productive with this new-look Eagles offense?

>What does the Jayden Daniels comeback look like?

>Is Malik Willis ready for his close up?

>Those are just some of the quarterback dramas in front of us — there are more. I’ll just want to underscore that this position feels less certain than it usually does during this time in spring. I know I regularly refer to the NFL as a reshuffle league, but analysis and projection feels a little more challenging when we’re not positive about the quarterbacks.
>>
>>154460303
Qbs suck compared to where they were 20 years ago and defenses are so hamstrung by rules and not hitting them you get cans lasting forever being fan favorites. Half the starting qbs would not survive in 2006. The rules would cripple them in product ion

That impressive feat was built on his ability to attack opposing defenses with strikes on throws targeted outside the numbers (93.6 grade; first), and his surgical ability to pick apart man coverages (93.8 grade; first).
And they attached pic related titled: Throws targeted outside the numbers (2025)

14. Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears (76.9)
>When the lights shone brightest late in the game, it was Caleb Williams’ time to make magic happen. The second-year quarterback was beyond impressive in the fourth quarter and overtime, tying for the most big-time throws (15) during the witching hour. Most notably, his game-winning 46-yard touchdown strike in overtime to DJ Moore in Week 16. The highest-graded throw of the year, and one of just 29 throws to receive a +2 grade in PFF history.

>>
>>154460991
Pff is dog shit bad. No context, garbage time stats, it’s shit. Usually you can use passer rating, then rushing yards, then fumbles lost and sacks and points per drive to figure out a qb.

Andrew luck for instance generated around 2 turnovers per game from fumbles, ints and bad hand offs because he was a sperg but people act like he was some wasted talent.
>>
Mahomes only lost last season because the chargers where running bountygate levels of schemes on the chiefs. A healthy mahomes beats that chargers team and wins the rest of their games. With that spot in the playoffs we would beat the pats in Boston and wait to face the nix less broncos in the conference. Mahomes would then lay pipe onto the seahawks and dominate darnold to a commanding victory and win his 5th.
All this could've happened if the league would've cracked down on bounty schemes that are used to take out the best players throughout the league. They did this with weapons worthy and rice and finished with mahomes.
>>
>>154461256
>vague positive notes for both
still doesn't explain a 12 point grade difference. Love had worse overall stats in 2025 and did shit like pic related in the clutch, while Caleb repeatedly turned into a 4th quarter assassin.

For rest of NFCN, Kyler Murray and Goff both made pic related "Adjusted completion percentage leaders"

They didn't have a blurb for Kyler Murray but for Goff they had:
12. Jared Goff, Detroit Lions (77.7)
>Without his former offensive coordinator Ben Johnson calling the offense in 2025, Goff rose to the occasion and continued to perform his duties with surgical accuracy. We rarely see the 10-year veteran deliver poorly placed throws, as just 14.7% of his passes were charted as uncatchable and inaccurate, the second-lowest mark in the NFL. That fact alone makes life easier on his receivers, resulting in Goff standing as the only passer to produce an adjusted completion percentage above 80%.
And they attached pic related

Just call him Bo "Ankles" Nix

Jan 18, 2026 tweet by Jesse Morse, M.D. (@DrJesseMorse)

OK, so after reviewing all the different plays that Bo Nix could have injured his right ankle on, here’s the conclusion I’ve come to.

He originally injured his right ankle in 2021, requiring surgery a couple days later. While specifics were never released, my suspicion is he probably had a fracture that Dr. Norman Waldrop (likely) fixed.

...

my suspicion is the play that it occurred on caused a significant amount of stress to the right ankle and right fibula bone. This then caused a fracture in a previously fractured bone or an area where the plate and or screws were not able to contain the stress, thereby causing a new fracture.

There’s a reason why one of my favorite phrases as it pertains to sports injuries, is that “the greatest predictor of future injury is past injury.” I wholeheartedly believe this statement applies to this situation, and if Nix hadn’t had previous issues with this ankle in the past, the play in question wouldn’t have led to a new fracture.

Darnold Top5 in NFL in throwing outside the numbers

Compare to back when Darnold was a draft prospect

Sam Darnold
>In summary: Could stick a deep throw to the right sideline at an elite level.

>Sam Darnold presented a mixed bag. Directionally, he slightly favored his right, especially outside the numbers.

>His accuracy was most impressive compared to FBS average in the Deep Middle (+17%) and Deep Right Outside (+15%), but he attempted three times as many throws (52 attempts vs. 17) to that Deep Right Outside area.

Josh Allen Top5 in NFL when throwing outside the numbers

Allen was in same class as Darnold and he was pretty good throwing right but not good at throwing left. When throwing right he was better than Darnold (green are the areas Allen was better, red are the areas Darnold was better)

Also, Darnold and Allen were the two best QBs in that class when it came to how much they threw it outside the numbers

Josh Allen
>In summary: Works sideline and deep the most.

>Josh Allen gets labeled as an inaccurate QB whose arm strength and mobility still entice teams to think about his potential. But the reality is that Allen’s throw locations were often to some of the hardest places to complete passes on the field, as his 51% Target Share outside the numbers was 12% more than the next QB (Darnold, 39%).

>Correspondingly, he was averse to throwing in the middle and left middle areas, ranking last in both.

>He also led in the percentage of his throws that were deep (22%) and intermediate (27%), while having the least amount of easy throws behind the LOS.

>After diving deep into accuracy by ball location, a lot of the narratives from this draft season actually hold up pretty well. Allen was, in fact, asked to make harder throws than everyone else.

One question that helps separate good evaluations from great ones: What happens when the pocket breaks down?

...

Then the pocket collapses, and we see a different player.

Mendoza’s Positive Play Rate plummets from 66% to 33% under pressure—a 33 percentage point drop, the second-largest in the dataset.

The foundation is elite. The developmental questions are processing speed and poise under pressure. If an NFL staff can scheme quick-game answers to pressure, Mendoza’s clean pocket dominance could translate at a high level. If his pressure woes continue, the 33 percentage-point Positive% collapse becomes a weekly problem against NFL pass rushes.

His Bust Rate (the percentage of plays losing at least one expected point) nearly quadrupled when he was under pressure, jumping from 9% to 34%.

His 20% Sack Rate under pressure ranked in the bottom third of all QBs studied.

Math nitpick here: it says the DROP is the second largest, but he was already coming from the highest starting point. How does 33% stack up against the other 29 QBs? We get that info for the Bust and Sack rate, but not the raw pressure stat. It’s suspicious.

When under pressure, his Catchable% under pressure *is* 85%—the best mark across all 29 quarterbacks in the dataset. The ball is still arriving in catchable locations.

What degrades under pressure is his precise accuracy and timing:

Under pressure, his On-Target% drops 21 percentage points

Under pressure, his completion rate falls 29 percentage points

This suggests that when under pressure, his throws are arriving late or in tighter windows rather than on the receiver in stride.

These two were good under pressure:

1) Cade Klubnik (4thR to Jets)
>is one of the most accurate clean pocket passers in the dataset—his 84% On-Target% ranks 4th across all 29 QBs, although he didn’t push it down the field much. He pairs that with the lowest INT+Sack rate under pressure (12.7%) of any QB studied, despite facing the heaviest pressure volume in the class.

2) Garrett Nussmeier (7thR to Chiefs)
>is the only 2026 QB whose Total Points per 100 plays actually improved under pressure (13 clean 20 pressured), and his Positive Play Rate decline under pressure is the smallest measured across all 29 QBs.

These three were like Mendoza, struggled under pressure:

Ty Simpson
>has a clean pocket profile that justifies his projection as the second QB off the board — he protects the football in a clean environment as well as anyone. Under pressure, that profile inverts: his IQR collapses 52.3 points and his Points Earned turns negative

Carson Beck (3rdR to Cards)
>was a productive clean pocket passer—6th in Positive Play Rate (57%)—but his under-pressure numbers are a red flag. His 6% INT rate under pressure is the highest across five draft classes, and nearly 1 in 4 pressured plays ended in a sack or turnover

Drew Allar (3rdR to Steelers)
>His passing performance under pressure was also among the worst

Indiana went on a spending spree in the nill spending spree. It spent over 21 million on players. They probably spent the most and things are still being unearthed. Half the starting offense was Mercd over. They spent more than Texas. Whenever they went against a decent team they had to rely on their high priced line and rb to open up the passing game.

Or in tldr form
Indiana was using professionals vs college athletes why do you think the rb was 25.

1) less than 20% of their throws were uncatchable passes

2) under pressure, they were sacked less than 20% of the time

3) under pressure, they threw a big time throw more than 7% of the time

I'm surprised how well he did and surprised the Giants didn't keep Daboll to develop him (might all fall apart under OC Matt Nagy). You look at his college career and he became a better and better and better passer every year

Ran 500 every year in college boom immediately does the same in NFL, had 24 TDs in 12 games (pass + rush) as a rookie
Home in Jersey, he only had one bad game as everyone sucks vs the Vikings (co-#1 defense in the conference with SEA,)

73% for 2 TD, 0 INT vs 49ers

69% for 2 TD, 0 INT vs DAL

>46% for 3 TD, 1 INT @DEN
>58% for 1 TD, 0 INT @Eagles
66% for 0 TD, 0 INT @Bears

73% for 0 TD, 0 INT @LV

From an article on Dart this week:

“Hard not to be fired up right now,” one team Giants source told SNY. “Hall of Fame coach … and a franchise quarterback.”

There is an aura about him – teammates gravitate toward him. His toughness, leadership, love for the game put him in a different realm. He has “something,” one source said, “that guys just rally behind.”

Rookies look out of place early, especially when surrounded by tryout players at minicamp. That was never the case with Dart. He arrived at 1925 Giants Drive with a bravado that far surpassed that of a first-year player.

He held his own film sessions with teammates. Worked extra to assure all were caught up. He seemed ready for whatever Daboll threw at him throughout the offseason program and training camp, including when the coach asked the first-year player to call his own plays.

There were mistakes, sure. Seldom the same one twice.

“Before the draft, I thought he was someone who was worth a shot,” an AFC source said. “Now, I wish we had (got him).”

The New York Jets were officially renamed on April 15, 1963, shifting from the "Titans of New York" to the Jets. The name was chosen to reflect the modern era, the team's new home at Shea Stadium, and its location near LaGuardia Airport. It also rhymed with the New York Mets, who also played at Shea.

Is the long line of great centers in Baltimore over?

the Baltimore Ravens have an unsettled center position following the departure of Tyler Linderbaum in free agency and the Ravens failing to get one in the draft

Linderbaum’s case is instructive. He was everything the Ravens could have hoped when they drafted the All-american at #25 overall, starting 66 of a possible 68 career games, earning three consecutive Pro Bowl honors. But Baltimore declined his fifth-year option last spring because the value ($23.4 million) is tied to all offensive linemen (not centers, specifically). When his rookie deal expired after four years, the Raiders signed him to a three-year, fully guaranteed, $81 million deal ($27 million/year), resetting the market at the position by roughly 50 percent.

No one faults Baltimore for failing to meet that steep price, but the void at center endures for Baltimore.

the Ravens watched two centers come off the board — Logan Jones to Chicago at No. 57, Jake Slaughter to the Chargers at No. 63 — before they were back on the clock

And the Ravens have done nothing to address C since.

Lion picked up the fifth-year option for running back Jahmyr Gibbs but declined it for their star linebacker Jack Campbell.

The decision was largely shaped by the NFL’s formula for calculating fifth-year option values. Campbell is an off-ball linebacker but all linebackers, including edge rushers, are included in one category.

Detroit balked at his fifth-year option because it would have put him ahead of Fred Warner of the San Francisco 49ers ($21 million) as the highest-paid linebacker in the NFL.

The latest piece of information came on Wednesday when the Houston Texans agreed to a three-year, $54 million contract extension with Azeez Al-Shaair. A fellow 2025 Pro Bowler, Al-Shaair will reportedly make $18 million per season with his new contract, which will keep him in Houston through the 2029 season.

The Texans' giving Al-Shaair $18 million could be considered bad news for the Lions.

Spotrac estimates that Campbell has a market value of $21.5 per season, and it’s hard to argue that after Al-Shaair’s contract. But the Lions could also have the benefit of spreading the cap hit through the duration of the contract as opposed to the fully guaranteed salary that’s part of the fifth-year option.

The Lions still have decisions looming on other 2023 draftees up for extension like tight end Sam LaPorta and safety Brian Branch, who is coming off a torn achilles. Plus, they still have to worry about extending Gibbs after picking up his option.

When you draft great players, you have to pay them, and the room you have to fit them all together only gets smaller

But Campbell should be tabbed as one of the guys who the Lions cannot afford to lose under any circumstances. He is the heart and soul of their defense

The coming weeks following the NFL Draft are always a time for remaining free agents or trade candidates to find a new team
>>
>>154473612
Ravens have a huge concern after losing Tyler Linderbaum to the Raiders and failing to get a replacement in FA or the Draft. In terms of free agent centers, there’s very few tempting options left and Ravens GM admits they might need to trade for a Center

DeCosta, who is talking more than he usually does, explained on The Lounge podcast that Baltimore didn't expect either of their top centers in Iowa's Logan Jones and Florida's Jake Slaughter to go off the board before the third round, but the Chicago Bears and Los Angeles Chargers did just that, selecting them at #57 and #63.

Barring a miracle, Baltimore is going to undergo a major downgrade at such a pivotal position in a year that could lead to major changes if they miss the playoffs once again.

Selected 4th round, 140th overall pick

"All these teams that don’t have QBs — are you doing the right thing to set yourself up for next year? I thought they had a nice draft, a sound plan,” an exec said. “They save cash moving back from six to nine and getting the guy they wanted anyway."

Their ability to land their choice of tackles (Spencer Fano, the first offensive lineman selected) after trading back three spots to No. 9 looked like textbook maneuvering.

“That was odd,” another exec said. “They are unsettled at the quarterback position, but they took two wideouts? Build your defense and run game.”

Browns did address the run game, they got 4 new starters on their OL

LT - drafted Fano

LG - signed Zion Johnson from Chargers
>who registered the second-best run block win rate in the NFL
>a three-year, $49.5 million deal that includes $32.4 million guaranteed

C - signed Elgton Jenkins from the Packers to a 2 year, $24,000,000 contract, $15,000,000 guaranteed

RT - acquired tackle Tytus Howard from Texans for 2 year, $45,000,000 contract with $34,500,000 guaranteed

The defense was already very good but lost coordinator Jim Schwartz.

Devin Bush, the lone defensive starter hitting free agency, went to the Bears but was quickly replaced by All-Pro Quincy Williams from the Jets. In signing Williams, Cleveland reunites him with new defensive coordinator Mike Rutenberg, who coached Williams in New York and Jacksonville. That relationship should allow for an easy transition next to NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year Carson Schwesinger.

And the Browns D beefed up their depth in FA adding several more pieces
>>
second-round receiver Germie Bernard, who was Bama's WR1 last season

“Bernard is a great fit for them,” a different exec said. “He’s a really mature, good player. Bernard is the guy that the Indiana guy (Omar Cooper Jr.) should be but isn’t. Similar skill set, but he has way more urgency.”
>>
>>154476941
The weak link in the Steelers OL was LT Broderick Jones, so they selected OT Max Iheanachor with their first pick at #21

“I do not know if (Iheanachor) answers the questions that exist with Broderick Jones,” a different exec said. “He will have a learning curve as a super athletic, super raw player.

Browns had a lowkey dogshit draft. I liked that they focused on O line+WRs but the actual players they took in the top 150 i thought were very mediocre outside of Boston. also Zion Johnson and Tytus Howard are fucking shit there's a reason the Chargers and Texans wanted them gone. Elgton Jenkins is the signing that should work out nicely he's a baller
