>>154476514>they have a huge varied catchment area for youth playersthey actually struggle with youth teams because under 16 a kid can leave the club if another club wants them and the compensation is, or used to be, a standard £3500. so a lot of london clubs have good 12 year olds and then chelsea, arsenal or spurs take them for almost nothing. this is why Brentford gave up their Elite Academy status and stopped being in the under 23 (i think) leagues.
