Why don't they rebrand now that Serbia is a capitalist-nationalist state.

This is just pathetic.

Not the only club called "red star" or anything of the sort out there. Hell there's one in France.
>>
>>154499585
I think that one is not named after communism but it has a different historical origin.
>>
>>154495290
Shouldn't they then rebrand all clubs called Dynamo or stuff of the sort?
>>
>>154500675
No. Odesa did that and they became cursed.

>in spirit of new serbian capitalism Red Star offers to sell the right to name the club to whoever pays the most
>the Chinese bribe them with a second hand BYD Dolphin and two million yuan paid in 20 installments until 2050
>wish for the new name to have communist and anti-western connotation
>name changes to Red Star 贝尔格莱德
>crest now includes a small sign in the top right stating that Taiwan is part of China
not worth the fuss

To prevent excessive GDR larping, this is what I would have done back in 1990 with East German clubs

>Lokomotive Leipzig
They actually renamed themselves VfB Leipzig for some years, after the pre-war club that got dissolved in the GDR. They should have stuck with that
>Dynamo Dresden
Pre-war, Dresdner SC was relevant. They re-founded in 1990 but play in the 6th tier or so and focus on other sports more. Should have brought them back to elite football with Dynamo's resources

Then there are some that didn't choose obvious Eastern Bloc names. Still, should have been thorough
>FC Magdeburg
Viktoria Magdeburg before the war
>Rot-Weiß Erfurt
SC Erfurt
>Hallescher FC
VfL Halle

Wrong. Clubs that rebranded because they wanted to distance themselves from muh communism or whatever are pathetic
>>
Serbs cannot renounce their communist heritage because those 45 years of communism are for them a golden age, the Athens of Pericles and the pinnacle of history. They are extremely butthurt because others, like Croats, can do that. Hajduk brought back the checkerboard on their coat of arms, Dinamo tried to bring back the old name, which they failed to do, or at least partially succeeded (long story), but at least they are marking the birthday of Građanski, the club's predecessor. Serbs now don't know where to go next: in the ex-Yu era, clubs represented the entire country, as if they were NT. Croats made that mental leap forward, so NT is above everything, but Serbs still remain club sectarians and in a way, Red Star, as a de facto symbol of the country and nation, is more important than Serbia NT itself. In short, it's not like the rivalry is Croatia vs Serbia, but Croatia vs Red Star. As for Partizan, that's a tragic story. They still have the prefix 'Yugo' in their name and 6 torches in their coat of arms, symbolizing the 6 yugo republics. With the fact that the fans of both Red Star and Partizan are actually Chetniks, so the whole story is complete schizophrenia.

All of ex soviets countries are worse now.

makes sense a slovene suggests rebranding since u have no history whatsoever to speak of beyond being random slavs ruled by austria and thats literally it. same as why the LA Lakers kept the name lakers even though theyre not in minnesota anymore, its history, tradition. origins are a part of that.

croats are obsessed wth serbs holy shit. spend so much time analyzing serbs, serbia and serbdom. i am croatian but it is downright embarassing holy shit.
>>
I don't hear any fans complaining so why would it need changing? The only valid reasons to change a name are blatantly offensive names or names that are incorrect (for instance the city where they play changed names).
>>
I could see it in the case of Red Star but aren't Dynamo and Lokomotiv just general terms despite being used by commies?
>>
>>154510581
lel, it's made even worse by the fact that Tito was a Croat-Slovene, pathetic on the Serb part.

no its not just general knowledge. Croats possess HUGE knowledge about serbian stuff/serbian psyche/serbian emblems/serbian traditions etc. Serbs serbs serbs serbs serbs. you are obsessed fucking faggots. thats why i never tell people i am croatian, cause i dont want to be associated with people so obsessed with other people. Unfrotunately i don't look fully anglo saxon enough to pass as white.

You are Catholic Serbs, Serbs are Orthodox Croats, it's embarassing seeing the animosity between you two when you're basically the same nations barring a few dialect differences.
>>
>>154515971
NOOOOOO Croatians had the first Ballet in zagreb in 1438 while serbs were under turks !!! and croatian libraries spread literacy in croatia so that it achieved 99% literacy in 1549 while serbs couldn't read. BUT despite being more civilizationally advanced, and super into ballets and reading and shit, croatians are VERY TOUGH as well, and SUPER BASED, and their language is so different from serbian it might as well be like comparing chinese to nigerian. For example croatians say "mliko" and serbs say "mleko" for "milk". unintelligible.
>>
>>154515971
There were literal Catholic Serbs in the Dubrovnik area and a famous Catholic Bishop there was a Serb.

You have to look at race, Slovenes, Kajkavian Croats and Hungarians are just panonian Slavs.
