When will it happen? It's the obvious move to make for both leagues

This lineup is better

I just mixed the current top 9 of both leagues

Belgium should not exist, give the clubs of Flanders to Eredivisie (giving all of that to Germany unfortunately isn't going to be very popular) and the clubs of Wallonia to Ligue 1

Netherlands and Belgium should not exist, give the clubs of Eredivisie and Flanders to Bundesliga and the clubs of Wallonia to Ligue 1

I see you're getting it, based anon
Now we just need to completely deconstruct our political landscape to be worthy of these additions ...

Each country should have its own league, no merger bullshit. Belgian league for Belgium and dutch league for Netherlands. Simple as

why would anyone care about beating a foreign team in a domestic league? The whole point of football is bragging rights. Who rules the city, the province, the country. I don't give a fuck about beating Anderlecht or Genk or whatever those teams are called. We already never think about Belgium, we don't want to play them either.

How does Belgium badgemog us this hard?

Agreed, that doesn't mean you can't make a international cup with a neighboring country with similar level of football to increase the average level of competitivity these teams face and potentially even the money.

>>154528258
I was noticing that too while making the image, I think it's because Dutch crests are a bit dated and the few who did change in the last 20 years made it worse (Ajax for example)
>>
>>154528258
It's not that terrible in my opinion. You can see the Belgian clubs tend to have a different style, though

Westerlo and Alkmaar are polar opposites, pretty elaborate versus about as basic as it gets. But Westerlo's doesn't look amazing to me, the football looks a bit tacky and doesn't really say anything in my opinion. It's not very recognizable as a club icon. Alkmaar's crest does the job, although it is bland. You can prefer either, but I think Alkmaar's works better for a football club while being worse from a general aesthetics point of view
Feyenoord's looks fine for sure. Mechelen has the more elaborate and "noble" one for sure, it does come off as prettier. But I don't think there's anything to complain about Feyenoord's crest
Heerenveen vs Lüttich is similar, though I think they are a bit closer
Nijmegen's crest looks dated and a bit weird, but St. Truiden aren't that impressive either though it exudes more timelessness since it just looks like any coat of arms of a city
I'm not a huge fan of either of PSV and St. Gilles, but they're both alright and probably the most similar of the match-ups as they both prefer basic design. If anything, this is a rare case of the Dutch side being the more detailed one
Sparta and Anderlecht are super opposed again. I think Anderlecht's is a bit overloaded with the flags and the writings and so on. But Sparta's almost doesn't qualify as a crest to me. And they get minus points for having the trademark sign in it
Twente and Brügge are both completely fine. If I had to choose, Brügge would win. But they're both cool
I actually prefer Utrecht to Gent because it annoys me that a historically relevant city like Gent couldn't come up with anything better than an Indian. It's not a particularly cool design either. Utrecht's is nothing special, but okay
Ajax returning to the old one is a bit strange. It of course looks dated, but that's the appeal as well. Very elaborate. Genk is the basic one here, but both are fine

What's gonna happen when all of Europe eventually speaks English and is treated as one country?
>>
>>154530251
Problem with cups is the KO format. If all Dutch or all Belgian clubs are eliminated by the quarters or semis only one country will have any interest. Besides the cup isn't very popular. Especially in Holland any shitter can win it.
It's doable to widdle down the field to 16 teams in each country and in the next round draw the 16 Vriendenloterij teams against the Jupiler ones. Just have to move to single elimination to make room. Again this won't draw big crowds and there's also the issue of extra travel for away fans.
>>
>>154528258
Black lives matter so much in Nijmegen they incorporated the blm flag in their crest.
>>
>>154530422
But this is more of a problem regarding format than the idea itself. You could have 16 (8 and 8) teams where everyone plays all the other teams from the other country, then single knockouts. That's about 12 matches and mostly against foreign competition. Or you could just use the old UCL format, just make the groups bigger

>Belgium should not exist
>>
>>154530739
It really shouldn’t. Have you ever paid attention to it? It’s the most dysfunctional state that isn’t a third world shithole. The people there are completely fine, the landscape is nice, but the state of Belgium shouldn’t exist. Split it along language lines and give these parts to the fitting neighboring countries. Brussels might have to be nuked, though
>>
>>154531086
Don't really know much about Belgium desu, the only thing I've heard is that the Molenbeek area of Brussels is an absolute shithole.
>>
>>154531134
I'm just an old school chud who dislikes countries (in the old world) that have no ethnic character and instead multiple languages that aren't unique to the country. Switzerland for example at least makes it work, though
And yes, that area is grim
But again, a lot of Belgium is quite comfy in many ways. And at least they know how to develop football talent nowadays
>>
>>154530435
Nijmegen is unironically the biggest soii city in the NL
>>
>>154531134
It's essentially a French/Dutch/German backyard, doesn't even serve a buffer state either. And then Brussels, which as the German anon said, needs to be nuked
>>
>>154531428
Just tell Yurp that borders are racist and then they'll have to merge these city-states into Germany and France.
>>
>>154531469
To be fair, Europe should have 10 countries or so max. There is no reason for all those small meme states
>>
>>154531134
don't learn about European countries from /pol/
>>
>>154531300
Where do you think Dutch originated? Every single native of the Netherlands has a Belgian ancestor. They'd be speaking Frisian if Holland didn't get colonized by >us. Even the Hollandic dialect is basically Brabantian with a Frisian substrate. As for the French, roughly 10% of their vocab comes from the Frankish ancestral lands in current-day Belgium (the odd one out among romance languages). Flemish dialects were mostly spoken north of the Seine. The German speakers in Belgium are the best protected minority in the world. Just a handful of villages and did offer them a way back to Germany but they refused. At least they also use the soft "g" (as in goed, same soft g in English good). Not that disgusting guttural "g" from Holland.
>>
>>154536560
Wait wait wait, so Belgium isn't meme-Netherlands but the opposite? Holy

It's his very liberal headcanon
>>
>>154528258
Not that bad desu
>>
>>154538410
Yes, the roots of the Netherlands are in Belgium. The dutch became a thing when belgians flew north in the 16th century after the spanish inquisition.
Same with France btw, France was born when Clovis and the merovingians born in present day Belgium went to Gaul and baptized.
>>
don't call it benelux league if you're not gonna include luxemburg teams like dudelange or whatever

They relegated from the Eredivisie ages ago lol

Belgium is in the Netherlands though technically

It’s kind of like how Russia was created by Ukrainians. It’s technically true but really it’s bullshit in all practical senses.

I called it Beneliga thougheverbeithaps
>>
>>154531428

Brussels is the greenest capital in Europe and the third richest region in the EU
Sure Molenbeek/Anderlecht are shitholes but they don't represent the entire city
It's like saying LA needs to be nuked because Compton is in it
>>
>>154542691
LA needs to be nuked in any case
>>
>>154542691
