Tottenham and Burnley are the only Premier League teams to score more than their xG.

The stats are similar in other top leagues. Why can't supposed top players score goals anymore? Is it because the modern players are zoomers who are notoriously weak-minded?

Many of those "top players" are blacks that typically fold under pressure. They are not big game players like Kvara or Kane.

The biggest underperformers:
>evanilson
>dominic calvert-lewin
>jean-philippe mateta
>ollie watkins
>kevin schade
>tolu arokodare

Hmm it's like there's a pattern.

There's been a lot of deep block football in the Premier League this season - the league as a whole has become very defensive and physical. There often isn't a lot of space and time to get shots off in the area, with players rarely getting proper clean sights of goal. It's normal that they'd underperform their xG in those circumstances. It's also normal that it's two of the worst teams in the league overperforming their xG in those circumstances - they're the teams less likely to face low blocks and packed penalty boxes.

You know it's bad when a shitter like dembele wins the ballondor yeah.

We're just back to the norm after Ronaldo's and Messi's reign of terror.

It literally shows that modern top players suck at scoring, you retarded fucking mongoloid. How exactly is that a pointless finding?

"durrr xg bad because i don't understand statistics and that makes me feel bad about my intelligence" morons have to be the biggest fucking mouthbreathers in sports discussions. Kill yourself.

But that's exactly what xG takes into account.

Time might actually explain some of it thoughbeit.

Back to norm? Kaka, Cannavaro, Ronaldinho, Shevchenko, Nedved, Ronaldo, Figo, Rivaldo. All great players, now in the same company as some one-dimensional pacy ngubu from a worthless farmer's league.

Over score your xG isn’t natural, not for elite strikers like Haaland and surely not for a WHOLE team
Imagine a team like City who creates tons of chances, sure you got a freak of nature as a 9 but players like Foden or Marmoush will miss chances and they’ll still win by 3 or 4

>Over score your xG isn’t natural, not for elite strikers
That's literally what they do or xG wouldn't be where it's at. It isn't some magic stat taken out of a hat, it's the average of performances and obviously top players are expected to perform better than average. Kane has scored 36 goals above his xG, Messi 33.

xG is a poorly devised stat that has no meaningful reflection on what's actually going on.
Amateur statnonces, as usual, are analyzing the wrong pieces of data.
