Aren't the Portuguese fed up with him? On paper, they have a fantastic team for the World Cup. But at this point, we have to admit that Ronaldo has become a dead weight who handicaps them more than he helps. Why is he still in the national team?
>>
>>154625235
Roberto Martinez is the bigger problem than Ronaldo
>>
>>154625235
Just let him get his Mickey mouse goals so he can retire

meanwhile in real life:

>>154625235
at some point the coach will be younger than him
>>
Alright, let's talk purely football then: who takes his place? Gonçalo, a glorified reserve for PSG? Leão as a false #9? Fucking Fábio Silva from Borussia? They are world class everywhere bar ST, no wonder Il Principe is still starting.

He's a small game player. What you want on your team when you're playing qualifiers gainst Luxemburg or San Marino.
>>
With the money he must generate for the Portugal football association I dont see them retiring him any time soon, plus whenever they've played with him they havent done that much better so might as well just bring him.
>>
>>154625371
According to some brilliant minds, Paulinho who's playing in the fucking Mexican League.

Most people still haven't noticed that there hasn't been a Portuguese striker starting in a top for like 15 years or something (Ronaldo was never a proper striker).

The best striker that the portuguese academies, that claim to be among the best in the world, have produced in those 15 years is either Gonçalo Ramos or André Silva. The more you think about it, the worse it is.

A manlet Diogo Jota was a more consistent target man than any actual pure striker options.

>either Gonçalo Ramos or André Silva.
These two really aren't so bad.
>>
>>154627194
>André Silva
Nigga has 10 goals in Lel Liga playing for Elche, dude. Just let the old man play, at least he might bag some point-blank rebounds.
>>
>>154626510
He seems to try way too hard, and as the game goes on just gets frustrated with himself and others and things crumble.
>>
>>154626510
he will certainly deliver this time
>>
>>154625235
I am, but I am in the minority
>>154626696
Sadly all this. The Paulinho psyop by Mendes is a fucking embarassement
>>
he was already a corpse in 2022, if you'd ask me then if there was a chance of him playing yet another cup 4 years later I'd say you were crazy
but here we are
>>
>>154627670
He doesn't seem much worse now at least. Probably an upside of playing in a retirement league
>>
>>154625235
He's experienced, brings a lot of the spotlight and it's pressure to himself, leaving younger players more free and calm.

As a player he positions well still, he's not bad to have in there even when he can't sprint the way he used to back in his man United days

If they were going to admit it they would have done it 12 years ago.

a french flag making this post is somewhat ironic haha

>But at this point, we have to admit that Ronaldo has become a dead weight who handicaps them more than he helps.
This has been the truth throughout his whole club career, with the sole exception being his time at Sporting
>>
>>154626696
Just steal Endrick, CBF doesn't seem interested in him for some reason
>>
He'll be a bit asset to Portugal winning the WC but not necessarily in the pitch.
It's going to be another Messi in the middle east situation
>>

>Aren't the Portuguese fed up with him?
Mixed opinions on this. Some think he's no longer useful at all, others think he still earns a place in the starting XI, either because he "gave us so much and we have to retribute" or because they still trust him more to poach some goals than Ramos or some other fraud. Sadly, I have to side with the latter group.
Like some have said, there's a Paulinho fan group now but I think the Mexican league has to be really shit if he can shine there.

Who was portugals top scorer in qualifers? Or final four nations league last year?

He proved he's a soulless mercenary when he moved to the camel league for more money than anyone will ever need in a lifetime and statppaded goals instead of returning to sporting, his boyhood club who helped him launch his career in the first place. Great way of ruining a legacy.

He's not good enough for Sporting. It's questionable whether he's actually even good enough for Al-Camelfuck.
>>
>>154637286
He kinda was 3 years ago, even if he would be benched for most of the matches. I bet he would love to play against 9 man Tondela.

Factos. But don't expect logic from gaynaldo fans. Pisstiano's career after leaving Madrid show what an overhymped fraud he really was.
