>PSV won the league with two fingers up their nose (still lost twice to promoted Telstar tho)
>Feyenoord crawled with blood, sweat, tears and luck to a direct CL spot
>Twente, NEC and Ajax spent the past 2 months slipping and choking on who gets the CL qualifiers spot
This is the worst Eredivisie season I've seen in years.

Maybe should have let Farioli cook?

I wanted to calm you down, but I checked the table ... and I must say, yeah ... It looks grim indeed. Such a wide gap, but PSV didn't impress anyone in Europe
Twente and NEC finishing high is cool, but it really seems like the league is just weak altogether that way
So, what happened?

Ajax has been in full-on crisis mode after Mislintat threw the club in financial problem by wasting money on B- and C-grade players and give them A-grade salaries, which Ajax struggles to get rid off. They had some managerial woes as well. Scaring Farioli off is regarded as a bad thing in hindsight because he seemed to have been building up despite the garbage he was given.
Heitinga attempted it, but with shit football and a 4th place after 11 matches, they gave the chance to Grim... who wasn't much better. Oscar Garcia is now in charge after being promoted from the youth team.
I don't think Ajax will collapse like Anderlecht, but they are now in quite bad waters.

Feyenoord had some managerial issues after Slot left for Liverpool. Priske wasn't as successful as they wished, so Feyenoord fired him and hired Van Persie. Now, Van Persie was a risk, because he's a complete newbie and wasn't doing as well tactically and results-wise at Heerenveen. And he also has to deal now with quite a hollowed-out and injury-plagued squad.

PSV literally wins by doing nothing and staying stable.

>Mislintat
AHAHAHAHAHAHA, oh yeah, sorry. The guy has amazing PR ("Diamond Eye"), but that can only carry you so far. He leaves burning bridges everywhere he goes, people here have understood that by now at least
So what are Ajax's and Feyenoord's finances like? I'd have expected them to get enough money to regroup via the development of domestic talents after a while. At least after most/some of the expensive contracts run out in the case of Ajax

Cruijff Jr. has been working hard to get rid of the Mislintat failures and will go even harder next window. They got rid of most expensive flops, even cheering happily when Ipswich promoted, because now they are forced to buy Akpom (despite Akpom only playing a handful of matches for Ipswich and not doing badly at Ajax despite not playing at his natural position).
Players like Wijndal, Edvardsen, Van Der Boomen and Mannwerk are top priority to sell, while Sutalo with 2 years left on his contract is also a potential sell target.

Feyenoord had made some bad deals too. St. Juste came over transfer free from flopping at Sporting, got the highest salary and is now stuck at the club till next year's summer with a salary of almost 2 million a year (excluding 1mil in bonusses). While at the same time, washed up Raheem Sterling got convinced by Van Persie to join. Luckily for only the rest of the season, because somehow Sterling can't keep up with the fucking Eredivisie of all leagues.
They also sold some key players for some good prices(Hartman, Hancko, Milambo, Paixao, Timber) without getting back some good players for it. The sporting director will leave after this season, so hope whoever is gonna be in charge of Feyenoord's recruitment

Only bright spot of this season is seeing little old Telstar play their first Eredivisie season in over 50 years and play attractive attacking football despite being a relegation candidate.
They have avoided direct relegation and can even avoid the relegation play-off if they beat their direct competitor against relegation AND local rival Volendam.
I KNOW that final matchday rival match will become a next legendary match in Dutch football history, I can feel it.

Nothing stopping Bosz and his brabonegers from doing it again next season. 4 more titles to equal Ajax's haul.
