Had some coaching on the bowling machine yesterday. Coach didn't appreciate my normal tactic of cheekily walking down the wicket to the ball, and instead made me stand with a really wide stance and told me to ground myself without moving my back foot, and then to hit through the ball. Felt very unnatural, but have to admit that all of a sudden every shot I played was a nice low-risk drive along the ground, with upper hand dominant and good balance. Wonder if there could be something in batting properly after all, but feel like I'm too old a dog to be taught new tricks
