Elversberg (13.000 pepo) going into the Bundesliga...

Krautstein and wirtzelburg won't stand a chance in the sauerkraut league now.

Looks cozy as hell
>>
Another tiny shit club that nobody cares about and now Wolfsburg will save themselves in relegation which means another shit club nobody cares stays in the league. It's getting worse every year. At least Schalke are back.

what an insult.
ban pls

No, Homburg has 45,000 people
>>154720676
They have a big investor pumping them full with money, that guy specifically chose a village club like Elversberg with no real fan scene so he could take over everything
>>
>>154719257
comfy
>>
>>154721000
That big investor used to be a kicker himself, and Elversberg was the very first Club he played in as a kid.
I don't know if it is the case in other countries, but in Germany everyone lowkey wishes their village club they spent their youth in would make it into the Bundesliga to get all the fame and fortune. Some of these kids become millionaires and instead of buying themselves Clubs in England, they put all their money in their backwater villages for nostalgia reason, be it Hoppenheim or Elversberg.
>>
>>154721715
Wasn’t he basically in bed with Saarbrücken before and then decided to strategically choose Elversberg instead because it is a blank sheet?
It is comfy to think of your village as a Bundesliga member, and Elversberg are working efficiently for sure. But let’s be real, Heidenheim, Hoffenheim, Elversberg … these clubs normally shouldn’t be in the Bundesliga or even close to it. I don’t think you can blame fans for rolling their eyes at another tiny club with an investor appearing out of nowhere. Most people will prefer a Bundesliga with Hannover, Hertha, Karlsruhe etc. because that means history, fan power, entire cities going wild
Elversberg are doing better work as of now, though
>>
>>154721813
I think the reason why some fans cheer for them is to make the Bonzen of other Clubs mad.
Imagine Bayern, BVB and Red Bull travelling to a stadium, where you can see the trees. Humiliation! The other 4 leagues of the Big 5 are laughing at "us".
You kick a ball too hard, all players and the refs need to go into the forest to look for it.
>>
>>154722020
>The other 4 leagues of the Big 5 are laughing at "us".
god, stop being a whiny faggot
>>
>>154722060
I meant it ironically, but I heard this argument from people who wish to franchise the hell out of the Bundesliga.
>>
>>154719257
This is like what we have in Irish League
>>
>>154719257
I drove past Elversberg during a trip on my college days. This is a town which doesn't have a public town hall or a train station but has a team that went back to back promotions with a Lidl next to the stadium. They really should have gotten promoted last season but they've done it now so congrats to them!
>>
Dietmar Hopp actually played for Hoffenheim and people are still whining about sponsoring it later
>>
>>154720058

this unironically. the Bundeslga has many big historic clubs in the 2nd and 3rd division that would be more interesting to see relevant again.
>>
>>154722395
Why wouldn't they? Hoffenheim are as soulless as it gets, Hopp having the decency to turn his boyhood club into such a monstrosity instead of another literal who does not make that much of a difference to what Hoffenheim stands for nowadays. You better wonder why they have been quite successful for a while now and still barely get an 80% attendance rate, and that's with the likes of Hamburg, Köln, Frankfurt, and Stuttgart filling literally half their stadium for them
>>
>>154720058
It's been getting better in recent years, Hamburg and Köln going up last year for example is a big upgrade. Schalke is a vital addition now, Pauli and Heidenheim won't be missed either. Unfortunately, you won't get rid of Hoffenheim (or Leverkusen, Wolfsburg, and Leipzig). Apart from them and now Elversberg, there are no village clubs in the Bundesliga. The problem is that one of them is nearly impossible to get rid of, plus another usually gets a brief stint at least before being replaced by another
>>
>>154719257
They didn't even had enough fans to do a proper Platzsturm.
Not for the lack of trying, but there were more security personnel than proper fans on the stadium! Embarrassing!
>>
>>154723114
>They didn't even had enough fans to do a proper Platzsturm.
Unlike Schalcuck 04?

>>
>bayernwinslolliga
Whats the point? Going up, going down, it doesnt matter. Bayern wins in the end
>>
>>154723705
Do you seriously expect a Mainz fan to go "awww man, what a shit season" if their club plays a decent season for their ambitions (upper midfield) because Bayern won the league?
We get that it sucks for neutrals from other countries, people here would love to see a more exciting title fight as well. But the point is supporting your local club and hoping they do well for what they are capable of, not consuming a product solely for entertainment
>>
>>154724039
i agree, bs narrative that only 1st place matters, in every league lots of teams cant win it but other position fights are important
>>
>>154719257
The stadium now looks bigger than this because of the addition of temporary stands.
>>
>>154721715
More like Copenheim
>>
>>154723262
I say this quite often
>>
I cannot think or comprehend of anything more cucked than being a modern day top-flight promotee. Honestly, think about it rationally. You are building, grinding, fighting and struggling through the lower leagues solely so you can get ravaged twice a year by the perennial winner(s). All the hard work you put into your beautiful little club - making the right transfers, scoring miracle goals, riding on positive momentum, diving for clutch saves. All of it has one simple result: the club is more ripe for the league juggernauts that will eventually fuck it in every hole.

As a team that gets promoted to the top flight, you are LITERALLY dedicating at least an entire season of you life simply to build up talent for the teams that actually win leagues to one day enjoy in a transfer. It is the ULTIMATE and FINAL cuck. Think about it logically

>big investor
that big investor is a mid-sized family owned business from the region. Also:
Elversberg budget: 10 million
Schalke budget: 40 million
Hannover budget: 50 million

Big enough to solely carry them from deep amateur territory to the Bundesliga, plus building them a new stadium. Without ursapharm, this club is nothing. Schalke and Hannover have decades of history and an entire region behind them, of course their budget is larger.
>>
>>154732158
>10 million
>Big enough to solely carry them (...) to the Bundesliga
How is that big enough if Düsseldorf got relegated with 16 million an Münster with 13 million?
>>
>>154732158
Theyre not building a new stadium, they are building 2 or 3 simple square concrete stands in random village place where i guess the building process (land use and aqusition) with the council and the land-prices are cheaper. Its not like building a new 50k spaceship stadium in a big city
>>
>>154732347
Of course they're not building a 50,000 seat stadium, they couldn't fill that. It's still a complete overhaul of their facilities, and that is not happening for free. The entire club hinges on this one sponsor whose boss also happens to have a lot of administrative power in the club. They are not a normal sponsor or shareholder in this regard
>>154732294
It is objectively big enough because
1) They are in the Bundesliga now
2) The club would be - at the very best - in the 4th tier without ursapharm
That's just a fact. No one doubts they are actually putting up good work! They play nice football. I'm not comparing them with a sheikh club that is given unlimited amounts of money, I just don't see a need to celebrate them. They ARE a historically super irrelevant village club that has been carried upwards by a single sponsor pulling the strings. I just find that rather boring and hope they don't stay for too long. But it is deserved in terms of the quality of their work
Other bigger clubs are doing bad jobs, yes. Sucks for them. But it's also easier to work like that when things align like in Elversberg: ursapharm and Holzer can dictate the club's matters without fearing a lot of fan intervention (which can definitely fuck up other clubs), there is no media ruckus like in the big cities with big clubs, and all the finances are very streamlined because of how small the club is
>>
>>154732503
>It is objectively big enough because
>1) They are in the Bundesliga now
wow
>>
>>154732522
Any objections? Seriously, this is the answer. No animosity whatsoever, it is what it is. Please refute it if you can.
>>
>>154732535
I'm not invested enough in Elversberg to start a discussion on logical circling. bye
>>
>>154732547
Alright, I recognize you are butthurt for no reason and cannot make an argument. Maybe you just didn't get what we were talking about. Sorry for that. Bye bye
>>
>>154719257
It's a 7500 population actually which makes it even funnier. The 13-14k just includes the neighborhood village. it never makes sense when they do that
>>
>>154732669
Well, they are from a town called Spiesen-Elversberg. It's like saying Hoffenheim is from Sinsheim and Schalke is from Gelsenkirchen
>>
>>154732747
Schalke are from Gelsenkirchen-Schalke, they fact they are said to be from Gelsenkirchen is a sign of modern globohomo, as is the fact they don't play in Schalke anymore. Same with Bayern playing in a parking lot outside of the city that is barely Munich.
>>
>>154723262
Nah. I see elversberg doing good.
>>
>>154733885
They've been underrated hard in the 2nd tier, rightfully so given their still small budget and loan player model
But the Bundesliga is a different beast, them surviving this would be insane. Even Heidenheim had a stronger foundation. Also, playing Hamburg in the 2nd tier is different from playing Hamburg in the first tier, they are starting to grow into their old size again (but are still vulnerable)
If Wolfsburg win the relegation playoffs, Elversberg must finish ahead of at least two of >Schalke, Köln, Gladbach, Bremen, Wolfsburg, Union, Augsburg. I won't count Mainz and Wolfsburg since it is relatively likely they will be at least midtable next season
That's going to be very tough
>>
>>154731901
>temporary stands
Do they expect to go back down again then?
>>
>>154734367
They are expanding to 15,000 seats for good. This is the minimum capacity required for long-term professional football in Germany in the first two tiers, so you need temporary stands and/or exception allowances to bridge the gap
Elversberg were a very small and irrelevant club for ages, they started making a name for themselves in the upper regional tiers below the elite leagues like 20 years ago. They had one brief season in the 3rd tier, then returned in 22/23 and directly went up to the 2nd tier which they have now left after 11th, 3rd and 2nd place. The town they are from has 15,000 people, their specific part of the town has 8,000. They'd be insane to not expect to go down right away again, even though they have a relatively generous sponsor who has taken control of the club ages ago and made their rise possible ... they'll have the smallest budget of all teams by miles
>>
>>154719257
This is exactly the kind of stuff I like to do on FM

Respect to them for their good work, and yeah, Holzer family and Ursapharm aren't the Saudi PIF or an American/Chinese billionaire, but ideally, I wouldn't want to see these guys in the first three tiers
