Copied from the other thread:

>Southampton admitted breaches of Regulations requiring Clubs to act with the utmost good faith and prohibiting the observation of another Club’s training session within 72 hours of a scheduled match. The admitted breaches concern fixtures against Oxford United in December 2025, Ipswich Town in April 2026 and Middlesbrough in May 2026.

Funniest part is the spying on the Oxford & Ipswich matches resulted in Southampton winning neither of them.

Tonda Eckert confirmed for one of the biggest managerial frauds of all time.

Quite a lot.

You can see what formation and style they will play.

If they are doing drills to target for example your right side, you know to prepare for that.

You can see any special set piece routines or how they plan to defend against specific players on corners etc

Gf is a teacher, basically half of kids are autistic or ADHD now.

It's probably more prevalent because of various reasons, but also kids growing up before 2000 were just seen as "naughty" without needing a diagnosis
>>
>>154757829
>basically half of kids are autistic or ADHD now
It's multifaceted. Firstly, the systems to diagnose are more established, so more get diagnosed. Secondly, the criteria has been changed, it is much easier to get diagnosed. Thirdly and probably the worst part, is parents WANT their kids to have ADHD or autism, because it gives them a blank cheque for their kid to be shit and for them not to parent. Oh my kid knocked off a priceless vase and got sad you told him off? Well he's autistic, he doesn't understand :(. Oh my kid is behaving inappropriately? He has ADHD he can't help it. And if your kid gets too much to handle? Well you give his his meds, he becomes sleepy and you can go have a bottle of wine while he is sedated. Easy shit.

Ask your GF about how many kids are coming into school with near to zero verbal communication, zero or little reading ability or who aren't toileted trained (and or wearing nappies).

I'm quite serene about it, more bothered that the game goes ahead on Saturday for the 38,000 of us to have a big party.

Sergej is the boss, he'd been planning for either eventuality. Boro looked pretty hopeless across their semi but this might/will give them a huge boost.

Before all this I would have rather played Boro, Soton are a niggly diving ex-PL team and especially with VAR at Wembley I didn't really want to face them

>manager can say he never saw any recordings or changed his tactics based on analyst's advice. Ballache to prove otherwise
>club statement - they apologise for their former employee's enthusiastic off-the-books activities, but it had no impact on the management of Southampton FC. They have handled the matter internally and are completely willing to cooperate with whatever inquiries the EFL may have
Or just admit to everything that was suspected, and then more, throw away MILLIONS of pounds of Premier League revenue, and then have the gall to appeal the punishment for the slam dunk you've given the EFL because you foolishly expected them to reward your newfound honesty.
EFL should send them down and let Oxford stay up for the fucking audacity.

Spyhampton finally speak: https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/club-statement-20th-may-2026

>We have appealed yesterday's decision by the Independent Disciplinary Commission to expel Southampton Football Club from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs, and to impose a four-point deduction for the 2026/27 season. Before turning to that appeal, I want to address our supporters, our players, and the wider football community directly and without equivocation.

>What happened was wrong. The club has admitted breaches of EFL Regulations 3.4 and 127. We are sorry to the other clubs involved, and most of all to the Southampton supporters whose extraordinary loyalty and support this season deserved better from the club.

>We have provided our full co-operation to the EFL's investigation and disciplinary process. Following the appeal, we will also be writing to the EFL to volunteer our participation in a working group on the practical application and enforcement of Regulation 127 across the Championship. Contrition without change is hollow, and we intend to demonstrate change.
>>
>>154764779
>On the appeal itself: we accept that there should be a sanction. What we cannot accept is a sanction which bears no proportion to the offence. Whereas Leeds United was fined £200,000 for a similar offence, Southampton has been denied the opportunity to compete in a game worth more than £200 million and one which means so much to our staff, players and supporters.

>We believe the financial consequence of yesterday's ruling makes it, by a very considerable distance, the largest penalty ever imposed on an English football club. Luton Town's 30-point deduction in 2008/09 — to date the most severe sporting sanction in the English game — was levied against a club already in League Two, with no comparable revenue at stake. Derby County's 21-point deduction in 2021 cost them their Championship status. Everton's eventual six-point deduction in 2023/24 followed losses of £124.5 million, a figure dwarfed by what has been taken from Southampton in a single afternoon. The largest financial penalty ever levied by the Premier League, against Chelsea in March of this year, was £10.75 million, and was accompanied by no sporting sanction whatsoever despite involving £47.5 million in undisclosed payments over seven years.

>We say this not to minimise what occurred at this club, which we have accepted was wrong. We say it because proportionality is itself a principle of natural justice. The Commission was entitled to impose a sanction. It was not, we will argue, entitled to impose one that is manifestly disproportionate to every previous sanction in the history of the English game.

>Our appeal will be heard today, and we will provide a further update in due course.

This is absolutely hilarious. Especially the points deduction paragraph.

>As a result, the original sanction remains in force. Southampton’s expulsion from the Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs stands, alongside the four-point deduction to be applied to the Club’s 2026/27 Championship record and the reprimand in respect of all charges. >Southampton Football Club has this evening been informed that the EFL’s League Arbitration Panel has upheld the sanctions imposed earlier this week. As a result, the club will not participate in Saturday’s Championship Play-Off Final.

>This is an extremely disappointing outcome for everybody connected with Southampton Football Club. We know how painful this moment will be for our supporters, players, staff, commercial partners and the wider community who have given so much backing to the team throughout the season and we apologise once again to everyone impacted by this.

>While we fully acknowledge the seriousness of this matter and the scrutiny that has followed, the club has consistently believed the original sporting sanction was disproportionate, a view that has been widely shared by many in the football community over the last 24 hours.

>We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to our supporters for the support, patience and loyalty they have shown throughout an incredibly difficult period. We will share information as soon as possible in relation to ticket refunds for those who bought tickets to Wembley.

>Southampton Football Club has a proud history and strong foundations, but it is clear that trust now needs to be rebuilt. That work begins immediately. The club will reflect carefully on the events that have led to this point, learn from them and take the necessary steps to move forward responsibly.

>While tonight is a painful moment, this football club will respond with humility, accountability and determination to put things right.

Yeah sounds like they're not going to throw a wobbler to CAS (not that they can without risking literally being kicked out of the EFL)

They weren't able to go to CAS. What Sport Republic need to do now is give Tonda Eckert some concrete boots and throw him in the Solent.

At this point you have to wonder if they were spying on Arsenal & Man City as well.

Not wanting to tempt fate, but if Boro went up I don't think anyone could say they didn't deserve it after being in the top 2 most of the season. They just imploded after January.
>>
assuming they did it near enough every match AND it was an in-joke amongst pretty much everyone at the club, a 4 point deduction and being removed from an individual play-off tie is fucking nothing.

they should count themselves lucky. compare with Juventus.
>>
>>154770037
Indeed. So it seems like they would have got 6 points for the Ipswich and Oxford spying they admitted to, reduced to 4 on admission of guilt. Southampton might have also admitted these two particularly as they won neither game.

But they must have been spying for more games, so why isn't the investigation continuing?
>>
>>154770037
Yeah, the expulsion is one thing, but the points deduction is pathetic.

Well remembered:

>With relegation virtually assured, Leeds entered administration on 4 May 2007, thus incurring a league-imposed 10-point deduction that officially relegated the club to the third tier of English football; the club had previously never played any lower than the second tier.

>On 3 July 2007, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) lodged a legal challenge to Leeds' Creditors' Voluntary Agreement (CVA). Under league rules, if the club were still in administration at the start of the following season, Leeds would have been prevented from starting their season by the Football League. Following the challenge by HMRC, the club was put up for sale by KPMG, and again Ken Bates' bid was accepted. The League eventually sanctioned this under the "exceptional circumstances rule" but imposed a 15-point deduction due to the club failing to exit administration with a CVA, as the Football League rules required. On 31 August 2007, HMRC decided not to pursue its legal challenge any further.

Do Wrexhamchads stand a chance in all of this?

If Soton spied all season, surely their final position in the table should be voided. There is a whistleblower at Soton now releasing internal chats suggesting they were doing it all season.

Nah, the principle stands. punishment doesn't fit the crime especially when other clubs are getting away with way worse, could have just replayed the game or something
>>
>>154778373
NTAYRT

This very season, Swindon won 2-1 and were thrown out of the EFL Trophy for fielding two ineligible players against Luton Town, and Luton were reinstated (and actually ended up winning it at Wembley lel)

The EFL playoffs is a different competition to the regular season. Southampton broke the rules in it, and their opponents were reinstated.

>other clubs are getting away with way worse

Man City are governed by the PL, the EFL is a different organisation. And so is the FA which will deal with punishing individuals soon.
>>
>>154778373
>punishment doesn't fit the crime especially when other clubs are getting away with way worse, could have just replayed the game or something
You're clueless, you don't know what you're talking about at all. They've been spying on opposition teams for pretty much the entirety of Tonda Eckert's tenure. Being expelled from the play-offs is more than substantial. However, to only be deducted four points for next season is lightweight as fuck.
>>
>>154778429
Completely.

For a start, I wonder how many regular season games the EFL have evidence of spying in already.

Southampton clearly chose to admit to two where
>there already was some evidence
>they didn't win to make the spying look less severe

But now, surely evidence from the internal chats will show they spied on every game so it should be 3pts deducted per game on top for every game they investigate now.
>>
>>154778452
If we go off the 4 point deductions for Oxford away and Ipswich at home, they should deduct 2 points off every game Eckert managed in the regular season (33). So that would be 66 points. Imagine seeing them start next season on -66.
>>
>>154778469
See I'm imagining it would have been 6pts deducted to 4 for admitting guilt.

But they've not admitted guilt to the rest of the games so should be 3pts for each.
>>
>>154778496
So therefore minus 97. Lol.
>>
And here comes Mi'waw: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2026/may/21/southampton-spying-scandal-millwall-wrexham-legal-options

>Millwall and Wrexham are considering their legal options after confirmation that Southampton have been expelled from Saturday’s Championship playoff final and replaced by the beaten semi-finalists Middlesbrough.

>The aggrieved clubs will await publication of the written reasons for the decisions taken by the English Football League’s independent disciplinary panel, which were upheld by an appeal panel on Wednesday night, but are understood to believe they could have grounds to make a claim for compensation.

>Millwall and Wrexham could seek to test whether the EFL rulebook has been correctly applied or whether the disciplinary process was flawed, and could argue that because Southampton’s spying on Middlesbrough took place before the playoffs, they should have been replayed without Southampton’s involvement.

They spied and cheated. They Can't complain. It was just never going to be accepted that paying a small fine is appropriate punishment for entering the richest game in world football. A £10 million fine for a shot at £250 million? All Championship clubs would gladly take that risk. Anything beyond being booted out would mean a free for all of rampant cheating in the Championship. The punishment had to be extremely severe.

>In relation to the OU Incident, the Respondent played OUFC on 26 December 2025 in an EFL Championship Fixture. The same individual [William Salt] was in the vicinity of OUFC’s training ground on 23 and 24 December 2025 and observed training sessions, sharing information and footage with the Respondent.

Imagine how that poor fucker felt on Christmas Day.

>25. [Southampton] put forward a number of mitigating factors, including its co-operation with the EFL in the investigation in providing information and volunteering the facts which led to Charges 3 and 4, and 5 and 6. It acknowledged that in its initial response to the EFL on 8 May 2026 it provided inaccurate information, suggesting that the conduct was not part of the SFC’s culture and that no video footage was captured, transmitted, shared or analysed, when in fact the opposite was the case.

>The Commission accepts the Respondent’s expressions of remorse, although this is tempered by the initial misleading response to the EFL (see paragraph 25 above). We were unimpressed by suggestions on the part of some of the Respondent’s witnesses that they were unaware that these actions were in breach of the Rules. The Respondent is a member of the EFL and has agreed to be bound by the Rules.

Genuinely pathetic behaviour from Spyhampton. The entirety of the footballing staff should be given the chop.
