That isn't surprising. Arsenal was an elite club back in the early 2000s (2000-2006). Wenger brought in a style of football that was very attractive to watch and they actually won stuff regularly back then. They played fast, technical, stylish football. Arsenal was basically a modern club even back then. You also had unthinkable achievements like the Invincibles. Arsenal was also the most popular choice in FIFA and PES due to the players they had, fast, physically dominant etc. Arsenal and United were the Big 2 in England before Mourinho came and made Chelsea big.
