Sure, it's an efficient form of football, for him, with billions of dollars worth of players. But i'm not sure it benefited all the other teams who tried to emulate his style, and it CERTAINLY DID NOT BENEFIT us neutral consummers of football. It's an horrible style, it compresses the 2 blocks together, leaving no space and speed and 'spectacular' plays for us to enjoy. When he came on 17 years ago, people where making fun of him for playing 'handball', because that's exactly what it is, from one touch line to the other, progressively pushing back the other team until every player is crammed up in a 30 meters width of the pitch. The only grace i'll give him is that it allows for short technical players to thrive, but that's about it, all the other aspects of it suck ass. The german style of football is far superior, you'll always be entertained watching the Bundesliga or Bayern in Europe as a neutral spectator, because they understand that it's easier to resolve a play with a quick transition against 4 opponents rather than waiting for all the other players to run back in front of their goal. There's more space and opportunities that way, and it's way more entertaining that way.

Guardiola knew what he was doing
Only midwits see it as rocket science
Get a billion dollars, get a stacked bench, and you win the farmer league.
His whole tactics is based on 38 gameweeks. It's like a house of cards that crumples in CL and gets exposed every time. He's not a big game manager.

people blame guardiola whilst ignoring the true culprit (cruyff).......

This is like blaming Oppenheimer for the atomic bomb. You can claim it was a great evil that was unleashed onto the world, but if he didn't do it then someone else inevitably would have done it at some other point.

one CL in 15 years meanwhile:
he inherited a treble winning team at Bayern and got exposed
he inherited a CL semifinalist team which barely lost to peak Madrid and took him 7 years for a CL win

i repeat, only complete midwits are impressed by domestic league wins when you manage billion dollar squad with half a billion bench. CL or fuck off.
