I'm watching the highlights of our semifinals against PSG last season, and honestly despite having some big absences in our starting XI (no Gabriel or Havertz in both matches, no Partey in the first leg), we still went toe-to-toe with them and created enough chances to win the game. Donnarumma made some incredible saves for them, and he's obviously no longer at PSG. If the players don't get overwhelmed by the occassion, we genuinely have a solid shot at winning the final.

When we then smashed them up I thought yep, that's villa's run's done, we're the best team by far, sanity restored this league is ours to lose. Think the City Fulham 5-4 game was before then too and I could see City were nowhere near it and pep went for his panic buys. When we went points clear I thought for sure that's a big enough cushion to seal it even with a bad result at City.
