seeing nicotine pouch adverts in racing now begs the question...
if cool old tobacco companies like marlboro started selling nic pouches, could we see their iconic on cars again? can't they just put "nicotine pouches" in small print and bring back these beautiful liveries?

I don't know, but I can give you two guesses:
>old management is only begrudgingly in these markets, doesn't know how to properly market to the current generation of young adults and isn't particularly interested in doing so anyway
>culture of fear created by the raping they got in the '90s, worsened by the vaping panic of the 2010s, means nobody wants to spend big on marketing these products just to get buttfucked by trial lawyers and government regulators for a third time

The double header weekend is such a cool concept. I don't think it's the right move for every series to do it every weekend, but I would like to see more IndyCar double headers and at least one IMSA weekend with 2 hour race Saturday and a 3 hour race Sunday or something like that.

Man, I love that turn in vidya. It's such a fantastic way to set up a drag race down the front straight. Dude, I am so freaking jealous.
>>
>>154823668
I'd had the idea for a way to revive the old Nurburgring 1000km by making it a double header. have the Hypercars run a 3h event on the GP track one day, and the GT cars run a 3h event on the 24h track the other day.
>>
>>154821517
>Martini and Rossi
What were the fans wearing? When I go to IndyCar races, pretty much everyone is in IndyCar gear and when I go to NASCAR, pretty much everyone is in NASCAR gear, but when I go to IMSA you see pretty much everything from F1 to carting with even a little dirt track and drag racing thrown in.

Those cars generate so much downforce from wings that they are extremely sensitive to dirty air, which makes passing really hard. They also have so little power for the amount of downforce generated that the cars barely move around and it looks effortless to drive, making i boring to watch. For 20 years they tried to bandaid it (grooved tires, DRS, KERS, ground effects) instead of actually fixing the issue: reduce wing generated downforce by a lot and offset the performance loss with more engine power and wider tires.

They just wanted year on year lap time improvements, as if that's what makes good racing. It just provides that the people in charge don't understand racing or anything you can't put a number on. It's called the quantitative fallacy and every buisness bro has it super bad.
>>
>>154842350
Well, you see, they were poor, so the law applies to them more harshly.
>>
I don't know if the extremely low quality of these shitposts or a huetard attempting to reply to them seriously is worse.

>>154843300
It's not even about being poor, they were just non-charter undesirables from day 1 and it's funny how we got nothing about them not racing this year but "uh well the investor doesn't want to spend more money" when clearly the investor didn't want to spend more money knowing their team was getting iced by big Roj anyways. Just the lovely behaviour of the American open wheel establishment that has helped the sport grow and thrive over the last 30 years.

Genuinely happy for Danny's Pendejos. He's got some talent, and he has a lot of heart and grit, which makes him impossible to hate. Seeing him and McDowell celebrate it during the post-race interview was great. Two drivers who, while probably never all-time material, are still good at what they do and able to be there on occasion, celebrating these rare and special moments where they bring it home. The race may have been rain-shortened, but as far as I'm concerned those two restarts earned Danny his win.

I like to believe that Busch was pushing a rain button as soon as Suarez got the lead from the pitstop. And when NASCAR tried to defy him and God by racing when it was lightning and raining (wtf was that?) it came down even harder KEK

Suarez was a mentee of Kyle, both were shown the door from Gibbs and Toyota, both drove Chevies. I'd say this is the new Steve Park winning after Dale died moment.
>>
>>154845593
I do feel bad and it would've made for an amazing story after the injury almost derailed everything. But at the same time Felix deserved that win and should've won under caution. Dont care what anybody says but that red flag was nascar tier shit. Its okay for a race to end under caution.

>>154845545
Hes been great all year and driving with a chip on his shoulder with how he felt he wasn't given a fair shake at Trackhouse, weather that was true or cope hes been putting his driving where his mouth is. And all the ties to Kyle make it sweeter.

Anon I will offer the 30,000 foot overview

F1 (and european racing in general) has never produced a good racing product. Dating back to the 1930's and then into the 1950's after the war it's always been used as a tech showcase and playground for established supercar companies that have vastly different budgets and levels of engineering expertise. This often produces insane shit where passing almost never occurs, or the cars are so technologically advanced that racing CAN'T occur. The cars are either too reliant on clean airflow over the aerodynamics, or the cars are so fragile that you can't race wheel to wheel.

North American racing basically since its' inception in the 1950's grew from rednecks building cars in their garages without any sort of factory support, and then trying to entertain crowds. Baked into these sports from their inception has been the concept of rules packages to keep cars simple/cheap to build so the average person could compete, as well as parity so the winner was unpredictable and made races worth attending.

The Nhra and Nascar grew from what are essentially illegal hot-rodders trying to put on an unpredictable show that fans would want to see (and then influenced every other racing series in america), where European racing has been factory-backed snobbish retardation with little care for the entertainment factor since the start.

In 2026 when all these teams and seres have NASA-level funding, it makes any racing series started europe turn into boring tech slop whereas the 600 mile nascar race is won by a mexican guy driving a usa-themed camaro after outsmarting the guy from new zealand.

When my dad died I kept my circle so tight for a while. Wanted to just be around blood. For whatever reason I didn't want to be around ppl who'd tell me how sorry they were. This was like a week after too.

The strength showed by Brexton yesterday to not only face the world, but stay composed for his mother was incredible. Little dude grew into the man of the house overnight. Credit to nascar and Steve O for handling that right, but especially the Busch's for being so strong.

I suppose a lot of that is true, especally the tech part, but sports cars seem to have a cycle where they start racing pretty well, then they slowly raise the expense of competition to the point where one manufacturer bets the farm and everyone else quits. The same happened to the various touring car series and as far as I can tell, top rally. The only other options seem to be selling out the product entirely to fund the money fight, the F1 strategy, or regulating them into a defacto spec series, Hypercar, GT3/GT4 and TCR. Even then, Hypercar manufacturers are dropping out nearly as fast as they are entering.
>>
>>154846315
That's not a bad price. The only question is, can you get it home safely?
>>
>>154846668

>>
>>154847557
You should stop by the general at least once a week, if not daily. You can use the calendar on your phone the help remind you. Just make an event for May 1st.

I'm glad that worked out for you. The NASCAR restart ending was pretty intense. I'd rather O'Ward or Malukas had won, but whatever, it was exciting. A hell of a lot more so than last years race ending.
I seriously don't know why this board doesn't have the spoiler function since recording the big game (or race) to watch later had been a thing forever.
