Hi
>>
>>154889118
So what happened to Pool in October?
>>
>>154889257
Nnnnnnnnnnnn vivi!
>>
>>154889118
online opinions seem to be a bit split, many people are quite unhappy with the Rogers links, saying that he is too similar to Eze centrally and to Trossard out wide and would much rather we go for Barcola

what do you guys think?
>>
>>154889438
We'd actually have to be able to get Barcola, which seems far fetched right now.

I can't believe I'm this calm over a CL final, I was shitting myself over random league matches in October ffs.
>>
>>154889118
So I just read Bencho aint going no more to Arsenal but prefer Barcelona. So looks like we may have to go for someone else now. Gabriel Jesus is going for 20m max with mid table EPL and Palmeiras interested. Who is the next best thing to Bencho I wonder
>>
>>154889479
Free hit, innit? Most people expect PSG to win, so if we lose we can blame it on petrostates, we can blame it on the spirit of Luis Enrique's dead daughter, we can blame it on Timber's chocolate legs, but no one is going to say we choked it like they would if we lost the league. But with that all said, I think all Arsenal fans can see a way we *can* win, so there's still a degree of confidence.
>>
>>154889485
Who the FUCK is Bencho?
>>
>>154889501
It's more that finishing 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 1st has convinced me that even if we don't win it this year, we'll be in the mix again next year, and the year after, and the year after that. Arteta just doesn't quit.
>>
>>154889502
a certain, apparently, 100 million Pathetico striker!
>>
How’s everyone feeling about the Morgan Rogers rumor?
>>
>>154889485

That's great, don't want that faggot in Arsenal.
>>
>>154889485
Time for the annual save a Chelsea player. Bring in Jackson
>>
>>154889515
Can't take that for granted. After a UCL semi-final, final, and the Invincibles within a five year stretch, I didn't think Arsenal would suddenly shit the bed for the next 15 years.
>>
I’m convinced Declan Rice will not allow Arsenal to lose this final
Like he will die on that field before he lets PSG win it
>>
>>154889596
genuine question, is there even a single Chelsea player left worth saving ? Madueke was already highly questionable (for that price >we paid) but a decent backup for Saka who doesn’t mind riding the bench and is young is hard to find.
>>
>>154889585
The more english players the better.
>>
>>154889649
Pretty sure it was poor squad management and players getting poached by various teams. Players left and didn't get replaced with the same quality. It's a marker of a world class side, actually replacing players instead of getting cheap or young replacements. Arsenal isn't getting raided any time soon.
>>
>>154889696
Probably not in reality Jackson does have some redeeming qualities I think Arsenal could utilize but he’s very selfish and would throw off the team harmony Arteta has built. Hes the only lelsea player id consider
>>
>>154889728
Also helps that with the financial muscle of the EPL these days, there are barely a handful of clubs that would look financially more appealing to a player. Though I do worry this means we'll still be selling players for peanuts this summer since other leagues are comparatively hard up and can't afford the kind of wages Arsenal dish out.

Some outlets are really forcing this Rodgers meme

Barcelona are preparing first official bid for Julián Álvarez, to be sent soon — and without any players included.

Julián informed Atléti of desire to leave after rejecting a new deal months ago.

After direct meeting with agent & intermediaries, Barça will send a bid.

>>
So if alveraez 8s a no go then who else? I'd look at that lad who replace gyokeres at sporting. He'll be fairly affordable and it's not like the team creates good chances every game and it's just a lack of finishing, which is the case with havertz and jesus. Gyokeres puts chances away but they just need a reliable rotation option not an upgrade on gyokeres. Bin havertz and jesus off. The city game was inexcusable for havertz, don't care if he scored a header from a corner. Jesus sealed his fat against palace. He's not even old either. Could have gotten a comfortable hatrick. Gyok scores at least two of those.
>>
Poor Jack Wilshere, the balding has finally caught up with him. Looks grim. Time to go bald again lad.
>>
>>154889872
Isn't Kroupi, the Bournemouth kid, the hot young thing? Prem proven and the age profile would work.
>>
The thing that gets me about el Bencho is that his selling price to penny pinching pathetico was all a ruse. You can’t tell me the same team that refused to play Greaseman a certain amount of minutes/games to avoid paying extra to Barca is suddenly going to drop 3500 million yen on a bench player. Show me the pay stubs.

Unironically this. I obviously want us to win but half of me thinks we will fall short so I’m maybe mentally preparing myself for that.
Getting beat in a cagey close encounter would be preferable to us not even turning up and getting absolutely mauled every which way. Which would be meltdown inducing.
I guess, for me anyway, the leagues done and that’s the main thing.
I hope we can give them a good fucking fight, whatever happens
>>
>>154889885
Yeah you'd think he should be a priority. Fans will adore him as well for winning us the league with his goal. Right foot, could slot in left as a shartinelli replacement and cut in on the right foot. He's like a jesus regen because he's fairly small and agile. They should definitely go in hard for him. Bournemouth say he's not for sale so he's either going to be very expensive or it just isn't happening. I don't doubt the sporting lad is in a similar boat in that regard however, a bit of a piss take signing a teams striker, then pinching their replacement. If they can make the Kroupi deal happen then it's a masterful move for many reasons. But we'll see. He's 19 so another season or two banging in goals for bournemouth would suit him equally as well. With Iraola leaving it does create a bit of uncertainty however, will they stay in good form or crumble down the table? Would moving to arsenal offer more stability as a trade off for first team chances? It's an interesting move.

>>
>>154890246
Funny how plastics choose teams to infest that aren't mid table soul clubs, but instead top flight teams that compete in europe, win trophies and fight for leagues. Then suddenly it's not a local club anymore, it's a global club and the local fans are irrelevant. Glad arteta put that one to be with the team's anthem. Surprised they didn't make it some rap shite, but he's a smart man that understands it's a local club regardless if it's got fans from 3rd world countries.

>"Double pie and mash and liquor, a Cuppa Rosie Lee up chap"
>"Or watch retired gangsters bicker, everyday in Arthur's cafe"

>"But I see the remnants of the London that they thought they could erase"

Curious he'd pick this song when the club is meant to be a global franchise now. It's a song that reflects the local community very well. Maybe he understand that english football clubs are fundamentally built on their local community, making it a local club instead of an entirely corporate product.

For what possible fucking reason? Norgaard never played but at least he was available. Goretzka is never going to be played AND will be injured for 95% of his time at the club. It would be easier to just gather up all the money that would go towards his wages and just set fire to it.

Because the league was always the top priority. CL would be the cherry on top but it's not going to define our season now that we've gotten the league over the line. Ironically the relieving of pressure over the final will allow us to play better I think, kinda like how we used to go on good runs after the league has been lost.

Stealing a living, plus from the looks of it >we are going for a CF in the transfer market so what will Jesus even do anymore? Even if we exclude his wages, it's still not worth it to keep him around to play few minutes in the whole season. Might as well give that time to a young lad from the academy. There is literally no place if >we have Gyokeres + another striker + Havertz.
>>
Imagine a season just like Liverpool in the 2021/22 season. Losing the Premier League and Champions League.
I think had they won the league they would win the UCL. The pressure was all on them and Salah didn't look confident during the anthem.
>inb4 2019, 2021
For Arsenal it's different. Winning UCL is lowkey a bonus. With the league victory there is less pressure.
>>
>79M for anthony gordon

>>
>>154892855
Havertz isn't a pure bred striker. I think he'd slot in really well as a shadow striker but that requires a team that has a lot of control over the games they play, which we don't see. He would suit bursting into space that other players creates, notably gyokeres, instead of being a creative AM like odegaard. It can be very effective. Because he's tall as well, he could do the work for Gyokeres as a deep lying forward, so gyokeres can stay forward and havertz can win the ball, initiating a real counter instead of gyokeres holding up the ball, dwelling on it because no one is available and then losing possession. But no, arteta has played with 9 outfield men defending so that hasn't been possible. Feels some players have been really poorly utilised. And I get that's because the emphasis on defence which won a league title.

Jesus seems to like the idea of a false 9 type player that drifts back, but arsenal don't have that shadow striker type player who's played as an AM, so if the striker drifts back from their position no one takes that position. That would work because it creates chaotic marking when the marking players transition to another one. Seems like this season has been brute force instead of wonderful tactics. That is not reliable. Saka getting doubled up on with defenders has been brutal. Without the set pieces the results would likely have been different.

Arteta needs to reassess the tactics, I know teams play defensive and counter football against arsenal but you need to create more scoring opportunities from open play. Off season, the entire league will work on set piece defence, set piece attack and denying the opponents set pieces in the first place. False 9 players don't work so well these days because it's an established role, unlike when messi starting that type of play and it was an unknown force. Not like jesus can dribble through a midfield and defence like messi either. He's being selfish and needs to leave.

Doesn't matter it's based in holloway, strongest following is from holloway, until very recently pretty much the entirety of the fan base was from holloway. The club gets a morsel of success and suddenly foreign customers flood in and it's no longer a local club? They watch the matches on cracked streams and post on a forum, that is their contribution to the club and that's the reason it's supposedly a global club. LMAO.

I've got match programmes from 2006 yet I'm a zoomer, these posters are fucking scum. Despise the lefty idea that you can stake a claim to something that isn't yours because globalism = being fair and kind. Genuinely weak people who want to be part of something great because they have nothing of value in their grotty little incel lives.

Why would you support arsenal when your closest club is crystal palace? You are indeed a plastic.

>>154895781
Just because a group supports a certain idea or establishment, does not make it 'world wide'. There are fans world wide. But it's an english club based in holloway. It only exists because the community. The local fans have a much bigger influence on the club than some plastics from south korea or the middle east. How you cannot fathom this very basic concept, I don't know. Makes me feel you and the rest of these retards are indeed plastics, you know you're plastics but you maintain this retarded line because you want to feel part of this. You might be part of the fanbase, like enjoying marvel films and discussing it online, but that does not change the fact of the matter. Barcelona has a global fanbase but you'd sound utterly foolish to call it a 'global club' when it's clearly not. You're just a bit dumb lad.

Here we go a little outburst from the little plastic because he realised he isn't part of the club. A true fan has no issue being called a plastic or having his commitment questioned because he has no insecurity on the matter. It's just a foolish comment to him. The fact you're so keen to defend your custom to the the club, just like the american posters, makes me rather suspicious. Probably just stick to your local club if I were you. Or maybe you can give PSG a go if they win the final. That's the kinda attitude of most arsenal plas.. I mean fans, these days.

Sure you crack on if it's family, I mean you're only a half bred and you kinda understand the club to an extent, but not really. You're still a customer. Unless you know the local area well, have spent time there, still have ties, you don't really know what it means. I moved away years ago, but I still know people there, which makes me quarter plastic. Still go to games. Still follow and discuss the club. But I am not entirely in touch with the community because I don't live there, but I did and understand the general sentiment.

So yeah, you're definitely plastic.

>>

>>
>>154896498
Because you can't understand. The football club is based on the community and an integral part of the community. Status depends on your ties to the community. My closest club growing up was arsenal. Yours was palace? -1 point already. Then did you grow up in the area? Because that's another -1 point if you didn't. Do you still live there? -1 point if you don't (I don't so I cannot claim to be a complete fan, I am part plastic because I should support newcastle due to proximity and community integration).

Fan status is a points based system. Some pass, some partially pass, some fail entirely. Liking the club because they won trophies instantly grants -1 point and if you have zero points to start with, you are a total plastic (vast majority of modern fans).

>>154896522

You have missed the point. I don't claim this website as my own, I respect it's an american site with american rule systems, I respect it doesn't bow to random laws and principles that other countries would like to impose on it, that is what makes it great. That is the same principle with arsenal. It's an english club, it's a holloway club. It should not be claimed otherwise. We can enjoy the club, root for it but the buck stops when people start claiming it as their own. Is it irish? No. Is it african? No. Is it american? No. Is it a scouse club? Not at all. It's holloway's club.

If you tout things up in a logical quantative manner, such as a points system, it becomes much clearer and eradicates the blurred lines. I cannot stake a claim to the club because I am no longer part of the community but I'm pure bred in every other respect. Therefore allocating points to the qualifying parameters of club support provides a clear and quantitive measurement of an individuals legitimacy.

I find it to be a highly effective system personally.

Think of the plastic status as a social credit system. Because that is what it is. I think he will try and be more secure instead of trying to take the game to them immediately (imo - I could be, and hope I’m totally wrong here) so I think an capie lb position and maybe a ode/eze or a ode/zubi midfield with rice as the 6 will be the thing.
If he starts skelly, Then it’s a huge move imo and maybe he won’t buy another cm because he is a LEGO faggot.
With max potentially being our 10 and skelly our 8 we 100% million gorrilian % need a backup for deccers.

respectfully, i disagree completely.

he wasn't even all that great at the start of the season, he was just getting away with it because the rest of the team was fit and healthy and we were winning every game. He contributes nothing, there is absolutely nothing he can do that MLS can't at an even higher level.

blocking? marking? he does not and cannot do that because he has the physicality of a 12 year old

and passing? passing??? he would literally rather die than pass forward. All he does for 90 mins is get the ball from Saliba/Gabriel and give it to Rice.

MLS with his eyes closed is better than Zubi

so, did he find the ultimate strategy for talking to players as if they're 5 year olds? this really what works on the modern player? back in my day the best coaches were psychopaths who threw shit at players and put them through "the hair dryer" treatment and struck fear into their hearts, if they didn't play well, they'd never play again. but now they got bonsai trees and little cute messages. a sign of the times or is arteta just that smart for cracking the meta?

I don't think this team needs an Ozil/Sanchez tier transfer this summer, but it sure fucking deserves one for once

I would much rather take another key player from City now that Pep is leaving, weakening our direct opponents in the league is by far the best way strategy long term, doing what other teams used to do to us and stealing their players should be high priority going forward

>>
>>154899840
I have to agree with Bulgaria here. Zubimendi was one of our better players in the first half of the season (together with Gabriel, Rice and Timber). He has also scored so many clutch goals this season. And I would argue that he makes more progressive passes than Rice.

It is the teamwork with Rice I question. They haven't looked solid as a partnership at any time this season. Yet both has been great themselves. This has led to us conceding a hiph number or open unpressed shots just outside our penalty area. I'm open for dropping Zubi because of this, not because he himself has been bad (and I am sure as hell not dropping Rice).
>>
>>154903622
MLS is more physical, more direct and more driven in the games he's played. Part of me thinks he's perfect for the game tomorrow. Young, wants to prove himself, seems a little fearless. It's a risk but it's a high reward one. Get MLS in the starting 11 tomorrow. His form has been better, his duals are better, interception are better, pressing is better. Recently he's out performing zubi but a long way.
>>
>>154903656
Completely agree. Lewis-Skelly is press resistant and will do well against high pressing PSG. Superb form going into the game as well.

I also think Rice played higher up the pitch earlier in the season but has recently returned strictly to a DM and that suits his game much better.
>>
>>154903756
His tracking back is the best I've seen. Chases the opponent line like a lion and statches the ball back multiple times a game. Fans and pundits focus more on defending than they used to which is great because defending is also very fun, needless to say how important it is. His bing long bounding strides is a spectacle in itself.

Haven't noticed any tracking back ability on Lewis-Skelly myself. For me, he usually finds himself on the wrong side of the attacking players, pulls them down and gets a yellow card.

>>

>>
>>154904348
Same. Of course I'll be disappointed if we lose but the only way I would get really mad is if PSG doesn't show up (play a really bad game) and we still manage to lose.
>>
>>154904441
Blue marble opened up a big lead, but somehow bottled it.
>>
>>154904348
>>154904497
Not nervous as well. The main focus for the reasonable people was winning the League. That was always the most important object. Then all the ABAs created this trend that >we were going for the quadruple etc. I'm perfectly okay having won the League after so long. Winning the CL will be an amazing success as well but it's already a great season regardless.

Besides that , I also feel confident in the team as well. I think it will be an even game and >we can win it.

Winning the League did its best effect, washing the loserness off.
>>
>>154904348
In England, the league is the most important prize up for grabs since the competition is so demanding and it proves you are unarguably the best team in the country. With cup competitions, luck plays a big factor so while they are nice to win, they don't define your season. It's not like Spain, Germany or France, where the domestic league is a joke so success is only really defined by how well you do in Europe.

Also, PSG are favourites going into the final. So even if Arsenal lose, it's hardly an embarrassment to lose to the reigning champions and what everyone considers to be the best team in the world right now.
>>
I need the UCL beating Bayern meant so much to me and I still remember the pain of losing 2006. Losing this isn't the end of the world but I want them to win it so much and finally get rid of those 2006 memories.
>>
This final is not some sort of 'bonus'. They earnt their place in this final. They are there on merit. It's a massive goal for the club, the players and the fans. A bonus is maybe the EFL cup, this is as big as the premier league. A loss would make it hurt less because they won the league for the first time in 22 years. But everyone should be hyped and not discussing their emotions over losing before the match has even begun. Can't believe what I've been reading the past few weeks. They are there to win, they will be disappointed if they lose and the fans should be too.

I'm feeling confident, the team is exceptional, they are riding a massive high, tactically they're suited to a PSG side better than anyone in the world right now. Time to break the curse. And they're going to do it.

I totally disagree. Winning the Champions League is way bigger than a Premier League title. That's why Liverpool fans STILL talk about that night in Istanbul back in 2005. I remember I was at uni when Chelsea won it for the first time and I lived with two of their fans and seeing them both going absolutely insane with sheer joy way beyond any of their league victories. We've been second in the League 3 seasons in a row, winning it has been long overdue. Yeah im ecstatic about it but it's more of a sigh of relief than out and out joy. This is only our second ever CL Final. Put another way, if we win the CL tomorrow I'm dropping everything and heading to London Sunday no matter what, if we don't then it's just meh and I won't bother with it.

ok im probably reading tooooooooooo much into this but... mikel has always been vocal about pods and combinations and chemistry etc. so ithink he played zubi at rb for a couple reasons - 1. confidence - i still trust you, you da man etc. 2. game time - not an important game, dont overdo it just go out there and play

3. learn how to see the game from rb - so like even its cala playing rb youd know where they exepct you to be as a dm/cm. youd alos learn how and where people want to recieve the ball from that postion.

4. illuminati - i dont know whos fit and who isnt but its not beyond possibility that mikel asks zubi to drift to the right in defence - spain played geoergia earlier etc etc - so that 1. it neutralizes the left wing threat 2. allows dec to drop into the cutback area. 3. allows for quick transtion - which might result in just idk someone passing back to raya but that means we still in control..................

No. The man was Arsenal's all-time top scorer, FFS. If you're not going to have a guy like that involved with the club, who are you going to pick? Mikael Silvestre?

That aside, Wright has achieved a sort of "national treasure" status in the wider UK now, is the most charismatic of the ex-Arsenal players, been a media fixture for decades now, is English, and isn't ashamed of his love for Arsenal (I often feel guys like Dixon and Merson have somehow come to dislike the club or try to overcorrect their fondness for the club by being overly critical of it).

The closer and closer the final gets, the more im starting the believe, and the more worried it's making me. If this team has taught me anything, they only deliver in big games when morale is at its absolute lowest. The moment things look positive, the reality check is loaded. The vibe around Arsenal right now is overwhelmingly positive, and im enjoying that, but the omen its setting is making the wait for the final torturous. I almost don't want the wait to end, at risk of killing the feeling

I dont want Eze or Zubi in the starting XI. Eze has some fantastic shooting from outside the penalty area but is invisible outside of those moments.

Zubi cant make a vertical pass to save his life and is awful when pressed, causing giveaways leading to dangerous goal scoring opportunities for the opposition.

You could also use Havertz over Gyökeres. Gabriel, Saliba, Calafiori, Merino, Havertz on corners would make PSG shit their pants. Trossard just outside of the box ready to shoot any rebounds.

Hope you're not the one missing the baptism

I am looking forward to watching the match. I am expecting the team to win. I will be very disappointed if they don't. I will be glad at least they won the league, but the first final in 20 years in the biggest competition in football. So yes I'll be disappointed, because I'm not an internet fan.

People saying Arsenal still have a good chance of making another final either next season or the following seasons, it could be another 20 years until we reach a CL final again.
>>
>>154918925
Ah well yeah I don't really care because I can't emotionally handle a defeat so I'm just going to say sure whatever haha at least we won the other thing xDD

Fucking bonehead plastics doing my head in. They might get in the final next year, they have been consistent for a few years now but as you say there is no guarantee of that. Doesn't matter anyway, they win today.
>>
About to head off to work. Ive got two zoomers to train today so I dont know if I should put it on in the background. Would have taken off had I not just come back from a two week vacation.
>>
my prediction is Arsenal or PSG will win the champions league

>Arne Slot actually fired
Big news, and they've missed out on Xabi.

You and I, and other non-Londoners do not get to say ”we” about Arsenal. I support Arsenal but I’m Swedish and have zero ties to North London.

Also, Merino will win it for Arsenal.

>Lots of excitement at the Arsenal fan park in Budapest. Emmanuel Eboue is here and has predicted a 2-0 win. He’s also promised to unleash a new dance if Arsenal get it done. “If we win tonight, I said to my wife I’m not coming home.”

>>154919386
Absolutely not, you're a palace fan.
>>
>3 out of our 4 rivals have new coaches
>They will need time to figure out the league and the new club
This might actually be a chance to retain our title bros. Continuity is very important
>>
T-minus four hours until we get to see some beautiful football being played during an Arsenal match (by the other team).
>>
>>154919401
How
>>
>>154919411
biggest threat is Alonso with no European distractions.
If we aren't completely fucked up by injuries, we'll retain the title easy
>>
>>154919411
Or Alonso could click with the players instantly and make a serious title challenge. We'll see.
