While much rarer, nature can spark devastating fires, primarily through:

>Lightning: Particularly long-lasting "hot lightning" strikes that hit dry ground and ignite tinder.
>Spontaneous combustion: In rare cases, organic material like compost or heavy brush can ferment and generate enough heat to ignite on its own.
>Volcanic eruptions: Lava and falling embers can instantly catch forests on fire.
>Sparks from rockfalls: Rocks tumbling down mountainsides can strike each other, producing a spark

Rocks creating forest fires is a kino thought

That is a boring wild fire cause. Natural wild fires are way cooler. All it takes is a piece of glass which is probably very common. The idea of a rock causing sparks or fermented vegetation baking is way cooler. Apparently much of the amazon was because humans created forest fires which added carbon to the soil and that carbon held more nutrients because it's molecular structure. Some of those pygmy tribes must have been pretty smart and innovative.

>Essential Oils: The leaves of the cistus plant are heavily coated in aromatic resins. These oils are highly combustible, which causes the plant to burn rapidly and intensely during wildfires.
>Fire Dependence (Pyrophyte): This flammability acts as an evolutionary survival tactic. The intense heat from the fires clears out surrounding vegetation, reducing competition for sunlight and resources.
>Seed Germination: The plant produces hard-coated seeds with high thermal resistance. After the fire has passed, the smoke and heat help break the seed dormancy, triggering a new generation of Cistus plants to thrive in the cleared area.

Wild fires might be one of the coolest things on earth. Incredible. Wild fires must be quite common for plant species to be able to adapt and evolve.

With Jonas Vingegaard reportedly down to 57kg this Tour vs 59-60kg at the Giro / last year the priority is clear.

Visma believes the Tour is won in the last week on the long mountain stages. Last year he was way more explosive than anyone would’ve thought, and almost matched Pogacar on certain efforts.

This year it’s back to what was working in 2022. A light non explosive Vingegaard is a bigger threat to Pogacar than a more explosive version

Having suffered from an abdominal infection in the days leading up to the Grand Départ, and despite making steady progress in his recovery, the demands of today's stage, raced in scorching temperatures approaching 40°C, ultimately proved too much.

After being dropped, De Lie did everything he could to stay in the race, supported for many kilometres by teammate Baptiste Veistroffer. The three Pyrenean climbs in the final part of the stage, combined with the extreme heat, made the challenge even tougher. To protect his health, the Belgian eventually stepped off his bike on the final climb of the day.

Arnaud De Lie:
"It's obviously a huge disappointment. I had worked for months to be ready for this Tour de France and I was dreaming of fighting for the sprint finishes. Unfortunately, this stomach infection weakened me a lot. I gave everything I had over the first two stages, but today I simply didn't have the legs to continue, especially in such extreme heat. I hung on in a small group behind Baptiste, but the succession of climbs in the final was just too demanding. I told Baptiste to go on so that he could make it back within the time limit. The only thing I can do now is focus on making a full recovery and come back stronger for the rest of the season."

letting him ride was pure humiliation ritual
>>

Pogacars performances are on order of magnitude more blatant than anything ever seen in cycling. For a 140 lbs rider to ride away from blocks of meat like Ganna on flat stages like he is on a motorcycle in classics, and beat Lance Armstrongs times by 10% in GTs, with never ending form is just beyond ridiculousness to anyone who has followed cycling for more than a couple years, on a team with two DS that should've been banned from cycling for life 15 years ago.
Yet we get crickets.
>>
>>156367219
besting times in endurance sports by like 2-3% becomes insanely sus, yet Pogacar is in the 10-12% better times...it's just complete nonsense.
>>
>>156367219
Don't forget that he was the best rider in the world by some margin, for them to go "oops we trained him wrong his whole life" and have him grow by 5-10% more.
>>
>>156366854
I'm turning that question around towards you

I am very much going along for the shake of it. I stopped caring about the dark mode stuff some time ago.
Seriously tho, why Ubuntu?
>>
>>156367678
Simple. It works well out of the box.
>>
>>156367157
Could they not just have brought a standin instead of letting him start?
>>
>>156367219
The media is cowardly and has tentatively addressed the 'claims' live on TNT a few times. Stepping on eggshells they explain "well, advancements in nutrition, training and bike technology has increased climb times". Naturally, but I don't think anyone has ever seen such a brutally dominant rider, much less one who can do it all season long. He could win everything if he wanted to but I suspect they're being somewhat cautious.

Armstrong is correct when he says 'stay in your lane'. He's taking the piss and once people start waking up, getting bored and asking questions, UCI and WADA answer to public sentiment more than they do their own suspicions. The sports establishments are all in on protecting the image of the sport, therefore they're all in on protecting poogacar and UAE. They must dismiss any questions as people who 'don't believe'. French are getting sick of him, and the rest will follow. I do not think they'll get away with this in it's entirety, even if it's a similar deal to the British Cycling and Wiggins 'package' bollocks. Also hope poogacar dies.

Among the "big" distros I found them the most unstable, with too many stale packages in their repo. Their shitty repackaging of all software introduces too many issues, and they keep picking up retarded projects only to drop them again a year or two after. Ontop of that their defaults are so bad that distros like Mint have huge success just shipping Ubuntu with sane defaults on top.

Haven't tried it for years, so maybe my issues are outdated.
>>
Vingegaard looking back was a clear singal he was fighting for 2nd place GC instead of trying to win.
>>
Why does poogacar still do that performative bow when he wins? No one likes him except the media and retarded italian and spanish brainlets. Only a small portion of their fans like him, often the low class retard cattle. The bow is so retarded and cringe like everything else about his personality. Jonas is actually based because he means his celebration which is for Trine, no one else. He's entirely genuine.

Vingegaard interview with Danish media TV2:
What are your thoughts after today’s stage?
>“It turned out to be quite a hard stage, but I think we got through it well and defended ourselves well. Of course I lose the leader’s jersey, and that’s obviously a bit disappointing, but on a finish like this I think I can be quite satisfied with it.”
>“We’re on the same time now, and that’s actually fine for us. We probably expected to be a little behind at this point, so it’s a good position for us,” says Jonas Vingegaard.
Are you surprised by how hard the stage turned out to be today?
>“Yes and no. I’m surprised that it ended up being the favourites who fought for the stage win today. We expected the breakaway to make it to the finish, but UAE wanted another victory, and they did a really good job of bringing back a very strong breakaway. They rode brilliantly.”
How do you assess Pogačar’s strength compared to your own after these two stages?
>“I think it’s difficult to judge. We’ve only raced on shorter climbs so far. Of course we did some longer climbs early in today’s stage, but that doesn’t really tell you much.”
>>
>>156368263
He was looking back to encourage a rider to come through in the hope to limit the time gap or have none at all. It's retarded but you see it sometimes. If 3 or 4 dudes come around then that's at least a second worth of space by the finish if you lack onto them.

Indeed.
I have night lamp toggled for the bluelight, darkmode on the OS and browser obviously. And for sites that do not have dark-mode versions dark-reader extension takes over.

No it's not. It slows down melatonin production so especially in the hours before you go to sleep it has a negative impact

Let's get back to reality guys, there is nothing fishboy does better in a GC than this Pogacar. 3 weeks: Pogacar. Long climbs: Pogacar. You're still living in pre-2024.

Now if there existed a 12% 20km climb, then the weight diff could get fishboy to maybe match him.

>>
>>156371365
If a full leadout from the bottom and Pog attacks at km 7, he drops the fish and wins but with a relatively small gap. With both in peak form of course.

Today no one helped PooAE. This must continue. Today it went to their plan but there was some ambition shown from numerous teams. That was a good break. More like this later in the race where you can start sending dangerous, GC threatening riders (they'll be protecting del burrito's GC position as because poogacar is basically untouchable) and that work load will ramp up more and more. The race needs chaos to overcome PooAE. I don't care if they win it, I just want them to suffer.

Why as the number 1 cyclist, likely in history, would you larp as a fucking dork rapper from america? Why can you not have your own personality? Why must you base your look and attitude off someone else? He's a weak bitch.

>>156386253
We can discuss our dying hatred for the demon slav all night, discussing our fantasies of his demise. For me it's probably something dramatic like a helicopter clipping a tree, then slicing him in two live on the tour coverage. I think that would be super epic and good for the sport. But I'd also take sepsis from a dodgy needle that he uses. Less fun but gets the job done.
>>
>>156367905
>The sports establishments are all in on protecting the image of the sport, therefore they're all in on protecting poogacar and UAE.
That sounds like a really easy way to get discredited and embarrassed like with what happened with Armstrong.
>>
>>156386851
Surely it won't happen again right?? Surely we have a contingency plan this time?

You are right, this is a very reckless game to play as a media donkey. They are not wise, nor particularly intelligent it seems. I notice Sean Kelly shuts his gob and says little about UAE and poogacar. Whether rob hatch was told by his handlers to come out with these statements, which I think is very likely, or whether he said it himself, he sounds like a fucking idiot. Top and bottom of it, do not mention doping in cycling. Do not defend riders or teams in this regard. If you know anything about the sport, it's a given they use substances that are likely banned. Morality is a different conversation but don't gaslight the public with statements you do not know is true. General competence of media donkeys is extremely low, they're binman tier.
