The big difference is our government doesnt fund soccer or almost any sport really. Somebody has to pay for that shit, and we're not a fan of forcing taxpayers to spend on soccer of all things. There are steps being taken to address the flaws of our youth system, but we need more interest in the sport to overcome it. Football, baseball, and basketball have great systems in place because people actually watch those.
