Klitschkos in their prime would still be dominant if they fought today. Hrgovic was eating shots all night and couldn't use his jab to hold off Itauma. Klitschkos would cut up Hrgovic's face easily and they both hit much harder also.
>>
No but seriously if you are a heavyweight boxer you land all your punches clean and they don't do any damage and you lose from being totally gassed out and drained how do you recover from that

You did everything right and won every round.

>you lose from being totally gassed out and drained

But you just pointed out one thing he did horribly wrong. It's called pacing yourself, and Itauma didn't have the experience to know to how to pace himself in a long fight, because he had literally never been in a fight longer than six rounds. Should have had a lighter touch before going in with the Croatian bvll who has a diesel engine.

Itauma was reckless with his movements. His gameplan was all wrong. He could have won on points, but decided to empty the entire tank to risky it all on a KO when he absolutely did not need to do that.
>>

>>
Guys watch the replay. Itauma got hit hard in the temple, it's possible he doesn't box again.
That was no leg injury at the end there.
>>
>>157530833
I wonder if there was a shot that fucked Itauma's equilibrium? some hook that grazed him on the temple maybe i dunno.
Maybe he really was just that gassed.
>>
>>157530865
The leg thing sounded like a cope.
The way Itauma was falling on the ropes looked like he was seriously concussed, not just limping. Hrgovic got some clean shots in there. If you're a smaller guy and you get hit with shots like that it can completely screw you up. Look at what happened to little Torrez Jr vs big Frank Sanchez. Another guy with misleading power but both him and Hrgovic hit hard and are heavy dudes.
>>

AJ is a complete joke at this point, it's hard to call anything he's in a good fight.

It's incredible that Hrgovic was able to take the punches from Moses.

Just a hard cunt that's all it is
>>
>>157530924
That's a crusher of a shot, his face is getting reformed like wax
>>
Maturing is realizing that Itauma is not an exceptionally hard hitter for a HW.
He knocked out the ghost of Whyte and Jermaine Fatlin. Wowie. Hrgovic was never in any real danger, even the knockdown was nothing but a flash knockdown.
Also Itauma was concussed as fuck by the end it wasn't just a cardio issue.
Hrgovic in a rematch retires him. Itauma is a fair-weather boxer, he doesn't have the stones for the grug division that is modern day HW
>>
>>157530935
>>It's incredible that Hrgovic was able to take the punches from Moses.
No it's not, Moses doesn't hit as hard as Zhang or Dubios. THAT was incredible that he sustained those. Compared to that Moses is a mosquito. That second half of the fight conditioning was a complete joke. Hrgovic has been in much tougher fights.
>>
>>157530918
his spine was jelly
>>
>>157530948
I'd fancy an Itauma vs Torrez at bridgerweight for all the belts
>>
>>157530958
Insane that you think Moses has weak punching power, he hits very hard evidently from his previous fights.
I think you are taking away from Hrgovic's chin and how incredibly hard he can get hit
>>
>>157530948
He got his knockouts from great timing and speed.

He kept throwing two punches instead of fast combinations. He bought into his own hype
>>
>>157530978
Torrez will get knocked out by an uppercut the way he dips all the time. He needs a lot more work
>>
>>157530981
I'm absolutely taking away from Hrgovic's chin because I just said he's been in there with harder hitting guys like Dubois and Zhang.

Lil Itauma does not hit harder than big Bang Zhang. He's mostly untested picking on old men. Hrgovic had his chin tested multiple times now. Itauma is simply too small to do that kind of damage against a fresh durable guy like Hrgovic who has never been down in his career. Once again, you're the insane one if you're trying to pretend Itauma hits harder than Bang or Dubois.
>>
Itauma vs Benavidez who wins and how
>>
Moses probably hits as hard as Usyk but he's not strategic in approach. He should've switched to the body and feinted like Usyk would to break him down
>>
>>157531011
Beanabidez because he's the more experienced fighter
>>
>>157531006
Maybe he doesn't hit as hard as Zang or Dubois, but some of the shots Moses landed would have knocked 95% of HW boxers out cold

Bare in mind the stoppage against Dubois wasn't obvious and i think it was a towel throw in

Hrogivc did say he was the best he fought but yeah i don't think Itauma hits like Zhang or Dubois. It was his speed that killed people. He did look like he troubled Hrgovic in there a couple of times but not too bad.
>>
>>157531019
Usyk would never peter out in the 6th round like that so that's a pretty off comparison.

He did have good upper body movement like Usyk, great speed and accuracy...for three rounds whereas Usyk can sustain that for 12 rounds and still have energy leftover.

Kid was carrying the weight of the entire british isles on his back. Of course he was gonna collapse under that pressure, especially with Davieson at the helm of the ship.
>Oooh he's the next Mike Tyson
Yeah but Mike had the same problem, that alone is a red flag. Genuinely what were they THINKING sending this kid to a 12 round fight with Hrgovic who is known to do well in the tail end of a fight. The styles were all wrong, all wrong for this. Too inexperienced, too much energy wasted early on.

I don't want to compare Itauma to the BUMS like Bumlanga or even Nick Ball but the stories are similar in that they get hyped up due to early KO streaks. Second they step out of their comfort zone it's joever. I think Itauma is way better than those guys but he has the same problem as Torrez Jr. Yeah he's an athetic fast moving guy but he's a smaller heavy weight. It's hard to do damage against those big guys. Usyk makes it look easy, but he had a lot of experience before attempting to take down giants, and people doubted him every step of the way. Itauma just hadn't been through the same type of journey, mostly light touches and old chinny men up to this point.

And yet Hrgovic is a massive 6'6" and outsized him. Hrgovic has fought even bigger heavies than him with Big Bang, then you have giants like Fury, Joshua, Wilder that were above the 6'4" line. Itauma is no Parker nor Kabayel, he simply does not have that same kind of style or boxing skills. Those guys know how to preserve themselves in a long fine and do not rely on power generally speaking. Hrgovic just looked like the much larger guy and trying to knock him out when you're a smaller, unproven fighter seems like a bad idea especially if you don't even bother trying to conserve your energy to survive the fight. Genuinely, what was their game plan? It's like if caleb plant were going in trying to knock out Canelo, a guy who had never been down in his career.

I also think as far as Britbucks go, Dubois is heavier, taller, and more muscly. A natural heavyweight. I still consider Itauma on the smaller, leaner side. Seems more like Usyk's size at 6'3", it was hard to imagine Itauma as 6'4" because he looked small in there.

>and fucking up his lungs smoking weed
Lol or maybe it's the fact he's never been past 6 rounds in his career. But yes blame it on the maryjewuana and not lack of experience/conditioning. Genuinely what did people expect? We've never seen him show off his stamina reserves before
>>
>>157532092
Not saying it was just the weed but it’s retarded to smoke anything when you’re an athlete in an endurance sport. Why many athletes use chew or puff cigars for a fix
>>
>>157532092
that is why he is so calm for his age..... he was just blazed 24/7
>>
>>157532125
Bro James Toney was fucking cigars and shit. It's no excuse. Itauma was just lacking experience and conditioning, simple as. I don't buy the weed excuse, but I don't agree a fighter should be smoking weed either.

Those first few rounds, did he look like he was high to you? No, he was on point. His accuracy was great. His shots were tight. His timing was tight. But he's never been in a long fight against a young massive, tough as nails dude like Hrgovic. This was too early for him. There was just no way he was winning this. He needed another fight or ten to actually experience what it's like to be in a drawn out fight like this. Problem is the journeymen they were putting in front of him were too weak to handle his initial assault. Imo just too soon, he was too young. He could be straight edge and he'd still lose. Or maybe if he smoked some crack like Sweet Pea he'd have better movement.

Also instead of blaming Itauma for being retarded, you need to blame his coaches and with Ben Davison, really does anything else need to be said? Stop hiring that idiot and get a real coach.

First of all, you puff cigars. Second I’m not saying it’s an escuse but just how he
immature Moses was. Hopefully it’s a leaning experience. Gets a better trainer and takes endurance seriously and not arrogantly thinking he can knock anyone out

Personally I wanted to see Itauma vs Torrez as two untested guys, but after Sanchez obliterated I guess people lost interest. Still, I think if Itauma fought Sanchez it would end much in the same way as it ended for Torrez and as it ended for Itauma tonight. Just because people want him to go and fight Usyk doesn't mean he should lol. Although maybe now that Usyk is aging he could but I still think he's too inexperienced if he's gonna gas out like this. "Be careful what you wish for" is all I can say.
>>
he was actually looking very decent otherwise but he punched himself out like an amateur. why the fuck didnt his corner notice what he was doing? he throws 110% effort on everything including shots that do almost nothing, and then he resets while looking tired as fuck
then he tries to firefight while having absolutely nothing in the tank against someone he already knows he cant really hurt

what a retarded amateurish way to lose a title fight

Absolute fucking retarded reasoning. If your clearly outboxing an opponent who is able to take all of your best shots and whos entire strategy is clearly meant to be banking on your inexperience in the later rounds, you absolutely have to pace yourself well. Itauma couldve won that fight so easily if he literally just chose to take a round or 2 off and stay on the backfoot to catch his breath, instead he keeps throwing non stop trying to KO him which wasnt helped by ben davidson egging him on like a fool.

>gets Pat McCormack knocked out by massive underdog Conah Walker
>get Moses Itauma beat in a fight he should’ve won 9/10 times by urging him to go for the KO when he was completely gassed
At this point he is more well known for causing massive upset losses for his fighters than victories. One thing I will give yanks is all their trainers are really good, like Hrgovic and Abel Sanchez who cornered and coached him perfectly. That’s the reason Tyson Fury dropped Ben after one fight and went to Sugar Hill.
>>
>>157535284
Bit of a trvke, although I also think there is truth in that Itauma was horribly unprepared to go the full 12 rounds against a guy like Hrgovic. Yes, Hrgovic led him into many traps. Yes, Hrgovic was allowing him to tire himself out early on. This was also a problem of strategy on Itauma's part. Remember a boxer is not expected to go in there alone. A coach is there to give them guidance and help devise a strategy, and I feel Ben Davison failed in that regard as well. All that aside, Hrgovic may come off as an oaf but he's more cunning than he looks. All of that was intentional, Itauma took the bait, and he couldn't handle the returning fire. But he very much did gas out, and for heavyweights it remains a common issue for them to not have the stamina reserves to weather long fights. As many have said Itauma could have preserved himself, but he emptied the tank chasing after a knockdown that wasn't gonna come. I believe that was Hrgovic's intention from the beginning.

If you want to compare hand speed and accuracy, Itauma had him beat. But it wasn't sustainable in the long run. Usyk is one of the few boxers at heavy that can actually sustain that kind of movement and volume at heavy, or at least he used to be. I don't think he can anymore.

>>
>>157535798
>Usyk is one of the few boxers at heavy that can actually sustain that kind of movement and volume at heavy
To add to that, Usyk CONDITIONS for that kind of high volume, high movement fight to go to the 12 rounds, so he'd often train for 15 rounds or longer.

Itauma on the other hand mentioned in interviews that he wasn't worried about that, wasn't planning for the fight to go the distance, wasn't worried about Hrgovic's chin and so on. Once again the guy has literally never fought longer than a six round fight. Should have been a huge red flag for everyone involved.

Itauma emptied the tank because he thought he could win, he had no reserves, and Hrgovic finished him off. Blame it on whatever you want. The dumbass kid played himself. Footballers die from heart attacks. Itauma was doing the equivalent of non stop sprinting while also being walked down by a much bigger man which is already tiring. You’re really trying to sell the idea that Hrgovic outboxed him but Moses was winning every round.

This. Itauma took severe punishment to the temple. While Itauma was busy trying to crack Filip's chin for a KO highlight, the cold-blooded Hrgovic was trying to kill Itauma from the start. Itauma's temple was very exposed throughout the fight due to his aggressive "roll the dice" boxing style.
>>
>>157535906
When did I say that Hrgovic outboxed him? I'm saying he got carried out on a stretcher bc he was hurt not just fatigued.
>>
>>157535939
Yes hurt from fatigue and pure exhaustion not from punches. Hrgovic did not land anything to cause that. Sorry but I don’t live in make believe world where Hrgovic supposedly landed some devastating punches because he simply didn’t. You could see Moses wincing even when Hrgovic wasnt punching his heart was about to burst.
>>
Another thing to keep in mind for yanks. What you just witnessed was real boxing. 2 men going to war wearing their hearts on their sleeves and fighting with pure intent to kill. I have no doubt if a yank was in the ring last night they would have died from pure fright. Yank “boxing” is tel aviv tap dancing compared to what we just witnessed. Stay. In. Your. Lane.

lmao

not really, they were trying to bait each other into a trap a lot, itaumas lack of experience showed, put he set up some nice traps along the way, altho he'd be a bit hesitant to go in for the kill at the right times.

the actual game plan was mostly great, he got his rhythm down perfectly, countered nicely, but pacing was terrible and he overcommited on failing shots, leading to exhaustion. i assume both his "no long sparring" and him wanting to prove he is not a kid and get the KO got to him. the thing is hrgovic has a granite chin, but he also drops his defense after a combo goes on longer than 3-4 punches, yet itauma was constantly going for that 3rd/4th power shot, which he'd fail and throw himself out. but the loss was mostly due to being gassed.

if in any case it was concussion or liver shot, then holy shit itauma really has the grits to go into wars, not many try to fight in that state and bigger men have fallen to these. but it wasnt, it was just the gas tank.

but i mean, who knows, maybe you, random guy on 4chan, know better than the rest of the world that was watching, even Filip himself who was in the ring and said he got beat and lost every round until itauma gassed.

This.
Brits were desperate to replace aging AJ/Fury with Itauma and pushed him too soon. The smart thing to do would have been to gain more experience for 1-2 years against guys in the top 20-10 like Torrez or Vianello, yet they made him rank 1 without any wins against other top 10 boxers.

Weren't there talks of Pulev vs Itauma when Pulev still had the belt? Itauma could have beaten another old guy and larp as the champ. Then Gassiev beat Pulev instead and they picked Hrgovic because of the McKean fight.

Why do people think Itauma would have won if he paced himself better. You can't assume that he would dominate the early rounds in the same way, and then cruise himself to a decision with for the remainder of the rounds, if he paces himself. Him going for a decision win is unproven, just like his gas tank and the main reason why he looks good, is because of his high pace. Especially when you consider that he "only" dominated 8 rounds, which is just 1 round more than the minimum 7 for a decision win. And even towards the end of the 8th round he already barely struggling to stand.

It's basically like how Fury looked good in the early rounds in his first fight against Usyk, but got tired and hurt in the latter rounds and then lost a close split decision. Many claimed that he could win the rematch if he paced himself better, which he did so. But that ended up in a more dominant unanimous decision win for Usyk, despite Fury ending the fight less tired and hurt, compared to the first fight.

>>157537218
It's a stupid argument anyway, since he would have gotten knocked out if the fight didn't get stopped. He resigned the moment, the moment he started facing adversity and the opponent started turning things around. Itauma would've basically gotten Deontay Wilder'd, if his team didn't throw in the towel and stop the fight early. The score of the fight is irrelevant if you can't make it past 12 rounds.

>Why do people think Itauma would have won if he paced himself better.
Hrgovic would have gotten robbed on points 100% if it went to decision, no matter who won how many rounds
but yeah, there is no guarantee Itauma would have survived 12 rounds when he was already dropping from exhaustion by round 9. maybe his conditioning and training just wasn't good enough

Let's be honest about Hrgovic's performance, he fought like shit. He was out boxed, out slugged, out worked, in every round except round 3 or 4 where he slowed down a bit. It wasn't even competitive, this isn't like Chavez extracting from Taylor until he landed the final shot in the 12th. Itauma countered everything Hrgovic had, even Hrgovic admitted he was so fast he couldn't see the punches or land on the other guy. If Itauma just slowed down he would've cruised to an easy victory. A bizarre way to lose.
>>

Get up and do road work, and yeah this is on Ben. If you are his trainer, you should know the conditioning of your fighter. Ben also let Wardley almost get killed in the ring against Dubois and now Itauma with with Hrgovic. Very low IQ corner gameplan wise
>>

Hrgovics just got lucky. That one punch popped a brain vessel or something. I think Itauma might be retarded for life. Good for Hrgovics I guess.

I'm waiting to hear from Itauma's team what happened at the end. From replay Hrgovic did land a left hook, didn't look hard though. If Itauma really almost killed himself from throwing too much while ahead on every round then he's the dumbest fighter of all time

you can only work with what you’ve got. he’s never going to be faster than Moses. he and his team explicitly said that their plan was to take him into deep waters. as early as round 3 he was landing enough to keep Moses working, moving around and expending energy. It wasn’t a guaranteed path to victory but it was his only path.

>>
>>157537696
How the fuck do you people keep coping like this?

Gas tank is important It doesnt matter if you look super good in the early rounds if its costing you that much. Itauma looked shot to shit because the punches Hrgovich did land were towards the end of rounds when Itauma was naturally more tired. Those punches are the ones that hurt the most. Itauma was visibly in pain.

Hrgovish knew he wasnt gonna match Itauma for speed and counter punching. So he bid his time and waited for Itauma to empty his gas tank so that he could land a few powerful shots that hurt Itaumas structure. Itauma could barely walk you think he was juat tired? He was obviously hurt. Hrgovich hurt him far more severely than Itauma hurt Hrgovich.

But if you think boxing is used on highlight moments and not full rounds, like a complete tourist, then yeah, Itauma looked better than Hrgovich every moment but the moments that mattered.

It doesnt matter how good you can box if you cant last the whole fight. Anyone can be dangerous in 30 seconds. It would be stupid for Hrgovich to try and do more agaisnt a younger, sharper opponent. He just did barely enough to keep Itauma busy while he was eating shots. Its a risky strategy that ultimately paid off big time.

Saying Hrgovich just "got lucky" because he e plated a massive weakness in his opponents style is a massive, blatant cope. Conditioning wins fights more than mere boxing ability and hand speed does.

>You don't know shit about boxing
Sure I dont. Thats why Itauma had to leave on a stretcher. Thats why he looked like he had been drugged going into the 9th.

Hrgovich looked good against Dubois for 6 rounds. So what? He needs to look good for 12 or he needs to knock him out. You dont win fights by looking good before you get stopped you retard.

Landing punches when your opponent has a full talk isnt as damaging as landing punches while his tank is empty. I thought this was common knowledge agaisnt boxing "fans" but I guess when youre emotionally invested in one fighter instead of the fight itself ou need to cope when it doesnt go your way. Having a preferred fighter is OK but this excuse making is pathetic.

It would have been luck if Hrgovich landed a hail Mary overhand he wasnt even looking at and KOd Itauma then and there. But this wasnt luck, this was gameplan, you could hear Hrgovichs corner telling him to be patient and to wait for Itauma to fade and thats exactly what he did. It couldnt have worked better actually.

Oh Hrgovich looked like shit going 50% agaisnt a younger, faster opponent going at 120%. Yeah no shit. Itauma looked far worse at the end than Hrgovich did the entire fight. Why the double standard, becaue you wanted Itauma to win, so whenever it doesnt go your way the excuses start coming.
