MAYBE if AB didn't have negative baggage they would have considered him a Sterling Sharpe type of candidate (someone who makes it in as a senior selection far into the future) assuming his stats stayed where they are currently.Remember character is a big factor, they made T.O. a certified first ballot level player wait a year due to character concerns, but they couldn't deny him that his place because his rankings in rec yards and rec TDs was undeniable, when your 2nd all time in both it's impossible to ignore.Where does AB rank in yards, receptions, rec TDs? Not in the top 20 in any of those categories. Yes he had an incredible stretch and was a multiple 1st team All Pro WR as other great WRs have been, but those factors can forgotten and overshadowed. When people look at rankings they want to see where you stand when it's all said and done and your impact on the game most importantly.I agree that he had an incredible run but in my opinion I wouldn't say he's a hall of famer based on my metrics.
