I have to say, I think Brisbane are overvalued in the Grand Final odds.
Freo already did a number on them at the Gabba this year, and I think they match up really well on Brisbane.
Brisbane don't have an answer for Luke Jackson. He beats Draper and Fort easily.
Fremantle have a strong defence, Brisbane have a very poor defence.
I get that Freo have been pretty rattled across the finals, but I think they're due for a good one. If the weather is dry they should be the better side on the day than Brisbane.

>Who derailed their team's season more? Isaac Heeney or Jarman Impey?
>>
Here's the thing about the Impey incident - he had no prior opportunity.
If he dropped the ball without legally disposing of it, it would've been play-on. Or at least it should be play-on, but sometimes the umps will randomly call holding the ball anyway.

Always has been, and always will be a stupid rule. Way too many semantics, and they change every week.

I think the Brisbane player is grabbing his penis to distract him. Rather than getting rid of the ball he is writhing in pain.
>>
>>157802845
You're missing the point retard, but I don't blame you, holding the ball has so many semantics that brainlets like you will never fully understand the dumb rule.
If you actually listen to what razor ray says on 360, you would know Impey was allowed to drop the ball in this situation, especially right as he's being tackled, and that would not count as incorrect disposal/holding the ball.
He got pinged specifically because he held the ball with one hand rather than drop it. naturally players do not memorize all the semantics of what they can and can't do.

>naturally players do not memorize all the semantics of what they can and can't do.
Why not? Well run clubs sit the players down and explain the rules to the players in detail.

It's a cut throat final, the heat is on, it's do or die, bodies on the line, emotions running high.
In the midst of an intense skirmish, do you really believe any player is going to think to themselves "right, if i pick up the ball, proceed to get tackled, then drop the ball within 0.27 seconds of being tackled, i may technically be entitled to an incorrect disposal by the letter of the law. but this also comes with the risk of the umpire paying it anyway because they're always inconsistent".

In the third quarter, Impey actually did get tackled when it looked like he got a handball away, and the ump pinged him for holding the ball. That moment was probably running through his mind in the final seconds, so he was reluctant to try getting rid of it and it backfired.
Also shortly after that holding the ball in the third quarter, Ryan Lester got tackled, clearly didn't dispose of the ball correctly when he had prior, but the ump didn't pay it, and Brisbane went onto score another goal from that.

Just a stupid rule. Never been consistently adjudicated in 30+ years.

>>In the midst of an intense skirmish, do you really believe any player is going to think to themselves
>"Shit, I got tackled. But I've got an arm free and need to get rid of it"
Yes, 100%.

>In the third quarter, Impey actually did get tackled when it looked like he got a handball away, and the ump pinged him for holding the ball.
He got pinged for throwing it.
>>
>>157803298
Once again, you're ignoring that he was legally entitled to drop the ball in the final minute. No doubt you would've been kvetching if he dropped it and didn't get pinged, even though the rules say you're allowed to.

>He got pinged for throwing it.
And on replays, it looked like a handball. Certainly more of a handball than what Lester got away with 3 minutes later.
>>
>>157803412
>legally entitled to drop the ball
Not drop it, no.
Make an attempt to dispose of it.
>>
>>157803247

>>
>>157803432
You don't know the rules.
Razer has gone through hundreds of different cases like this on 360 this year. You are allowed to drop the ball immediately after being tackled. That is 100% the letter of the law. If Impey dropped it when McCluggage wrapped him up, it's play on.
>>
>>157803478
Throw/drop the ball at your feet in an attempt to kick it? Play on.
Have your arm fully extended to the side and drop the ball? Free kick.
>>
>>157803509
>Throw/drop the ball at your feet in an attempt to kick it?
Nope. You're allowed to drop it in any way, so long as you were immediately tackled and didn't have prior.
Don't like it? Doesn't matter, that's the rule.

>Hawks coach Sam Mitchell has called on all fans to express their emotions responsibly after fans threw bottles at the umpires as they left the MCG tonight.

>Mitchell saw the bottles and asked media at his press conference what had happened. When told about it, he called on the fans to be better.

>“I saw that on the ground. What happened there?” Mitchell said.

>“The emotion of sport is why we love it so much – all sports, but ours in particular. The beauty of the game is the emotion and how it makes you feel. At the end of the game, I didn’t know what to do. Part of me wanted to break down in tears, part of me wanted to scream with rage, and part of me wanted to throw chairs.

that is quite literally what is expected of them and why they are paid so highly for menial physical work. they're not retards on alf picking lint out of their belly buttons. pricks like you end up pretending some cunt flopping over a player taking a mark isn't deliberately holding up play because "well uhh it's a tough gig". same as the logic used to defend scumpires.
>>
>>157803697
Morons like you are never able to explain why the rule is always inconsistent.
If you have too many semantics saturating a single rule, AND those semantics change week by week, then it's only going to result in confusion.
Alas, you're too stupid for this discussion.

"Ugly scenes as angry Hawthorn fans hurl bottles at umpires after preliminary final loss to Brisbane
The officials were quickly escorted off the field after the controversial finish."

Absolutely disgusting that hawk fans try to assault (yes, throwing objects is assault) umpires.

They deserve lifelong bans

He wants holding the ball to be removed and is generally being called a retard. A good read.

Watson smothered this kick and then Hawthorn went down to their end and missed on the siren.
Was wondering if I missed something when it wasn't a 50 against them, but no. Umps were just favouring Hawthorn.
