In the NL you'd bunt for the pitcher, save your pinch hitters for the pitcher's spot and then the only real strategy was like, double switching to avoid the pitcher's spot coming up or leaving a pinch hitter in and pulling another player. gAyL DH style baseball has more strategy in that you can pinch hit or pinch run for players without needing to save a pinch hitter for the pitcher, you can bunt at different times and you can do other weird shit with the pitchers since you don't need to worry about the pitcher's spot
