Discuss ideas for mega-torrents/compilations, the potential organizations thereof and issues preventing their creation (other than lacking effort)

Heres 4 of mine:
>patent megatorrent categorized by the target languge
>all unranked osu! beatmaps
>coloring books (so I can convert them all to vectors)
>volumetric CT/X-ray (youtu.be/watch?v=stFDc82hC-A) render of every extant animal on earth along with a standard skeleton 3d scan of every extinct animal on earth (data doesn't exist for this)

Why so? My reasons for thinking they are worthy of one
>Patents
The only good thing to come of IP law due to it neccessitating an often obnoxiously worded but thorough overview of plenty of interesting technological matters which thus creates a massive archive of such. However searching for patents across various databases is a bitch. Fixing this, it's potential historical/utilitarian value, and it's massive size make it worthy for a torrent (which is better as a torent due to the last point).
>osu
Probably unneccesary due to the games prominence. But the creator of the game who also manages the server which hosts all the levels has in the past mass deleted beatmaps. The game only has mirrors for ranked beatmaps. But the ranking system of that game is a lot of mental mastrubation about fitting the "standards" for quality rather than anything objective and as such lots of good beatmaps lay in the unranked and thus un-mirrored sections. Also downloading beatmaps in bulk is a bitch.
>coloring books
fair enough, more a personal thing and in any case finding scans of such or going through the trouble of making such is likely more trouble than it's worth.
>ct scans
Would be cool to be able to dissect any animal on my computer or use such as reference to make new 3d monsters.

>Wannabe Janny is incapable of distinguishing a thread for discussion of that which doesn't exist (yet) and that which asks what could be answered by btdig in 5 seconds, yet implies anyways so they can feel like an arbiter of quality on /t/ of all places
>Doesn't know how to sage or purposefully doesn't so his epic post is seen by all
Checks out.
I was originally going to leave it at that upon seeing this post, but you know, I'm interested in hearing about ideas for archival efforts, so I'll address this in earnest with less shitposting:

(cont)
The implication is that the OP purpose is to try to beckon another to make the 4 listed ideas. Ok sure, of course if I'm bringing them up I would enjoy another doing it for me, but that's not the main point and even if it was that doesn't change that I phrased the post in such a way that the main focus of the thread is much more general and open ended than that. Also, the topic matter of this thread inherently implies the thing in question doesn't exist in a comprehensive manner and so much more is worth discussing in regards to such (when compared to other threds). Moreover, why even bother caring about requests for creation? Surely, unlike standard spoonfeeding requests, if even only one were to post a decent suggestion which then would lead to it being eventually fulfilled this would be a positive direction and this thread could be considered a success? Also, since when have people even cared for requests? Just look at the state of the board:
Any post that is a general on this board, which itself makes up greater than half of /t/' s pph is a thinly veiled request thread. All of them will have some, likely the same as the last, token magnets followed by 100 "Anyone have X?" posts. Well, except the tweetney and english audio porn threads who don't post any dls at all nor discuss anything regarding torrents or alternative methods of file sharing. The sticky has been ignored for a long time now and that will likely continue to be the case. You being nitpicky with an implication for sake of such a board seems somewhat misplaced as a result.

Moreover one could ask themselves where does the value in a torrent board lie in the first place? What would constitute a worthy post?
Boards generally fall under three general categories; those for discussion (a,lit,k,v), those for information or the potential gaining of (wsr, sci), and those for the posting of media (f, gif,any porn board). /t/, loosely falls under the third yet serves little purpose for such as torrents have lots of public sites for sharing with better formatting for such, and indeed most purposes which someone would come here for could be better served by referring to a listing of such sites or searching on btdig. As such the only thread I could see in this regard as being quality is one whose topic matter falls outside of the typical scope of most sites where gaining seeds is thus of interest; the odd torrents. But this is an imageboard, so what of discussion (which isnt often possible on those other sites)? Well there's not much; the only one you could perhaps have depthful discussion towards is the operation of the bittorrent protocol itself and things which make use of it, you could discuss software but theres hardly anything to talk about, the same could be said to hardware. What's left is that which pertains to the content of the torrents themselves, where such is posted or the organization of the torrent contents. My thread seeks to discuss the potential existence of odd torrents or the creation thereof, and as such pertain to the only torrents worth coming here for (for reasons described above), as well as to what little you could discuss regrding the potential archival process for sake of the creation of such torrents (the last listed topic of discussion). And thus when compared to the countless trash porn 5 post threads that slide in 2 weeks or the endless generals where nothing of substance is posted I think this thread is thus worthy of it's own in the off chance that something potentially interesting becomes of it.

I think a lot of people who come here looking for random games/ books or the latest show/movie are just kinda put off by a lot of the gooner torrents, thats kinda why we have /gif/ a nsfw containment board so /wsg/ doesn't get shitted up.

It would maybe be a bigger issue if there was a good community around sharing certain things but with the nature of anything under copyright being fought for and this being a very public site I don't know how feasible sharing anything worthwhile is. maybe more threads to get people familiar with torrenting or sharing trackers/sites people use would be useful because I mostly come here for whatever educational content there is and it is always overshadowed by dozens of gross porn threads and don't know any websites that specialize in what I want to torrent, so everything I have goes unshared and one of my few outlets to fill up my hard drives is this site.

anyways, here's my contribution:
>all books before invention of printing press
>methods of printing including creation of rudimentary printers, modern printer tech fixes and homemade ink
>fitness torrent with a flowchart for beginners depending on exercise preference, limitations, etc.
>puzzles, brain teasers, optical illusions comp

>books of old
The british library's digital database was supposedly leaked recently which may be of interest in case they had something unreleased there.
>Printing tech
Photocopying may also be worth including in this since it's method sometimes relies upon alternate mediums more similar to photography (see wikipedia.org/wiki/Contact_copier)
Also not relevant to the archive, but what would be your desired scope? If it's text only I imagine the technology could be greatly simplified. The fuel manufacturing I think is the biggest determinant towards any method being implemented on a small scale. Similarly, if a diy method for the manufacturing of thermal paper was feasible, I would be interested in using such for non-archival purposes due to it not requiring moving parts.

Also, Your last one made me think of Sokoban which then reminded me of Pushmo. There used to be an online archive for miiverse, the network which hosted the user made levels, but it has since been (https://archiverse.guide/) taken down. I had thought of scraping this browsable archive with tool such as gallery-dl a few years ago as opposed to consulting the database as a result of it's organization but the site wasn't laid out in discrete pages (instead infinitely scrolling) so I figured it would be a nuisance and put it off until I forgot; though if it had date filtering I likely could've created the same affect. In any case now that I see this is gone if I want access to these levels I likely need to consult said dataset (https://archive.org/details/archiveteam_miiverse) so perhaps before this thread slides I will have made such. Will likely simply organize the folders by author then name the files in part or edit the metadata to indicate year though ideally if there was a way to automate the extraction of level data from the qr code it's contained in then
some database could be made such as sqlite or something. Though I know nothing regarding so probably not.

Anyhow, due to the above, if anyone is familiar with the wii u library and knows of any other games whose miiverse image content is pertinent to the game for some reason, then in the case that it is trivial to attain such data while fetching the pushmo levels I'll consider doing it alongside.

visually stunning movies in 4k. to test TVs, monitors, and home theaters with, for example, but also to have a bunch of movies in a resolution at which (good) torrents are harder to come by -all in one place, bundled for our viewing pleasure.

https://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/28305 ; if webarchive scraped the sites listed there then perhaps you could use this to fetch downloads of loose ends or at the very least as a checklist. Im unfamiliar with TES modding and so can't discern whether 18000 is a fair quantity or not, but it seems like a lot.

I'd really like a compilation of photobooks. Art books are already hard to find on the major book trackers, but photobooks are almost nowhere to be found. I've collected a few, like the one for Cindy Sherman's Untitled Series. Otherwise, it's slim pickings out there. Maybe someone can direct me to a place where I can find them? I've got a good ratio on redacted.

Absolute shot in the dark, but I just found that http://oldiznew.com/ is no longer up. Site where a hobbyist restored and colorized vintage pinup photographs.
Anyone happen to archive that site? Wayback Machine has next to nothing from it. I even tried contacting the email listed on the about, but it doesn't exist anymore.
