THX 1138 (1971) 1st Directors Cut
35mm scan of a print for the "first directors cut" which was done when the film was reissued in theatres in 1977 or 78. From what I understand the differences between this and the original theatrical cut are miniscule and negligible.
This is an older 720p scan so it's not really great quality but still one of the best options for watching this version of the film which hasn't been available anywhere since the 2004 directors cut. Only other options for watching this cut are going back to VHS or Laserdisc.

Speaking of this!

There are a lot of well-indexed and in-demand torrents from rarbg (rip), still available to be found all over the web, dying or dead, which could be easily revived by joining the swarm if you have the movie - however, rarbg's torrents typically have a rarbg.txt in them (and a donotmirror.exe). This rarbg.txt isn't always the exact same file, there are different versions of it, I think they were changing every few months or so while rarbg was alive.

To successfully revive a dead rarbg torrent, you need to have not only the movie.mkv, but also the specific rarbg.txt from that particular torrent. Without it, you will NEVER be able to seed the last piece of the torrent, and therefore you'll never be able to give the final part of the movie.mkv to people who leech from you. The file will be either corrupted, or even totally unplayable (if the movie.mkv's name is alphabetically later than rarbg.txt and shares the header part with it, not the final part).

So the question is...

Is there a collection of all the various rarbg.txt from various torrents, so that people can grab the correct one from that pack and successfully revive dead torrents?

I imagine you likely know it, but just in case you don't (or this might be helpful for someone else reading this):

The only really important part of the magnet is the hash, the part that says > xt=urn:btih:2facfe5e2d3eafb174a4d6ac98add877db759e7b . Everything else that follows is optional. It's the name that will be displayed in the download list in the client, and a bunch of trackers that can help you find peers. Most often, for long links like yours that are found in the wild, these trackers are various open trackers which have "nothing to do" with this particular magnet/torrent; this torrent isn't "taken from them", they just act like peer discovery facilitation - they take note that someone is looking for a torrent with a given hash, and give them a list of peers who have it (if any). A torrent/magnet can find peers just fine without trackers at all, through DHT. Also, many of these open trackers can be added to torrents manually from lists like this: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ngosang/trackerslist/master/trackers_all.txt - I bet there's a ton of matches here already.

In other words, don't sweat about including all that giant mess of many instances of &tr=udp%3a%2f%2ftracker.publicbt.com%3a80%2fannounce in a row. Unless it's REALLY a torrent taken from a specific tracker which "definitely knows" about this torrent, you can safely cut it off. People who try to leech dead or half-dead torrents should ideally be adding a lot of open trackers to every such torrent (like from the .txt link above) and have DHT enabled, therefore even a link without trackers built into it is still very useful, unless the leecher is a newbie who isn't savvy about this.

Like with 4K77 and 4K83 they're going to eventually release updated versions with improvements made and in this case the improvements should be significant because they've since located much better print sources and there are still some mild technical issues that need to be fixed.

Just wanted to say thank you so much for posting this. THX 1138 is one of my favourite movies and I didn't even know this scan existed.
If any anons haven't seen it, please give it a shot: the story isn't particularly innovative (you could even call it a ripoff of 1984), but the rapid-fire editing, claustrophobic cinematography, and stark atmosphere make it a pretty unique viewing, certainly nothing like the rest of Lucas's filmography (he even said in an interview he believes the film bombed because, in the depressing days of the early '70s, people didn't want to see films about dystopian nightmares, they wanted to see films that made them happy and feel good, hence the lighter tone of American Graffiti, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc).
All of these qualities and more were ruined by the DVD/blu ray release with the added CGI scenes, so this release is a godsend.

That's correct, off the top of my head the changes in the 1978 directors cut were one scene which was sequenced differently, another scene which was extended and the sound mix which was originally mono was remixed to 2 channel stereo.
So you are more or less watching the original version of the film.

Every normal person who uses torrents to Simply Watch Movies hates this stuff. It's only useful for archival purposes with "ultimate" editions (let's say, bluray remux with many audio tracks added).

And even then... Picrel is from Rutracker where uploaders love to do this. 9 tracks (8 Russian versions + original English). Even Russians on the tracker don't exactly like torrents like this, let alone other users for whom all those audios are useless. This example torrent is 23 GB, but with only two audios it would be ~16 GB, iirc.

BRITISH anons, or anyone with knowledge of UK TV, I need your expertise.

I'm compiling the filmography of the actress Charlotte Hope, in the best quality that I can find. Her very first role was on one episode of the long-running BBC soap opera CASUALTY about a hospital, specifically S24 E18+19, called "A Day In A Life". But things get tricky.

This is what I was able to understand from various sources:

- Normally, episodes of Casualty are 40-50 minutes long
- Some special episodes are twice as long, "feature length". This was one of them
- BUT there was some televised live sports game on that day, so the episode was severely cut to fit into a normal slot
- It was later re-broadcast in full but in some different time slot (re-runs?)
- The above caused some disparity with numbering: in some sources it's Episode 18+19, in others it's E18, while 19 is the next one ("Dark Places")
- Casualty is available on VOD on a UK streaming service (the entire show or only the modern episodes? idk)

Help me figure all this out?

- Are past seasons of Casualty available as webdls somewhere? Some British tracker, or pirate fan site, idk. That YouTube user must've gotten the footage from somewhere, after all.
- Season 24 is from 2010, BBC One. Was it in Full HD back then? Or only SD quality?
- Do you see the full-length episode (~105 mins) anywhere online? I don't know where to look; "normal" international sources are of no help
- Do you have ideas where or how I might track it down if it's not readily available somewhere?
- Did I get something wrong above?

Picrel: Charlotte in the early 2010s, for reference. Listed character name suggests she plays a daughter of some middle-aged man, if this helps if you skim through a couple nearby episodes, if they're available.

It hasn't been released to streaming and the folks that normally smuggle cams into theaters are not really the folks that want to spread Matt Walsh's good word. Since most streaming platforms lean radically left, I don't think it'll be on the usual places. Maybe Rumble or Truth Social, but I would bet money we'll never see it on the Disney Grooming Channel, Prime, Netflix, Vimeo, Twitch, etc. This is the world we now live in, it's difficult to find balanced journalism from both sides of the spectrum.

This is the only version of the Italian release I've ever been able to find. Italian language, no subs that I could find, and some irritating Teleitalia and Halloween nonsense logos at the bottom of the screen. It's 1:17 in duration with the trumpet scene as the ending, everything else online and for sale on DVD is 1:26 in duration and has the beach scene at the end. Better than nothing!
