Proton is based. I paid so I get great speeds. Even the free version has a dedicated port for torrents to help with speeds.

Cryptostorm it better for privacy but you have to use crypto which can still eventually be tracked.

Mullvad will take cash, making it the most secure, just don't send it with a return address.

If they aren't advertising, its a good place to start. Just read the terms and services for logging.

If you have a linux pc, then setup a proxy chain if you dont trust VPN stealing your information and selling it to advirtisement companies. Setting up a proxy chain in kali linux might be hard for you but you can make your own VPS (Virtual Private Server) in where you can trust proxies to do the job.
