If I were a tremere id just get really good at casting magic missle. All the rings on my fingers magic missle modifiers and buffers. My warlock outfit with tons of symbols on it? Allows me to to buff and modify my magic missle depending on the situation. My gaint very obvious wizard necklace? Allows me to cast magic missle way more cost effectively. I'd also spend 80% of my time practicing magic missle and the other 20% practicing blood shield

It's basically the absolute pinnacle of what it means to wield Chaos magic in the world of the Shadow of the Demon Lord. You're creating a localized void tear to collapse reality. Obtaining even a single scroll of such a thing would be the object of an extended quest across an entire campaign or stopping someone from using it would be a major objective. Spells above level 5 are basically "pretty much no mortal on Urth can actually use these normally" and are assumed to need larger pageantry to obtain and wield.

It is more like lore only spell.

To cast lvl 10 spell you need 10 power.
Maximum lvl character have 5-6 power. 6 if he wil pick giga corrupt path and selling his ass to Demon Lord himself.
+1 power of he can trade with demons and sell them something.
I dont remember any magical artifacts which add some power rating.
So you can get maximum 7 power, but probably become BBEG.

The issue I see with your critique/argument is that your reasoning well supports the idea more detail/size isn't inherently positive, but that doesn't go far to define why the specific sizes/levels of detail are better or why GW's sizes and amount details aren't good.

I haven't seen that undead dragon in person, so yeah, I can't give a 100% assessment. But regarding posing and directionality, here's an example of a big gaming model done right. It's from Reaper miniatures (late 90's? early 2000's?), and made of METAL. The wingtips are nearly 12 inches from the base. It was probably intended as more of a display piece than a game model, but it still works on a game table, in spite of being over-sized, because the footprint is still relatively small. And the pose still looks natural. The facing is also immediately conveyed, and it doesn't come with a gratuitous scenic base.

If there's room for improvement, maybe the tail could also be raised more, but that's a minor point, and might have made assembly even more difficult. I'd have also given it shorter limbs, like what Warhammer did with its serpentine metal dragons, but that's more general style/mythological preferences.

It's very versatile, bind demons, enchant gear, make buff potions. You could build a mortal who could give a non-optimized dawn a dangerous fight, and hold their own against younger dragon-blooded (at the cost of a lot of downtime and investment, and remember that 1st edition dragon blooded didn't yet suffer from the "not a real exalt" syndrome they contracted later). You could do a lot of handy non-combat stuff as well.
It was very XP intensive and suboptimal for actual exalts to get into.
2nd edition is similar, IIRC, but the celestials have run out much further ahead of everyone else generally and it didn't keep up.
3rd edition's thaumaturgy is spit in the face of the setting the way a lot of 3rd edition is.
