We combine 3d6 with dice pools???

IE: essentially a dice pool game, but everyone starts with 3d6 as default and adds more dice to their pools depending on their stats. All dice are rolled against a target number to check if they are counted as successes or not. The first 3d6, however, are colored different and besides the success checks you also sum them together, using this result for a bunch of mechanics, but mostly to pre check things that would require extra rolling later, like spell effects, hit location, critical successes and failures, etc.

Too convulated or doable? I'm rolling and checking and it seems pretty alright.

Sure. Can you describe the statistics of it?

yea, seems fine, but I can't really criticize it until we have a concrete mechanic to look at.

>3d6 dice pool
You're on the path of remaking EABA accidentally, look into it before proceeding further.

Well, the 3d6 sum and the dice pool parts should be almost detached things so just throw them on anydice.
