I imagine that given he put a stop of the petty feuds of lords and stopped the banditry that plagued the realm personally in his youth, he's very well considered and most people see him as a role model to follow. The Crakehalls seem to be distinct at least, though maybe seeing the Lannisters of Lannisport could give us a more mercantile look at the West.
