Most important NPC in your campaign?
>>92727837YouYour the most important charter in my campaign <3
>>92727837Every NPC who comes in contact with the party is inherently expendable.
>>92727837Emperor Palpatine
My PC is on a journey to kidnap his junky drug addict sister from a nomad gang she joined with her boyfriend and force her into rehab so I suppose it would be her, although he's prepared to kill her if she's too far gone. I realized only after the fact that I had basically stolen the plot of the The Searchers for my character, even down to the cowboy aesthetic
>>92728359that sounds fuckin lame
>>92727837Tits
NPCs in my games generally don't stay important beyond the adventure they appear in unless they're a recurring character, and it's more typical for minor NPCs like a tavern & inn owner to reappear than a big wig. I suppose the most important NPC to appear in the last game I ran was Tzarina Katarin Bokha, but she did not interact with or even notice the party, just briefly blocked traffic with her procession from visiting her father's tomb. She would've appeared in a more direct context later in the game, but I burned out not long before the adventure likely would've gotten to that point.
This guy. He's an agent of the Holy Inquisition.
>>92727837Probably the current big bad since the characters' actions tend to revolve around their interactions with him.
>>92729348Why are his hands a photograph with a smoothing filter but none of the picture is?
>>92727837There probably isn’t one>closest to the party Young guy town guard they recruited to see how much they could traumAtize him,Not that important but the guys like him>most sympathetic Teenage girl that’s actually a clone and suffered a lot, at least one player is very attached to that PC, I torture her a lot>most powerful friendly NPCA big lizard whose basically a Primarch only he’s got a shitty job and everyone hates him. He’s very important to the overall backstory but not very important to the party>most directly influential Hivemind controlling one of the major PC races including one of the party. Has the personality of an aged woman whose not hot anymore.Could be called a BBEG but that’s not how the campaign is set up and doesn’t exactly go against the party unless they are in the way of 4d chess
>>92729528I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say "half-baked attempt to fix slophands issues"
>>92727837Unironically Adolf Hitler, who leads a hidden Third Reich faction which safeguards humanity from cosmic threats.
>>92729753If that is a slop image, the prompter did a good job covering up all of the other hallmarks enough that they should have been able to color correct and blend the hands in better.>>92727837Oh, also since I'm in the thread. The most important NPC is the random weird girl who knows how to make potions the party picked up one day and decided to force me into making into a GMPC.
>>92729528isn't that puckee21 and his usual weirdly textured art ?
>>92727837That one ripped fisherman they hired as a retainer during their second adventure and who later became the leader of his village. They let him carry some cursed rings and a necromancer's amulet and forgot about them until after he left, so now they occasionally wonder if he's hatching some world domination plan by now.
>>92728359SPBP. I actively go out of my way to bully my party's favorite NPC follower whenever I can and if the situation arose I would kill them without any regrets.
>>92727837Brân Pendraig VI, King of Deyrnas, Lord of the City of Rhosyn, Sea Lord of the Six Isles and Lord-Commander of the Knightly Order of the Five Keys.
>>92727837The doorman
>>92727837Whichever one(s) the PCs have fixated on, and actually try to help... and/or the main villain (at least, if their actions cause things the party deals with, in reaction to things the party has done).
Currently, a fortune teller that solves all mysteries for them so they can focus on murdering and gently caressing.
In Exalted, the white-eyebrowed old master. He's probably too powerful to die, but the PCs joined this ridiculous tournament to learn his secret techniques, so they don't want to take any chances. In Lancer, I'd argue it is the friendly alien hive-mind/animate data server that the PCs haven't even met yet, since a huge chunk of the plot revolves around people wanting to capture or kill this NPC.In Conan, I'd say it is the Turanian PC's horse. Whatever happens, we've sworn to protect their bond.
>>92727837My self-insert, of course!
>>92727837Usually a mentally ill elf-hating dwarf the party has to escort and the local dwarf population is deeply ashamed for. This serves as my gatekeeper against 'that guy'.
Basically Griffith. A charismatic bandit leader aiming to become a political big shot. The party is tasked to take him down.
It's the fluffy petElse they'd probably kill each other and then themselvesBut also as a lifeline to save them
