What is Kingdoms of Kassia?
Kingdoms of Kassia is a Braunstein-style or parlor-style board/roleplaying game meant to be played with 6-10 people.

What is a Braunstein-style game?
Adapted from the original namesake game created by David Wesely. Players are assigned a role, set of objectives, and map. Over the course of 4-6 hours they are free to scheme, deal, and conflict until ends are met. Some objectives are collaborative, others are in competition.

What's the setting?
It's a generic medieval setting. The map is provided in the pic. The King, Minath Artane, has died leaving no heirs. His two sons have perished in a recent conflict. Now his right hand man, the Chancellor, has identified a second cousin as the "most eligible heir". Players will assume the role of Duke, Baron, Master of Heralds (a sort of spymaster as well), Archbishop and have some role in who eventually ascends to King.

How is it played?
Simply, players are assigned or choose their provided roles. The game is broken into two years, four seasons a piece, typically with a season lasting 15-30 minutes (depending on the game time you'd like to set aside). Players move their piece around the map (freely and without restriction). When two pieces are in the same position, players may interact in person.

What about conflict?
There are provided rules for conflicts, duels, and battles between armies. Note, when players resort to conflict, the results are definitive. Losing a battle, for instance, is enough for you to see your entire territory annexed.

How is the King elected?
Each player has a secret "popular support" score to represent their approval among lesser lords and landowners. Each player casts their vote at the end of the game in a Kingsmoot. A 60% majority elects the King. Failing to do this provokes Rumoia to attack. If you've not completed the correct defensive wall (a shared objective all players can contribute to), Kassia is conquered.

A few other things to add:
- The game encourages the Referee to provide a random selection of "primary objectives" to landowners (Dukes and Barons). This ensures at least one landowner is secretly a traitor in league with Rumoia.
- Physical representations of coinage is recommended (I purchased some 600 cheap plastic coins for ~10 bucks) to add to the experience
- There's a complicated interplay between money (called "Sterling"), trade goods, and food. All resources need to be considered and managed through the game. Some people start with surplus food, others a deficit.
- Trading goods provides the recipient with 2 sterling per trade good (think of it as the trade good "turning into" 2 Sterling). You may also trade with the Referee ("Foreign markets") at far less profit (2 trade goods PER Sterling... a quarter of their value traded). Encouraging trade and interaction between players. Untraded goods are functionally worthless.
- The minimum number of players would consist of 6 people: The Chancellor, the 3 main Dukes, The Archbishop, and Master of Heralds (if there are only six change Grenzelgard's 3rd objective to "Kill the Master of Heralds")

My one and only bump. Anyone have questions?
