Thank you OP for a new thread.
>>93440639>TQNo to the Cuban question, but somewhere I have some pre revolution good ole capitalist Cuban money from the late 40s. That being said, yes I've played some early 20th century revolution games, they're one of my primary setting and era of choice. I like the rule set "beyond the empire" because it has several optional rules for poor quality ammo, drug and alcohol use, and etc. I've read through "a world aflame" and it's too much a cluster fuck to actually play, but it has some interesting rules I hope to use some day, such as using static phone locations like phone booths and post offices for communication and runners and the like to give units individual orders. (You have to have a line of communication to your HQ units to change orders) I think early to mid 20th revolutionary settings make for interesting games because they afford you the ability to use a wide array of interest equipment and units. I've a soft spot for militias and boiler plate armored cars.
I feel like doing 28mm napoleonics
>>93441268I feel like doing lots of things anon, but I never start them because I know i'll move onto something else in too short an order.
>>93441268>I feel like doing 28mm napoleonicsHave a nap anon. It'll wear off.
>>93441268If you want to play skirmish, go ahead. If you want to play big battles, go 6mm.
>>93441268Sharps practice, Fistful of Lead horse and musket, and smooth & rifled are all small model count skirmish games you could 28 napoop with.
Has anyone ever tried using Aventine horses for other miniatures? They have some nice horses to replace the ugly ones that other companies make, but I don't know how compatible they'd be.
Bmp
>>93443585Simon Miller (To the Strongest! author) used GB plastic horses with Aventine riders for a large part of his Parthain project, though I don't know if the reverse would work. Maybe try asking on the Lead Adventure forum.https://bigredbat.blogspot.com/search/label/Parthians
>>93441857>>93441923Nobody does that thoughGo to a club and the boomers will be playing divisional level Napoleonics with 28mm
Partly tq related, any good games and minis for Latin American wars? 20th century of course but could be any era tooI like the camouflage cowboy hats
>>93445989are you a retired boomer?
>>93445989Okay. Do whatever makes you happy.
>>93421337Churchill totally had more armor than the Tiger.I'm curious now how these units were statted in Bolt Action.
>>93441268Don't do it unless you're very fast at painting. Even trying to batch paint four Black Powder units burned me out on hobby for a couple months. I didn't even end up finishing and decided to start over with contrast paints at some point in the future.
>>93449101I was thinking of doing some kind of speed painting with my airbrush and contrast paints but I'm not sure what is the ideal method for it for maximum detailThe part I'm dreading the most is cleaning every mould line on every part desuIt's possible that I'd burn out
>>93445989Everyone below retirement age around here does that.
>>93449769How terrible do the tables look?
>>93444860>https://bigredbat.blogspot.com/search/label/ParthiansThanks anon, this is very helpful. I'm trying to do it the other way around, and in this case, with some GB metals, but it should work, I guess. I'm really liking this approach of combining miniatures from different historical manufacturers without much issue. Of course, you will be able to tell if they're in the same unit, but in separate units I think it will give a unique look to each, and the overall paintjob will probably do the job of unifying everything
>>93446447Perry has a range of miniatures for the Triple Alliance War, fought between Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay vs Paraguay between 1864 and 1870. The conflict was the bloodiest in Latin American history, and eventually Paraguay entered a state of total war in the later part of the war, recruiting pretty much any available men, resulting in completely fucking up its demographics for years to come. Paraguay's army was over 60k soldiers at the start of the war, while Brazil had 16k (I believe mainly low quality), Argentina almost 9k regulars and good quality cavalry, and Uruguay close to 5k IIRC.As for rules, I can't help you out there, since I don't play the period, but that conflict always seemed interesting.
