TL;DR- Idea is PMD x Abyss Delver (Made in Abyss)- No corruption mechanics, but traversing between and through strata is still a difficult, treacherous and effortful task.- Everyone is located in Relic Town, around a fuckoff-giant Mystery Dungeon (of unclear and possibly infinite depth) in the ground known as the Abyss.- Create characters following the rules of the PMD CYOA, with intial tokens from the Grimbright scenario option. (+15/+15)- If you're planning on exploring the Abyss past the second stratum or so, you should probably purchase a Guild Badge and sign up with a guild.Expanded Lore Document that You Should Probably Read: https://rentry.org/pmdabyssMysteries for this scenario:First Stratum: What's Eating the Berries?- Recently, Delvers close to the Public Steam Elevators have reported a weird lack of berries on all the trees that would normally grow them. Who, or what, could be the cause?Second Stratum: Statue Garden- A section of the Petrified Forest lacks its usual trees. Instead, statues of all sorts of Pokemon, petrified in various poses, take their place. Some Delvers swear it wasn't there the last time they went through the area, but with the dungeon constantly shifting, they are somewhat unreliable. Were the statues ever alive, or just decoration all along?Third Stratum: Cave of Wonders- Recently, a Beheeyem resurfaced with one half of a golden, Rabsca shaped token. They were cagey about where they found it, but rumors started to spread about a cave full of magnificent treasure in the Eroded Desert that one could find only if they united the two halves of the token. >>94352103It's a pretty good read, I love it! Sentinel is supposed to be a social recluse who struggles to maintain a relationship even with his relatives, but I think this does a good enough job of showing him in the presence of someone he'd grown up with. Looks like the two brothers are in for the most unpleasant conclusion when the final hours of the war start.

>>94352049Quick question to the Arknights cyoa creator. Are you the guy that posted that old Arknights Jumpchain on Reddit years ago? Because man you took some strong inspirations from it huh?The ranking for arts and physical, races and perks giving ranks and skills, the half wendigo race, some other stuff. And then there's shit that's just straight up copy pasted from there or slightly reworded.Like, for example:*Enchanting (Incompatible with Scientific Arts; Can be taken for free with Witchcraft, -200AP): You can enchant objects to have esoteric effects, like throwing a spear that can freeze the spot it lands on, swords that makes explosion on impact, the effects are limited by what you can do, and your limits. But beware, one weapon can only hold one enchantment, and these are forever."This is the enhancing perk on the jump. Just, literally copy pasted. The whole cyoa just feels like a remake of that jump.
>>94352383The guy who made this CYOA is called Cityanon because he primarily makes CYOAs inspired by gachas and started off by making a Project Moon thingy. I would not be surprised if he copies stuff from Jumpchainfags, as his latest projects have been either copypastes from his earlier works or ESL babble.
>>94352383>Cityanon recognized the superiority of jumpchainBased, I hope the rest of you will be similarly enlightened soon.
>>94352383>And then there's shit that's just straight up copy pasted from there or slightly reworded.I don't know the Jumpchain version but I suspect both CYOAs lifted stuff from the wiki wholesale like>>94339803suggests
>>94352239I actually feel I failed to convey some things the way I'd meant to. There's supposed to be a pretty decent age gap between them and Galahad is supposed to still be quite young in the first part. He's a prodigal child mech pilot and engineer with too much to prove, and Sentinel struggles to protect him beyond simply keeping tabs and making suggestions he knows will be ignored. Galahad looks up to his older brother but ultimately wants to set himself apart from the relentless overachiever by taking his own path.Second part is supposed to be the culmination of that some years later, with Sentinel attempting to set all the pieces up perfectly so Galahad will make it back in time to join New Eden, but ultimately failing to account for just how overwhelming the Collapsals are. Galahad takes it upon himself to plug the hole in Sentinel's plan, who has to enter his sarcophagus believing his miscalculations caused his little brother's death.Galahad somehow appearing unharmed around the same time he awakens is a miraculous and unforeseeable outcome I'm sure Sentinel will welcome, even if his younger brother does come with a bad case of amnesia.
>>94352415>I actually feel I failed to convey some things the way I'd meant to.I think the first part does it nicely, portraying the difference in mindsets and maturity. Sentinel can't quite put his passions into words and tries to act like his overbearing father to someone who can be considered his peer but chooses to serve the state's war machine rather than pursue sciences as he did. The only part I'd disagree with is a certain relationship being a secret because it's supposed to be a justification as to why Sentinel has nobility specialization. He married into Saviour's family and effectively became part of the higher caste overnight, despite never being accepted and being seen as a brute who can only smash algorithms and was responsible for finding out the eldritch Collapsals. A warrior in a world that didn't need one, which pushed him further to work on Originium for certain reasons.>Second partYeah, that one confused me a bit. I planned out that by the closing hours, only Sentinel and Galahad were remaining military commanders, with all humans either dead or forcibly shoved into the New Eden program and replaced with synthetic soldiers or war machines. It's then that he'd learn of his brother's suicidal ideation, who would betray him at the last minute and shove him into the sarcophagus to spare him from Observers tearing him apart and his suit. The scene then would proceed to Galahad being sealed, as Sentinel's pre-recorded message plays that's meant to explain things, but is ultimately destroyed during the flood, explaining the origin of his amnesia and the reason why the older brother was so insistent on waging the war all by himself. You think it'd be possible to reconcile your vision with mine, somehow?
>>94352383Yes. The CYOA is a more streamlined/CYOA-fied version of the Jump because of the differences between CYOA and Jumpchain.CYOAs need a truckload of information for people to get the hang of the setting.Meanwhile, with Jumpchains, you either go for the mechanical benefits of the Jump or you already like the setting, so you don't need that load of information from the get-go.
>>94352469With jumpchains you can also go overboard since you don't "need" to make sense for in-setting stuff and whatnot.Case in point, the Inquisitor Imperium Nihilus Jumpchain, that one fucking rocks, and some other Jumpchains (Even Valeria's like the Naruto one, which is miles better than the CYOA we have here for a MP).
>>94352469>mechanical benefits of the JumpOnly cucks do this. Real men use cheat supplements to start out with omnipotence so they can solo every setting and remake it into their image.>>94352483Jumpchainers don't do MPs because they don't care for competition, and realize that it's incredibly easy to break just by having a few jumps prior or the jump itself. It can also be a lot of work, as a lot of them are lacking in necessary flavour and people are too lazy to read up franchiseshit lore.Imperium Nihilus is great and if you want a hypothetical MP, you gotta look for jumps like that. Detailed, with lots of options,
>>94352500>Real men use cheat supplementsYour weakness disgusts me
>>94352500I find supplements quite boring.Meh, the people here don't care about competition either, just shitposters. It is not that anons here can't do it, they just don't care or are too scared to do it.Imperium Nihilus is a gold standard for jump chains, IMO. There was an old Resident Evil Jump Chain That Was quite detailed, too. Sadly, I can't find it anymore, but there are some Jump Chains that are better than what we have in the thread, such as the Naruto one.Jumpchains also don't provide a framework (most of the time) to make a character, like many CYOAs do, so you gotta be creative with your autism while making the character, or it will be just a shopping list. While simple on paper, doing this is so hard.
>>94352508What's wrong, sissy? You actually turn your jumpers into genuine characters, instead of making them into your blatant overpowered self-inserts? You'll never have sex like I do, and all I had to do was jump into Nikke. >>94352513>old Resident Evil Jump Chain That Was quite detailedThat one was great, it even had a virus creator so you could go crazy with it.>Jumpchains also don't provide a framework (most of the time) to make a character, like many CYOAs doThis is the biggest problem because most Jumpchains do not provide basic stuff and autists here love it when things has a precise framework and they don't need to be vague about it.
>>94352526>This is the biggest problem because most Jumpchains do not provide basic stuff and autists here love it when things has a precise framework and they don't need to be vague about it.Yes, but past that, I'd argue that Jumpchains are better to play and write for since you can throw the lore out of the window and make shit on the fly.I think some Jumps are also good to play as standalone, use one to substitute a CYOA, and play it. What can be a minor problem I think is how many points Jumps give you, since 1000, even without drawbacks, is plenty even without drawbacks in some Jumps.
>>94352526>You actually turn your jumpers into genuine characters, instead of making them into your blatant overpowered self-inserts?No, I do that. I just don't need cheat supplements to do it. If you can't solo the entirety of fiction by jump 5 then you're a worthless jobber.
>>94352550>No, I do that. No, you don't. You're a hylic who doesn't satre his way to victory, a slave to the world Demiurge built. The only limits there are are the ones you recognize.

>>94352459>First spoilerI probably misunderstood some details in your writing then, but that bit in mine isn't particularly important. It was more about showing their maturity gap and personalities than the details themselves. No big deal to me.>second spoiler I don't have any attachment to the exact timeline of humanity being wiped out/survivors being shoved into New Eden, the fielding of war machines, how things fell apart, etc., but I'm not sure how reconcilable the actual conclusion is. The main thing to me is Galahad somewhat selfishly playing the hero and Sentinel ultimately failing to stop him. I was picturing Sentinel leading the almost, almost perfect campaign to overcome impossible odds, but just barely falling short for one reason or another. Until Galahad, being who he is, muscles the remainder of his brother's meticulously laid plan across the finish line, with his tragic death making Sentinel's impressive victory ultimately hollow. At least until their impossible reunion in the present day. Galahad never made it to a sarcophagus because he went out in a blaze of glory, and my working explanation for him waking up so many years later out in the middle of nowhere is "Collapsal fuckery." He's supposed to be dead. Hopefully that's somehow workable for you. If the main themes of my build step on your toes too much, then my bad. I just saw your build and my first thought was how cool it'd be if he had to watch his baby brother die because he just wasn't quite perfect enough, and the rest of it followed from there. Not sure what that says about me.
>>94352729>SpoilerWhat you had in mind is actually more thematically consistent, I think. The way I saw it, the civilization failed because its greatest broke under pressure: Saviour gave in to despair and began to lose her mind, viewing evolution as the only way to utilize Originium, all while Sentinel broke under the weight of his misery and never bothered to put himself back together. Galahad's fall would be the culmination of all sins he amassed - his misery forcing him to push others away, his rage driving him to greater lengths to attain elusive perfection, and his rejection of responsibility placed on him - that costs the life of the king's greatest knight. None of Sentinel's achievements matter without people that need them, and he gets to learn that lesson through a slap to his arrogant face. This is pure tragic cinema.I am mostly concerned about builds working in tandem and finding a compromise in things, and this is really solid. It also stays consistent to Galahad's theme of arrogant heroics and playing the knight (figuratively) in a modern age of warfare, if you ever had that in mind or just wanted two characters to be related in a cool way. I don't mind either way, honestly.

>>94352718A nice, short operation that acts as a good introduction to CCC's members, their role in the team, as well as their dynamics with each other. Funnily enough, Beatrice is already a named character on the roster, so that might need some changing. It could use the same old editorial pass, but it's a fun peek of the daily lives of the maids. A neat detail I liked was the maid-specific terminology used for operations, such as calling clients "master". No complaints on Chel. I'm surprised at how quickly you can cook these things up.
ArknightGODS finally killed the general and MHA. I kneel.
>>94356042Cityanon fulfilled the ancient prophecy.
>>94352986 No, I think you summed it up quite well, and we seem pretty on the same page now. And the knight symbolism is definitely intentional. Like a hero from an old story who dons enchanted armor and wields holy weapons, Galahad enters his impossible mech and becomes something far greater than a mere man. Like his brother, he chases perfection in his own way, attempting to embody a heroic ideal by becoming the perfect pilot, building the perfect mech, and wrestling away his brother's burden through martial exceptionalism and self sacrifice. And like his brother, he mostly succeeded in his endeavors. Galahad did seem unbeatable for a time, with just his blip appearing on the radar being enough to raise the spirits of his fellow Knights and soldiers. His mech was a marvel of engineering that hasn't been replicated since and wasn't even pilotable by anyone but him. Somehow rebuilding it in his current amnestic state would be a whole journey in itself. Yet none of it was quite enough when it mattered. Galahad got what he wanted: a heroic sacrifice, securing the success of his brother's plans, even his legend immortalized in history to be told in some form or another by peoples many years in the future. But that legend is merely a lesson in knightly ideals now. The details are mostly lost to time and the people he supposedly saved are an unknown in the modern age because humanity was still wiped out. It's hollow victories all the way down.

>>94358249Another problem is the timeline or how far along the game's story we're playing at. For Lumina specifically, I'd guess she'd be mostly at Kazdel since oripathy limits your options and that place is just a general shithole. Maybe Iberia or anywhere around the sea if she's in the know since the fishe might be a big problem in the future? The fact that most don't know is a bit fun in and of itself since it's a natural way to start or keep conversations going.

>>94358279She's artificially supplied oripathy by an organ, her actual body is immune to it as a full Fernamut Shard so it may not be as limiting for her as most people. She wants to cure it for other people, not herself unlike most people.
>>94358279Assuming from the timeline we see at the end of the CYOA, we're supposed to be atthe beginning of the game's events, with exception that Doctor is replaced by Sentinel and a bunch of other humans survived and are coming back.>>94358294It's because the Ancients were most likely humanity who became a spacefaring civilization and lost their original home to Observers. Most races present on modern Terra descend from humans altered by sarcophagus in some way, so it does make sense that they replicate their ancestors in some way.
>>94358297While oripathy can literally turn you into a rock if it's bad enough, I'm more so talking about the social aspect. A lot of nations just hate the infected and believe physical contact with infected is enough to cause infections. That's not really the case, but it does prevent you from using anything but your own transport or legs to get from place to place. Realistically, Lumina is only going to help out infected without any push back, and may even get ostracized further due to helping other infected. It does give a few cool story telling opportunities such as try to help out a family the that outright refuses Lumina's help, or an uninfected man so desperate that he's willing to turn to someone visually infected for help.>>94358320>the beginning of the game's eventsI guess that means we're far and away from fighting space gods. >>94358372If somebody wants to canonfag, they will. Builds that are currently introduced do not dramatically alter things besides adding new factions into the mix.
>>94358383>Builds that are currently introduced do not dramatically alter thingsThat's a given since this run just started, but I hope it doesn't get to the point where something we've made starts conflicting with each other because we're using different sources because I can't keep up with canon either. I prefer if we use franchiseshit as a spring board for our own stories, and we borrow themes rather than events.
>>94358457Nta, but I will be ignoring canon unless it actually serves whatever we're doing and has actually been added to the MP. Canon doesn't exist if it hasn't been used as far as I'm concerned.

>>94360744Good question... Willpower perks like Hardened Mind could be a factor. I think Idealism is another potential way to resist it. Same with other charisma perks like people skills. Not sure which builds are the best for that. Seems like most of the builds with that kind of investment are just the other humans, which isn't a very interesting answer. On the fluff side of things, you also have just straight up sociopaths like Lavinia who fundamentally won't listen to emotional appeals or conventional logic. (Thankfully she's greedy bitch, so when talk-no-jutsu fails he just needs to bribe her). I don't think talk-no-jutsu really works on legit sociopaths. Works great on broody edgelords that think they're sociopaths though.
>>94360832Judging by how Sinner is an anarchist who primarily wishes to dismantle society, I think there are some pretty hard limits on what he can pull off. He's only got a combination of Idealism and People's Skills without Espionage, so he doesn't mindbreak people into following him. More like, he's swaying the rubble to his cause with pretty speeches and articulated arguments, like a cunning politician who knows how to use populism to his advantage.Builds that fall for him would either be crazies you've mentioned that would love his ideology, foolish or desperate people, or someone important whom he managed to manipulate with his words. I don't think that most of them are dumb enough to fall for his destructive ideology, unless Sinner covers it up, which makes it all the more interesting. This does remind me that I should finish writing out ideologies of every human, at least once they get enough characterization. I even got cool names already.[\spoiler]

So I figure in spite of his rebellious ideals, he's got the raw charisma to at least make most people sympathetic to his cause even if they don't change allegiances outright.Although speaking of crazy, how many of those do we even have? I mentioned Lavinia, and she is indeed crazy, but I don't especially think she'd be a big appreciator of Sinner's brand of crazy. The only likely candidates I can think of is Ledger and Pardal, as their skillset would be quite useful for him and they'd fall for his words easily. >>94361545>"gay uncle" headcanonIf the humans are all nepo babies that got sarcophagused because they were close to other members of the project, they probably know each other or the Sinner was preserved as part of some kind of cultural preservation project. If he was part of the project, the Sinner was probably part of experimenting with the use of music in the Originium production and control, not as a researcher but as a music expert.
>>94361671>If the humans are all nepo babies that got sarcophagused because they were close to other members of the project, they probably know each other or the Sinner was preserved as part of some kind of cultural preservation project."New Eden" basically did just that - saving the most important, and trying to protect civilians and give them a chance. Sentinel's hate boner for Originium simply wouldn't let him try and save anyone who worked on the project, if such people outside of him and Sage existed.I like to think that Sinner was chosen because his tunes perfectly fit the melancholy that humanity felt after losing their home, and most likely served as one of inspirations for Sentinel to walk the eternal path of a watchman and hero.
>>94361711He's probably a cultural preservation nepo baby, then.>TunesIf they're anything like his faceclaim: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYRvGr8YxncCurrently, after losing their home and being subject to the Savior's experiments, he is of the mind that civilization and science will always lead to species-wide self-destruction. >>94361540Makes sense. Galahad sticks to his ideals, but they aren't super well-articulated. He fights for personal reasons, or because someone right now in this moment needs his help. Not to achieve a philosophical or political aim that'll live on beyond him. I imagine keen eye + empathy + tactical mind help him to cut through bullshit and poke holes in plans/ideas, but he's not wielding rhetoric to change someone's opinions with any notable skill. He's more a man of action. If people were following him as the leader of some faction, it'd be because he once saved them, he inspires them through his character/ability, he indirectly helped them find their own strength, etc. Not because he has all the answers to how the world should be run. Not that he's looking to lead anyone when he doesn't even remember his own name.>>94361633Idk what this means, but sounds solid.

>>94364052my logic was behavioral prediction and AI assisted social interaction, in retrospective perhaps applying them in MND should have made more sence
>>94361577I have a different take on some of them.>LuminaTherapist makes sense, but if she's curing elemental damage and not negative statuses, then she should be a wandering medic instead. I agree with her being a 5, likely a welfare operator for one of the bigger non-seasonal events. I'd imagine that her gimmick would be to give some temporary defense up whenever she fully cures elemental damage. Maybe add in a s2 that she can activate where she slowly loses health for the duration of the skill, and deprioritizes herself when healing. >GrzmisławA 6 juggernaut is too apt for him, even his bubble fits one of the passives of the class.>LaviniaI have no idea how they're going to make a more brain-dead arts guard, so I'll argue for her spot as a 6 centurion with some sort arts damage skill or passive to better match her durability and destructive power. Maybe have her s3 be a mini Ifrit that burns all enemies within a shorter tile range.>ShutterShe could also be a 4 decel binder or summoner with her sun skills. Have her set up cameras that give a debuff on skill activation towards which ever tile they're facing.>KrakkeClearly more of a fighter since she uses her fists to fight, and if we're going off of design, a 6 banner or welfare for the fish event. Might be able to represent her 1v1 nature by giving her a passive that increases her stats when no allies are around, or give her buffs while blocking 1 enemy.>SaviourMore of a 6 geek that might have potentials locked behind story chapters. It plays better with her infection gimmick by having her friendly fire allies with originium to enhance their abilities, and the natural damage over time she takes as being a part of the class represents her life support prosthetic.
>>94364209>SentinelThis one is harder to say since it can go in all sorts of different directions. Summoner is an easy pick, a regular medic that plays like Kal could be something more out there. A 6 tactician seems to fit with him doing ranged attacks using Gungir and his reinforcement being different AI holograms that change stances based on the skill used. >BeatriceHer mechanized weapon might be better represented as a 6 fortress with it being a cannon sword. Her arts could be done as lingering flames from the cannon's splash damage, or some sort of regeneration that kicks in when she's about to die.>HeatherShe doesn't really have any traps as part of her build, and an easy answer would be a deadeye then have one of her skills allow her to attack stealthed enemies, and a passive that buffs CCC members within her attack range. If she wasn't a faction leader, I'd agree with the 5 star placement. Being a certificate shop character is a great idea and is another way to represent the CCC's contract work.>SupervisorThis one also has a lot of different ways to go. Abjurer is another way for her to buff allies, or, if she was more boots on the ground, a flag bearer that can rally others. If we're looking for more synergy with one of the humans, she could be a supportive merchant. I don't know if they'd still release a story important character below 6.>LucilleFeels like an opportunity for a 5 dollkeeper with her swapping out to her unarmored form at 0 hp to keep on fighting. Could also go the route of a reaper, taking need for battle to a more literal degree.>The SinnerNon-support 5 bard with skills that cause negative statuses on activation that can only be unlocked through side content like IS or something. Technically he'd play like a weird hexer hybrid, but he can't really do arts, so he shouldn't have a basic attack similar to bards.

I just want to see him punch someone so hard he sends them to the other side of the map.>Queen of ClubsNo question about that. He'd probably debut as an NPC in one of the nodes of the roguelike mode, or being locked behind recruitment permits only. You really have to find this guy in order to get him.>Pardal1 artificer whose only skill is to generate landing signals which retreats an operator with no dp refunded, but reduces the redeployment timer by 75%. Just have him transport opperators form place to place and make everyone a pseudo fast redeploy.>ChelNot sure why she doesn't have her own section separate from other CCC. It depends on how we want to classify her explosion. She can be a splash caster, artillery master, or trapmaster if you're willing to stretch it. She could even have a summon that, if it gets hit by her splash attack, also explodes and can create a chain if her summon skill wasn't so limited. 4 at best.
>>94364216>Her mechanized weapon might be better represented as a 6 fortress with it being a cannon sword. Her arts could be done as lingering flames from the cannon's splash damage, or some sort of regeneration that kicks in when she's about to dieLiterally Horn.
>>94364248Pretty much. She could probably stand out since she seems more melee oriented compared to Horn, but it would also make her an even worse fortress.
>>94364216>This one is harder to say since it can go in all sorts of different directions. Summoner is an easy pick, a regular medic that plays like Kal could be something more out there. A 6 tactician seems to fit with him doing ranged attacks using Gungir and his reinforcement being different AI holograms that change stances based on the skill used. He's a Tactician capable of using a mix of drones and AIs for various support and effects, primarily attacking through Gungir that allows him to use both ranged and physical attacks. They have a huge bypass on defenses, but the damage is low as Sentinel is a poor fighter. His alter version, [TrueName], The Indomitable, is a summoner character that's more warlike. It's meant to be a version of him from the war that utilizes power armour to be more of a help in a fight, while summoning mechas to fight by his side. His ultimate (if such things exist in Arknights lol) would be using Gungir to drag his opponent to an alternative dimension to finish them off, and his Alter's would be getting into a mecha and hitting the enemy with a double assault, with help of Galahad.
>>94363977For the drawbacks, do they also raise the limit of faction perks you can take?
>>94364302>His ultimate (if such things exist in Arknights lol)Not really. You can think of a unit having a basic attack they do automatically when an enemy is in range, and 1 skill from their 2-3 skills that they can activate when they have the sp. The closest thing to that is having a skill that be overcharged to change its properties. Even then, none of the skills can be particularly cinematic in the same way ultimates are presented in other games. It's still a tower defense at the end of the day, so some things are harder to present compared to if it were a more common autobattler

Unfortunately for them she wasn't exactly a failure - Her skillset just wasn't as direct as the physically endowed soldiers. She was a genious tactician and extremely good at manipulating people. Her only memories of her origin is her weakness to 'Liquidators' which are the corporates execution squads who fire solid gold bullets which their assorted supersoldiers are genetically bred to be excessively allergic to, so badly that it causes them to bleed profusely from the smallest injuries and refuses to heal traditionally. As far as Fixers go in the city she's considered one of the most charismatic - Not perhaps at the level of the Succubi from hell but still greatly more attractive both physically and conversationally than your average genetic supersoldier. A couple of decades ago, the Southwest of Europe had been scorched by them. One of the outcomes was a large number of children taken by the Caliphate to be turned into Muhadims. Among them, a boy who'd be given the name "Ashir".Converted and trained in the region of Qumis, the boy became a man and displayed great talents fighting in the jihad. Having noticed that, the region's governor decided to trade a good soldier for some political gain. Ashan al-Hashemi adopted Ashir as his seventh son and then presented him as a gift to the Caliph's Palace. The gift has been accepted, and Ashir became a part of the Palace Guard. Even there, his talents shined through as he fought off attempts on the Caliph's life, even without magic, being able to fell demonic champions with only his blade. Over the years, this has earned him the position of the Captain of the seventh of the nine platoons of the Guard and the combat instructor to the sons of the Caliph.Abu Saif is a man of few words. Serious to a fault, he normally doesn't speak unless it's a prayer or related to his duties. On top of that, he's almost never seen outside of his golden armor. There is a palace legend that if you manage to see the Father of Swords smile, you'll have a good year, and if you make him laugh, any of your wishes will come true.
>>94364904That's okay. Allah said I can have 5 more wives, and they all can be below the age of consent. God bless being a muslim.
>>94363935>You can have five perks total>Only three of them can be faction specificdid I read this right?
>>94364914I won't be making a build anymore.
>>94364950Yes?
>>94364950Correct but Drawbacks can let you take another faction trait if you want.
>>94364950Yup, you can get additional perks with drawbacks so it's a whatever. Nobody cares for these drawbacks because they're boring as fuck.
Rolled 2 (1d2)>>943639351. Male2. Female
>>94363935This is disgustingly low quality. Do people really?
>>94364927>>94364851Seems like we'll probably have worked together quite often. Probably spar together a lot too. Autists love sticking together too. He's more physically endowed but she's stronger mentally and of course has the magic and blessings that he lacks. If our forces work together we can eliminate any threat to the Caliphate.
>>94364969We got our crayons energy back.
>>94364052>>Anyway some factions are vastly better since they can get +20 to their preferred stat,Stats total is probably more important since the 60 points you get you can distribute almost freely, the limit is you can't have stuff below 0, but you can pump all of it into one stat if you want.
>>94364959They do matter to an extent, though Targeted is pretty irrelevent.Prophetic is gonna be a rare one to take even though we already have one - Guranteed to die tends to be too much of a drawback for people. Unlucky specifically says you can overcome it so its not really that huge of a deal.Weakness is rough for anyone who wants to fight since it basically allows your enemies to cripple you... But I think very few soldiers can manage to source a weapon like that on the fly and - Importantly - if its something like wood even fewer will be able to do meaningful damage to you with it as long as your CON is high enough.Magicless is barely a drawback its just free if you aren't building magic and nobody building magic is gonna take it. The only faction that really gets hurt by it is once again the demons since they cannot take the required power to be an Archdemon since the first perk gives +2 Magic. In short most people will probably have atleast two but they aren't all equally irrelevent.
>>94364974The point is that after you get the +35 Charisma as a techpriest you can then apply up to 55 more points from your free points and hit 90 Charisma.Possibly atleast 95 if you use spare perks to get stuff to higher than 0. 100 would be hard since I think it already has all sources of charisma it can get besides that 5.
>>94364985>and - Importantly - if its something like wood even fewer will be able to do meaningful damage to you with it as long as your CON is high enough. You people are cheating out of a drawback already...
>>94364985>Prophetic is gonna be a rare one to take even though we already have one - Guranteed to die tends to be too much of a drawback for people. This one is the most irrelevant, because that death will never actually come.
>>94364996Nobody took Wood though. We only have a Gold weakness but its someone who could die to a bullet to begin with so the fact that gold bullets fuck them up even more is academic.
>>94364999Still most people avoid those because while yes - In the scope of your MCYOA run it will never come up unless you specifically write it, you lose so much soul and love for the character that it is unappealing
>>94364052>>94364995What about The Flesh is Weak?
>>94364969anons will have their fun with minmaxing stats and it'll quietly die off
>>94365008>you lose so much soul and love for the character that it is unappealingAlso irrelevant. If you cannot make your shopping list good in spite of their drawbackfarming, you were never going to make a good build in the first place.
>>94364970Yeah, but how often it happens would depend on how often she visits the palace. He usually stays there, but I believe there is a chance his platoon could be sent to reinforce some place or escort the Caliph/his family if they were to leave the Palace. When they do meet, they'd probably get along. She's got more bonuses against demons/undead, so she'd be more effective against them, but if those don't apply he might have the edge due to physicality still working and not having shit luck. Also, she's a better tactician, so if there is a space to use that, that's another point for her, but if the order is just "go and hold this chokepoint", then extra smarts don't help much. So, I think when it comes to effectiveness, it depends on the situation. Both working together would, of course, be the best.
>>94364699Sentinel is so friggin' lucky...This is pretty good, staying accurate to her stats, showing how far gone she is through disregarding another perspective entirely. Keep cooking.
>>94364995Is anyone trying to max a single stat like that? Especially Charisma? The descriptions of tiers end up at "30 or higher", so that doesn't really encourage going beyond that that much. So far, the highest we got was 60 and it was in Mind.
>>94365060I'll try to get to Magic 100 and see what happens.
>>94363935The factions and their units feel too much like ready-made toys, like units from a RTS or miniatures from a tabletop wargame, so the vibe is too gamey overall for me.If it's about war on Earth but with custom countries, then a world map would've been good too, painting colors over a blank map of Earth might take a few minutes tops.I liked your other CYOA better, the one based on Be The Noble.
>>94365045I definately figured she was on the Undead side of the war more than anywhere else. Working together is definately their best point though since he can provide a solid point for her to whirlwind around cutting people up and then ducking back behind him for a momentary breather over and over. I imagine she gets a lot of medals and probably is there in her duties as a blessed preistess a lot. Also the Commander of the guard is likely to be involved in the training of the other Muhadim so if nothing else they'll meet for their underlings to train together. The sparring matches must get intense though.
>>94365060Theres no real benefit to going all in on one stat because you'll be so limited in scope. Magic is the exception maybe, and thats why the Liches have so many magic traits that they can easily get as high as they want.20 is Double Average and 30 is Legendary, so it stands to reason that 40 is atleast doubly as good as Legendary and so on meaning they get exponentially more powerful as you go.
>>94365092You're assuming continuous linear progression. 30 might be as well be a soft cap, and the further investments start to pay off less.
>>94365107RIP Goddess of Victory: Nikke
>>94365121When are we getting Nikke MP from Cityanon, so all females can inevitably rape males?
>>94365107That'd be an incredibly stupid interpretation built on no evidence. Especially since it says 'A stat of 30 OR HIGHER' meaning it scales further to increasingly legendary levels.
>>94365125isn't nikke one of those scenarios where all the males are dead except the commander who is literally me?
>>94365127No? 30 or higher could still mean a SOFT cap
>>94365131I don't think so, he's just one of the few that don't treat the girls like shit.
>>94365125How the fuck do her arms work. She's got her upper arms behind her back then her hands reaching forward onto the glass meaning her forearms are disturbingly long or maybe even triple segmented arms.>>94365131That's why its the duty of the male builds to stay in the base and take care of the children so we can repopulate the planet.
>>94365133There's no reason to assume that, it would be listed if it were the case. You must be insufferable to play TTRPG with if you only accept actions from the EXAMPLE tables and anything beyond is impossible.
>>94365137Check out her legs. She's an inhuman freak responsible for all evils in the world.
>>94365141I don't see anything that weird with her legs. Maybe the left (Our perspective) is bigger than the right? But that could just be perspective or something. That said her neck is really long and really thin too. She would struggle to swallow a pea. There's no way she's maintaining eating the amount of food required to keep that chest and those thighs together.
>>94365127Most interpretations currently will lack evidence. The same statement of "30 or higher" could be interpreted as any score of 30+ is equal as they are all legendary (hard cap), or close to it (soft cap), or your interpretation (no cap). We just have no basis for the claims, really. For any option, you could argue for and against. Your statement of "meaning it scales further to increasingly legendary levels" doesn't have any basis in the cyoa as there are no mentions of "multiple legendary levels".
>>94365149>I don't see anything that weird with her legs. Her legs are detachable cybernetic feet she uses to stomp on babies. Pure evil.
>>94365150you heard him guys, everone should rework their builds to get closer to 30/30/30/30/0/0
>>94365150Consider the game design perspective and the fact undead alone give you more than 30 Magic. There's no way that you hit a cap at 30 because that would mean you are essentially meant to cap several skills or put all of them at 20ish. Everyone would be nigh-identical because every physical build would be 30 con 30 str 30 dex and every magical build is gonna be 30 magic 30 mind
>>94365107Seconding >>94365127 , do you assume each level of advancement is worth LESS than the last in any other cyoas, or vidyas, or other media? It's almost almost always worth the same or more.
>>94365165Okay in this one her legs are like 2x longer than they should be but her arms are relatively normal.
>>94365177>>94365140Imagine trying to DM for him and he says 'But the table only shows what happens if you roll a 13, nothing about a 20.' Every time.'I just failed to hit, theres nothing in the rulebooks about critical fails existing.' Type shit.
>>94365172>>94365177Game designers often try to fight against min maxing and use a variety of ways for that: soft caps, hard caps, global bonuses, requirements to invest in multiple stats and more. The approach to stat scaling can vary, and the cyoa doesn't provide a clear ruling for it. I'm not necessarily claiming that there are caps, I'm against claiming that it's certain there aren't.To be honest, even inside what it does specify, running by common sense, it's rather imprecise. Lifting three times what an average person can lift, wouldn't win you a strongman competition, much less make you a legend. So you could argue that not only there aren't caps, but that the effects grow stronger than linearly. My point is, if you want to argue one way or the other, make arguments based on why you believe doing that would be better, not just based on what the cyoa says, since the answer isn't there.>>94365216That claim feels a bit forced, especially since the previous time it was brought up it was directed at some other anon that agreed that the existence of a soft cap is possible. Example tables usually aren't the only sources of rules in ttrpg and there are broader sets of rules specified, and GMs can make calls that go "against" the system (but the systems themselves often contain the "rule 0").BTW: existence of critical failure does depend on the system, and sometimes also on the type of check. In DND 5e, them being ubiquitous is a variant rule, and in Pathfinder 2e the critical fail is not automatic on a 1, and whether that even has any extra effects depends on the action.
>>94365216>>94365344 preceded me, I was about to post this. In 3.5 (the only DnD I know well), it's an optional rule.
>>94364275This is why I think her as a crusher feels better.
>>94361362>He is stupid, and could be swayed with pretty words, but he is also a loyal knight who serves the system. That's the opportunity to manipulate him. All you've got to do, is make him believe that doing something is for the good of people and Kazimierz. "There is a monster in the forest, please slay him, brave knight!" (it's a benevolent guardian of it). "I need this magical object to cure my little sister!" (it's a core of a barrier generator that protected some place). Plenty of ways to get him to fuck up when there isn't a tardwrangler with him.>>94361577I don't know Arknights mechanics, but I guess this works? Probably bigger on the Survivability than Attack. What's the reason for the "cannot be healed" part? >>94361633>>94364209I thought Gacha go from 1 to 5 stars, and that 5 stars are all cute girls. I imagined him more as 3 or 4 stars, especially since despite being pretty useless outside of combat, he doesn't have maxed Physical Power.
>>94365462Arknights goes from 1 to 6 stars. It also has a plenty of husbandos as 6 stars. Polish Twink would be a 6 star because of that.Juggernaults cannot be healed normally because their damage, def and HP be chonky most of the time. They also gain survivability in the form lf shields/hp regen in skills, etc.

>>94361362>Too bloodthirsty to be talked down, and not vulnerable to the magic voice. He's poor and doesn't have anything to bribe her with.Being poor is truly an unforgiveable sin... Honestly though, Sinner would probably get counter-war crimed if he tried to talk-no-jutsu Lavinia. She can be fairly easy-going for a schizo, but his goals are really bad for her. She more or less relies on the existence of governments for her profession, either with people trying to rebel or with opposing governments fighting each other. Not to say that mercenary work would become fully obsolete in a world of anarchy, but the scale of conflict would decrease substantially.Although that's assuming Sinner is upfront about his ultimate goals. If he hides that and goes for more short term goals (e.x. this rich guy is an asshole and I'd like him dead), then there's a lot more room for negotiation.>>94361577>>94361633Checks out. >>94361476For all the cloak and dagger stuff she gets up to, Supervisor generally would rather try to work with than have them offed. Specifically with any of the other humans I imagine her being a bit too lenient because of her youthful optimism and personal connections. That doesn't mean she won't go against them if she finds it necessary, but it does mean she'll try to extend an olive branch if she gets them cornered and someone could take advantage of that. His relationship with Saviour also creates of a problem that she'd struggle to cope. It becomes increasingly difficult to justify lenience when face to face with a victim of hers.>>94364699Speaking of...Good read! >>94368020No, I did say before that I figured he'd be quite a bit younger than his older brother. I think with advanced biotech of the age, some Trump children tier age gap while still sharing the same mother doesn't seem so crazy. Though I can't speak for Sentinal anon about how badly Savior was robbing the cradle. Both could be true at the same time kek
>>94367969Sentinel was supposed to be in his middle twenties—old enough to be exhausted by the state of the world but young enough to keep going and dream of a bigger world. Now he's been made into a grandma fucker for some reason.
