Fall back and charge means you can benefit from Lance again instead of being stuck in place slapfighting. It also means you can escape from an enemy's screens or tarpit they are hoping to tie you up with and waste your time, and instead charge a different higher value target.

i just finished my first 1k in csm. this is my first army. i have legionaries, havocs, terminators, predator and two war dogs. i am really happy with all these dudes. i ordered a forgefiend and land raider as well. i mostly just like heavy firepower even though i guess csm are more of a melee faction. just like the way they look is all.i'd say with the dudes i ordered i'm getting close to 2k. everyone tells me i need cultists but i just don't like em.
