Who, or what, could be the cause?Second Stratum: Statue Garden- A section of the Petrified Forest lacks its usual trees. Instead, statues of all sorts of Pokemon, petrified in various poses, take their place. Some Delvers swear it wasn't there the last time they went through the area, but with the dungeon constantly shifting, they are somewhat unreliable. Were the statues ever alive, or just decoration all along?Third Stratum: Cave of Wonders- Recently, a Beheeyem resurfaced with one half of a golden, Rabsca shaped token. They were cagey about where they found it, but rumors started to spread about a cave full of magnificent treasure in the Eroded Desert that one could find only if they united the two halves of the token. But is it real, or just an ancient trap?

Sandy with Comeback waiting to come back is far less of a threat, as he loses his resistance to physical damage and Orochi's DoT toxins. I've personally seen CCC as a found family sort of deal. Heather being more of the caring elder sister type to guide the other maids, while Chel is the younger sibling that would help introduce Heather to more mundane entertainment like movies or games. I guess it's up to you and Heatheranon if you want to lock into maids.

The opponent pokemon are yakuza, they don't know how the world works and are used to a much more brutal lifestyle, Roka was born in the Abyss and lives in the wilds, so he too is used to a more brutal "survival of the fittest" life, especially after his "master" died. The fight makes sense, it was well described and showed a lot of character on both sides, it's more like in this kinda setting the fight just would not happen. Every rule has exceptions and this is a very well made one, it's not an impossibility but rather a very rare event, which makes it feel more special. I enjoyed it personally, it just felt odd. I remember that we ended up with grimbright setting because we decided to kinda go in the middle, the actual description of the setting is more like, "Grimdark in the Abyss and more noble in the rest of the world". I don't know if you are familiar with standard PMD but we assume the rest of the world is pretty much unchanged.Overall I think your approach fits well outside of "civilization", switching to more noblebright when in town.
