I feel like I'm not in love with Thalia anymore. I just fantasize about fucking her young body, my thumbs caressing her freckles cheeks, her pale hair and pale innocent white flesh. She is so pure, or at least she was. She's probably had sex with niggers honestly. I don't see her as the angel I once did. It fucks me up inside to have loved someone so strongly and now feel barely anything. I love my girlfriend but it's not the same wsy. I never had that powerful obsessive infatuation I felt for Thalia. Does that mean I don't really love her? I feel like with my girlfriend I faked it til I made it. Now I can't imagine losing her. My life would be so much easier if I was single. I could give up on everything.
>>94675058Can we fucking expect energy in this set too?I'm already tired of energy in Modern goddamnit
Pioneersissies when's the next BR update?
>>94675404I don't think so, unless energy is pushed as a dedicated way to animate vehicles, which is what the entire set is based on. If you're worried about the name "Living Energy" don't sweat it too much, it's a Commander deck, Duskmourn had a Miracle-based Commander precon but it didn't affect Standard at all.

>>94675494did you forget energy broke standard when it first came out?
>>94675526No? I said in my post I don't expect energy to return, but in the unlikely scenario where it does, it would probably be heavily attached to a few vehicles, making it less of a problem than just stapling energy on every single creature and instant/sorcery in the set.
>>94675523>I don't know how pioneers do itthey don't do itnobody is playing pioneereven vintage and duel commander (the two most unpopular 1v1 formats on mtgo) are getting more league results than pioneer
I asked the commander thread if Alesha WSAD would be a decent homebrew commander for an aggro warrior build and I didn't get any replies so I'm going to instead build a shitty pioneer homebrew around Alesha. I'll post the decklist in a little while.
>>94675502Why don't they just ban cards when necessary instead of doing this dance around the corpse of a format?

>>94677330>seems fun and I like that Blue Ojer gets to do something considering they gave him the worst fucking flip condition out of the GodsIf you have any suggestions, I'm open. I started retooling my orzhov Leyline of Hope Pests deck and I think this will be a far better home for the Lesson/Learn Pest plan.
>>94677318I feel so bad the only god that actually made something is the bat.
>>94677340the other Gods at least get to do shit in commander but the Blue Ojer got fucked because of the flip condition
So, with the Rebounding Pests plan, we can keep it strictly UBOr we can stretch into White for Narset and the white token buff tools, or Red for Lilah, Galvanic Iteration and a few other toys.i'm keeping it UB for now but both options seem interesting.
The bell is so good with Glarb bros ... fixes your mana, fuels delirium for Swarmweaver, and stores up shuffles for the top of your deck. MHayashi might be a genius.

>>94677370Glarb is not an EDH card, it is Courser of Kruphix on steroids.
Ah FUCK me Ojer is only Instants and for some god forsaken reason (Which breaks basically all of MTG history consistently grouping the two card types in effects like this) doesn't include Sorceries which most of the Pest summoners are.I just kind of assumed WotC wouldn't be retarded. My bad.
>>94677397i will NOT eat ze bugs
>>94677413You vill not eat zee pests........for nowNarset and Lilah both seem like strong options still. All the Lesson summoning spells are multicolor for Lilah..WHY DOES OJER NOT HIT SORCERY WTF LMFAO

>>94677447>What am I missing?Mo not noticing WotC is retarded and decided to make a single exception ever to the "instant or sorcery" pairing just to fuck with people trying to brew interesting decks.
Ladies and GentlemenPeople of America,I regret to say it, but my last brew was a failure. For one time ever, Wizards of the Coast decided that a design in the FIRE era was too powerful and had to be toned down, leading the blue Ojer to break from the trend of pairing Instants and Sorceries for no apparent reason.I did not notice this and am saddened to say, my countrymen, that it's back to the drawing board.Which has yielded immediate results.
>>94677503God, I hate Lilah so fucking much. The anatomy and pose looks so bad
Man I remember when I first started playing MtG. It was during KTK and for some reason I kept opening Sagu Maulers. I thought they were the coolest shit because they were big bodies and hexproof, except they were shit because they were too expensive and did nothing the turn they came down in the same format Siege Rhino existed. I must have opened 6 or 7 of them, out of only a couple of dozen packs or so. Good times.
>>94677612Yeah OTJ probably had the worst art of any Magic set.
>>94677397>WHY DOES OJER NOT HIT SORCERY WTF LMFAOBecause those types of effects get degenerate with extra turn cards.
>>94676766Cut back on value engines that end the game by themselves. It creates a bad, low skill gameplay flowchart. If a single card ends the game by itself, then the game devolves into everyone jamming these threats and the other player checking their hand for removal, and the first player who runs out removal loses. There's no skill to this, it's a binary flowchart. Oculus is as example. Massive threat, that also is a value engine, that also has recursion.Slow the game down. When an rdw player has a leyline and some mice in his hand, he's going to win if you're not holding 3 removal spells in your opener. Which means neither player is actually making any decisions, they're both just checking the binary flowchart, if player 2 has the removal or not. It removes skill from the game. Longer games mean more player decisions on average, which means skill can play a larger role in the outcome. Make creature combat matter, make blocking and double blocking matter. Make combat tricks matter, other than the leyline decks that just count to 20 and it's not actually an interactive trick.Make Baneslayer Angel and Chandra Torch of Defiance the best cards in the format. 4+ mana, can't win on the spot, either a beatstick or utility not both, the opponent can interact with these and can do so in a few turns without already losing. You can still have strong cards, it's the speed that is the problem with the game these games, and the single-card-wins, have removal right now or the game is already over trend as well.
>>94677441https://www.moxfield.com/decks/O5D8MokflEq3QfOqvc2qiANut draw wins on turn 3, more reasonable to win on turn 4. Good Phoenix matchup. Gets run over by Heroic. Pit of Offerings and Wish gives you some nice maindeck hate for graveyard decks and random gimmicks like Nine Lives.

Initial tests suggest this setup is absolutely vile when it's online, but will require a lot of tuning to find the right support pieces and get solid consistency.Exemplar + Peace of Mind are neat together.
Serra Paragon may also make a good support piece. It's less appetizing to re-cast your reanimating dudes with it, but it could come alongside a good Food package. Probably won't make the cut, but it's another option.

"Life Is Pain" V3.It's going places. Still a little janky but becoming more consistent.Fleshmaker is huge. I tend to lean toward cards that solve more than on problem, and being life gain, filtering, a sac outlet AND a huge threat all rolled into one means he slots right in.I suspected Exemplar would be the best top-end threat and it's settling into that slot. Grows very big, very fast, draws us some cards. Great target for Scavenger's reanimates. It just kind of does everything we want at a reasonable hardcast price. Looking for other options still.Ayli is hilarious. We gain a lot of life, her exiles get online very often and she can solo games once it does.

You know, the keyword mechanics for the wedges in Khans of Tarkir are kinda hit and missAbzan: neither outlast nor bolster has anything to do with black. Bolster fits more with Selesnya with white and green focus on creatures Jeskai: prowess is actually a good mechanic. Both red and blue focus on spell, while red and white focus on counters. This one get a passSultai: delve has nothing to do with green. I think it fits Grixis more. Spells and sacrifices are Grixis’s stuffs.Mardu: Raid is pretty good keyword mechanic for Mardu, red, white and black all focus on combat. They lack blue’s focus on reason and green’s focus on harmony. Dash though, I don’t see how it got anything to do with whiteTemur: Ferocious has nothing to do with blue/red. It’s should have been a green only keyword So only 2 out of 5 are ok, the rest is meh. Man, wizards sure have trouble making the keyword ability for the 3 color combos. >>94682242Basically. Old School seems less interested in being an actual format and more about showing off old expensive collections, and Premodern doesn't want to step on 93/94 format's toes by including sets like Legends or The Dark. At the same time, Fallen Empires is orphened from both and its cards don't have a home, which they should as theyre interesting cards.
>>94677653Good take
>>94682514dredge is a top tier deck in vintagegodbless bazaar of baghdad
>>94682438Wedge mechanics seem more about representing what colors they are not.Abazan- Distributing +1/+1 counters are rare in red and blue with blue usually need counters already being on a creature to add more.Jeskai-Green and black care the least about noncreature spells with green wanting creatures on the field and black in the grave.Sultai- Red and white have the hardest time getting cards in the graveyard with white recently getting to have surveil.Mardu-Blue cares the least about combat and green is there because raid encourages attacking with your weenies that might get killed to end the game quickly while green focuses on having your mana dorks on standby to cast your giant creatures.Temur- At common white and black rarely have any +4 power creatures with red getting them occasionally.

If you look at it from that angle, all of the clan make more sense.

>>94682712I feel you manIts not just a lore thing either.Back in the day there was just a h9igher percentage of people who had fondness for the cards they were playing with on their own merits.Cards like Goyf, Snapcaster, Delver, As Naus, Lili of the Veil, and Twin were strong and iconic but not oppressive enough to be hated, while cards like Mindsculptor were infamous for their power but thanks to banns were kept out of formats were it could pose a real issue. All of these cards were given places of fondness in the community, with comics, fan art, and articles being written about them, a real shared community around the game. Now we exist in a time where if a card is strong enough to be iconic its strong enough to be unfun to play against and to be honest its been like this since the Eldrazi Winter and subsequently that community has mostly faded away. This isn't to say that their have never been iconic broken cards, again see Mindsculptor or cards like Top, but outside of standard they were rare and managed accordingly.

The only color for this combo is redCalendar {1}, AWBO {3RR}My only reason for dipping into blue is the sheer power of enigma jewel right now, which also helps speed up this combo slightly when it goes off (enigma jewel + calendar + 5 lands on board can cast and immediately tap) but its really just a sol ring, which is good but its only +1 mana over say an irencrag by that point. So I ask, would this work better in another shell? Is there some color that would combo coincidentally with AWBO in clumsy hands. Should I just be playing black control with duress cut down anoint annex? Its really only 8 card slots and a red splash necessary to combo here. It could be mono white control with sweeper tribal for all it matters. Clergy is but one example.these Ivory Guardians used to work by creature type and "guardian" was used as a type until 2002 (although I don't think it was eliminated until the grand creature type update of 2007). letting this card buff Clerics or anything else would be way too broken so they can't do that, instead we get some functional errata.
