>>94713891Thankfully yes!Funnily enough there is supposed to be a really raunchy sex seen next episode between wolf man and ashoka next episode. the board wasnt quite sure about it, but filloni assured them it would be a big success.

>>94714100>bring a smile to the faces of the entire family and speak to the heart and soul of star wars.Ah yes, I see, Filoni must be reviving George's, pbuh, ancient wisdom and lore... there are no underwear in space. Truly genius.

I wonder if there is a reliable way to switch over the FFG species to d6?Yes, plenty of the FFG races got their start off in d6, but FFG gives them a lot of narrative and skill widgets to work with and extra lore space to develop, simply because it’s had so much more lore to work from. Also I want to port F&D Force rules in some capacity.
>>94716573Why not just play ffg?

I'll be a retired old goblin zimmering down to the local army-navy club twice a year for games and every one I own will *still* be completely functional because they consist of books and regular dice. Meanwhile in five years you'll be desperately rooting around on some broccolli-haired shitscord server begging for links to an "app" with a dead website that you lost three phones ago and they'll think you're a decrepit grog for not playing whatever paypig simulator has taken over from yours.

Regarding KBs cybernetics issues, it's clear that shes character coded as DisabledHer cybernetics and adaption to her circumstances give her some skills and abilities, but there are downsides, she can't do everything and her friends need to recognize that and not ignore her needs, communicate and listen to her when she says she can't do something. They've relied on her for her strengths repeatedly but ignored her when she said she couldn't do something.A pretty smart Aesop for a modern children's show. >>94715714The gold medal for the most sus thing George has done
>>94724243*taps the sign*
Lorewise this really is the most damning thing Disney has ever released.I don't even know how to explain it away. Sabine had zero aptitude for the Force but was able to throw her friend because she believed in herself enough? That anyone can use crazy Force abilities if they just give it an honest try?
>>94721535Honestly the thing that surprised me the most was how the replacement parts she needed were able to be made so easily a Bronze Age civilization would be able to make it. Which I mean makes sense given how robust SW tech is in general but still it’s a weird thing to see when they do point it out.Although I guess I should be glad SW is still one of the few Sci-fi franchises that actually thinks about maintenance and logistics instead of just hand waving it way like most do.
>>94725002I don't understand what the fuck Filoni was thinking, ignoring how it blatantly ignores how the force works why did Sabine need to be a force user among already being an oc donut steel mandalorian artist with blue hair?
>>94725002I didn't care for it much either, but let's be honest, has the force ever been consistent? It was always just a dumb plot device for giving people crazy magic/wuxia martial arts powers in a space setting. It's not like Death Note where the entire story is built around the mechanics of the supernatural stuff.
>>94725002It gets worse.Theron Shan is the grandson of Bastila Shan and Revan, but he could not use the force because the force had other plans for him. But he tried. He went to the temple, studied for years, and put in the effort. He's also a smart guy, it's not like he was too dumb or not putting in the effort. It's a major part of his character that he's very competent in everything he does and he's passionate about his endeavors, but the force just had other plans for him.So when Filoni has his waifu just develop force powers when she totally believed hard enough, it not only shits on the general way the force works, but it directly and personally shits on Theron Shan as a person/character. You already had people who are smart, passionate, and totally believed super duper hard who couldn't.
>>94725098>Filoni>thinkinglolWe're talking about the guy who believes consistency doesn't matter because Star Wars is just a bunch of stories told around a campfire.
>>94725002just want to put it out there that the bad batch season 3 (the next show to release after ahsoka) went back to "you need high midichlorians to use the force", so ahsoka exists as the outlier (unless you count kanan and ezra just being fucking stupid in rebels and not picking up on it)what gets me is the cope arguments trying to justify it, usually either>B-BUT GEORGE SAID THIS! (something he said in the 80s and disregarded with the prequels)or>kanan says the force flows through all living things in this rebels episode! (despite the dialogue clearly not hinting at sabine being able to use the force, nor was it intended to be, and nobody was making the argument that she was force sensitive based on that dialogue before ahsoka)there is no way to look at this without having to retcon something, or make another character a fucking idiot
>>94722180Aeiou-and-sometimes-y-sop
>>94724997I said suspicious, not damning
>>94724997Based post, never actually thought about that. It's still so funny to me how nobody ever talks about her character, they just simp. Says a lot.
>>94725704>It's still so funny to me how nobody ever talks about her characteryeah, because theres nothing to talk aboutpeople complain that ahsoka is a plank of wood in...well ahsokabut in reality she's always been like that, she just had other (good) main characters to bounce off of, which ahsoka (the show) doesnt have
>>94726030I don't think FIloni's ever made a good character now that I think about it.
>>94726139then again, what counts as a character HE made?
>>94726204Only one I can think of is maybe Saw Gerrera? Can't think of anything he's lifted or """inspired""" from.
>>94726222Saw Gerrera was a character Lucas created for his live-action Underworld show that he introduced in his animated The Clone Wars show.
>>94726235So that just confirms Filoni hasn't ever made a good character of his own
>>94726239Confirms you don't know shit, too.
>>94726252Now type that without crying, Dave.
>>94725398"You are on this council, but we do not grant you the rank of Vowel"
>>94723991Boba Fett escaped from the Sarlacc in the Marvel comics few months after ROTJ aired.
>>94725002It's just a little push in a tension moment, Anon, she trained with Ahsoka for some time before the series so it's implied she put some effort on it before giving up, so she knows a thing or two, even if she's not talented. It's way more believable than Rey mind tricking a stormtrooper without even knowing about it.
So, this thread is nothing but a bunch of retarded /tv/ tourists now, eh?
>>94725166Allow me a moment to play Abeloth's Advocate:>The Force is an energy field created by all living things>It surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together>In effect, every living thing is connected by it, to it>Theron Shan was grandson of 2 powerful Force users>Could not use the Force>Because the Force had "plans" for him>Sabine Wren has no connection to the Force (in terms of actively using it)>Could use Force to save herself and friends, who will no doubt play a major role in galactic events>...because that was the "plan" the Force had for herIf the Force can actively stop someone who should be able to use it from using it, because the Force "had plans", then it stands to reason that the Force can also allow someone who would normally not be able to use it, to use it, because the Force has "plans".If anything, Theron Shan only serves to make >>94725002 more legitimate.

>>94727360Probably not.
>>94727360Depends, for replacement limbs they seem to work pretty well!On the other hand, anything involving the nervous system or brain seemingly gets you to act somewhat more "robotic" so I'd hold off on that.
>>94721535Yah. Its odd that that was WAY better then the fucking pirate shit. The speach of the guy winning the pirates over was super lame. >>94727360Truce at Bakura had a guy with cybernetics who made it (coupled with healthcare on the parts of him that weren't breaking down from old age and such) to like 160. I wouldn't do it on a whim, but I'd consider it in an injury.
In Armada, a Gladiator I and an Arquintins are only two points difference (56 vs 54), but the Gladiator has more dice of higher value on its sides. Why?
>>94725002The Dr. Who robot turns to the camera and says in the old days she would have been rejected for Jedi training because she is so weak. You are not supposed to conclude she literally can't use the force at all, just that she's not going to be anywhere close to replacing Luke.
>>94724234Well, he never had cause to say those exact words in any of the movies or shows up to this point, but I very much believe that Anakin Skywalker (forma de sith) would say some shit like that, considering his dialogue in the prequels.
>>94724997So you're sayin Daothomir Nightsisters are for lewd?

>>94732066>>94730716>>94728745I like both and I wouldn't mind both being canon, just being different variants and models made at different times by different shipyards. Like how we see with Shermans.

>>94732934Good question. Fractal's the OG Rendili version, Lord Poncho version being a later model built by other companies such as KDY and CEC, featuring a compliment of TIEs (also eventually found in Rendili versions), fewer but larger turrets with 360 degree swivel, and major ISD parts compability.
>>94733056I don't recall replying to anything with that you sleemo.

>>94733954>those turretsIt continues to annoy me that someone as technically skilled as Fractal manages to completely misunderstand Imperial design language so badly.

>>94734027please elaborate. at length, if you please
Luke is clearly gay coded
>>94734382>>94734261
>>94734401Non-canon
>>94734027He doesn't misunderstand it, he thinks the visual language George used was stupid and insists on imposing something more "realistic" onto it. Personally, I see both points of view. On the one hand, the lack of visible heavy batteries on ships seems dumb, since these ships clearly pack heat and can blast most starships with ease. We see it all the time. On the other, Fractal's approach makes these turrets stick out, and on more traditional designs this is more obvious, disrupting the clean lines we're used to seeing on our starships. His Bellator is perhaps a shining example of this. It should be bristling with guns, instinctively you know it is. If it were ever to appear in a well-directed space battle, you know it would shred enemy starships. But, knowing the Bellator from the comics, and having seen other takes on it, all these little lumps on its hull look wrong to you. Star Destroyers are supposed to look clean. But he doesn't misunderstand that, he actively rejects it. I think, over the years, he's gotten better at respecting the design language while still making the ships look like they're carrying the firepower we know they do.
I need everyone's favorite games
>>94734468Mine is Tetris.
>>94734456The Bellator actually looks pretty great if you change the turret layout to match a traditional Star Destroyer.

Changing the topic...If my group hates D6, what other system would be better? Especially if they prefer dnd?
>>94735048there's this weird book I have from between the phantom menace and attack of the clones that is, without exaggeration, the 3.5 books mashed together with fantasy words changed into sci-fi terms. They also added some stuff which starfinder would later rip off 1-1 like stamina and wound values being different. It's not the worst thing in the world I will give it that. It is very weird however because it has rules only for things in episodes 4,5,6, and 1, and also Vong stuff for some fucking reason.
>>94735048You can do the old Saga edition, but I'm not a fan. There's this, but I haven't tried it. I guess if they like 5e, they'll like this.https://www.sw5e.com/Other than that, I certainly enjoy FFG (with quite a few house rules), but the dice and books are really hard to get.
>>94734233A few think so. I choose to believe the circumstances of his conception were unremarkable, though whatever happened to keep his father out of his life must be a painful subject to Shmi.
>>94734233that would be better than what we got
I don't understand why Disney removed Mara Jade from canon. Imagine how many money from merch they could've sold
>>94735469Because Mark Hamill looked like pic related by the time they finally got around to making the sequel trilogy. This isn't the face of a character who was going to get a romance story.
>>94735425What's old saga and ffg like? So far they have problems with the combat and movement so >>94735398Would that or starfinder be something you could share here?
>>94722868>>94722870Yoda, Obi-Wan, K'Kruhk, and Celeste Morne are the only people on this list that aren't bums or crazy or both. Yoda is too old to fight, Obi-Wan is dead, K'Kruhk's entire strategy would be to die and sleep it off, and Celeste could only win if Muur helped her.So that only leaves Luke.
So I got the Shatterpoint core box for about $80 or so and just finished putting my terrain together so I was wondering as I move to the actual minis, should I be popping them on now or painting up everything before attaching them? I use Tamiya cement for all my stuff and I'm worried paint would prevent bonding
Han Solo is ugly
>>94735532For Saga, it's modelled around D&D 4e and gets a lot of comparissons to Pathfinder 1e, so if you don't like those, you'll probably have a bad time. you either have to do an all-Jedi party or force no Jedi. Jedi were just THAT much better than everyone else. And what good things non-Jedi got were nerfed by erratas. There were also hard restrictions of taking skills outside your chosen class. Lots of equipment is poorly balanced. So many NPCs really needed another look for missing skills and balance isn't clearly labelled. And for FFG...I'd say my favorite thing about FFG was that it was much less crunchy and more fluffy and narrative. Which was also my biggest issues with it when it came to combat. It's designed to be fully theater-of-the-mind, but when I was playing my GM turned the ranges into actual feet and we used a grid and minis to track where we were when it came to combat. So I think both can get you the experience you want, but both are a case of "Rules as written are just guidelines"
>>94735593>Jedi were just THAT much better than everyone elseThey really weren't.
I'm planning on running the Darkstryder saga for my friends. Never used D6 before though, and i'm planning on doing a lot of space combat. Any recommendations other than letting them roll up their own characters?
>>94735584put them together then paint them
>>94735705Frankly, my advice would be to *thoroughly* read through all the books to get a really good idea of the planets and NPCs involved and then pretty much just throw the printed adventures in the trash and invent your own. I own model train sets that are less of a railroad than the adventures as written. They effectively just have the players reading out a screenplay, and even the dice rolling barely matters because the books expect you to fudge everything to the predetermined outcomes anyways so that the adventure stays on the tracks.
>>94735488No, but it could have easily been the face of a man who lost his wife when is emo nephew turned to the dark side.Instead of Luke having a bad dream about Ben and then sneaking into his Ben's room to murder him at night, they could have made it so that while away doing something, Ben went school shooter, killing the other students and Luke's wife/Mara. Luke returns to find his nephew/apprentice monologuing about how he's going to finish his grandfathers noble work, over his dead wife and snaps. He draws his saber and attacks Ben, almost killing him, but at the last minute pulling back and realizing what he's doing. Realizing that Snoke had been influencing Ben, not to turn Ben, but to try and turn Luke. Luke could have then gone into a self imposed exile, not to end the Jedi, but to find a way to fully overcome the Dark Side. He could have refused to train Rey because he'd come to believe that he shouldn't train another Jedi until he had rid himself of Dark Side. Then instead of ghost Yoda telling him that Rey is awesome, it should have been Ghost Anakin giving his son a long overdue pep talk, telling him that as a Skywalker he'll never rid himself of the Dark Side, that it's a constant challenge to be overcome and that even going through the thing that Anakin fear the most, Luke was still strong enough not to fall. Ghost Anakin could have told Luke that he loved him and was proud of him and then Luke could have actually gone to the salt planet and faced Kylo. He could have gone out and distracted him, long enough for Leia and the rest of the Resistance to escape (after using the Force to tell Leia to go, instead of Poe just randomly figuring it out). Then in a rage at being tricked into letting the Resistance escape, Klyo could have stabbed Luke through the chest. In his last moments, Luke could have pulled Kylo into a tight hug and whispered in his ear "It's alright Ben... I forgive you". Before fading out as he finally becomes one with the Force.
For small scale actions, what's not within the scope of things the average Jedi could do, vs someone "chosen" by the force (with a abnormally high Midichlorian count) like Exar Kun, Revan, Sidious, or Anakin/Luke? For example, I got into a disagreement with a friend because I believe the average Jedi should be able to stop 1 (one) bullet-sized projectile from a slugthrower fired from the distance of 25 meters facing them. My friend believes that the average Jedi wouldn't be able to use the Force to completely slow the projectile down, and they would be forced to use their reflexes to take out their lightsaber and slash the projectile, covering themselves in molten slag. However, we both agree that someone truly touched by the Force could completely slow a number of projectiles down, ala Neo in the Matrix. Which of us is right here?
>>94736238Most jedi wouldn't trust their control of the force to stop a bullet, but I suspect the top half or so could do it in extremis. Chosen by the force = do anything.Skilled, expert Jedi will dodge, pull objects to use as a shield, use their saber (and resist the slag too), or fuck with the shooter's aim before trying a Neo.
>>94736238>>94736291Midichlorians only denote potential in the Force. There's a bare-minimum you need, and from then on, you can trainmaxx yourself to beat any Chosen One. Vader was actually kinda shit, compared to Mace Windu and even his own apprentice.
What stops a Sith Lord from just stomping any encounter with non-Force sensitives? Jedi typically avoid killing, but yeah Sith don't care at all and will use overwhelming force.
>>94736841For most of the setting's timeline, the need to remain secret constrains what a Sith can do. If you go around killing piles of normies, the Republic/Jedi will eventually notice and come to get you.But in situations where Sith can operate openly, you get the Rogue One hallway scene.
>>94736560>Vader was actually kinda shit, compared to Mace Windu and even his own apprentice. How you actually figure that? He was beyond Jedi Master level before 25
What makes Anakin so handsome compared to other men? for me it's his mental retardation.
>>94737155Specifically for the Mace case, Vaapad shits all over Anakin. His mastery of Djem So wouldn't overcome Windu's mastery of Vaapad, and when Anakin tries to use the Dark Side for an amp like he did against Dooku, Vaapad loops inside of Mace and amps him beyond Anakin multiplicatively until Anakin loses. At least, that's how it's supposed to work in theory. George Lucas himself said Mace beat Sheev in the 1v1, so excluding the Vaapad technique, Mace is just the best duelist in the Galaxy at the time.
>>94737242Possibly losing in a fight to Mace Windu of all people isn't really an inditement
>>94737184We didn't meet any other teenager/young adult male in the prequel movies.
>>94735532Starfinder is entirely on the archive of nethys site, the Wizards system is something you'll have to ask the sharethread for. The version I have is the original Star Wars: Roleplaying Game Core Rulebook unrevised version.
>>94735469It wasn't Disney, it was Lucas. He hated Mara Jade becaue Jedi aren't suppose to have attachments also because he was a single dad post-divorce. It's one of the reasons along with Dark Empire (which he also disliked) that he began taking a more activist hand in okaying EU projects when previously they were all being okayed by his secretary.Current day LFL aside from wolf-man doesn't even know who Mara Jade is since you know there's no novels and comic books according to Kennedy.
would
>>94738040>Jedi aren't suppose to have attachmentsBut.. sex if fine...They don't need to get married...
>>94738144
>>94738186There's a Lucas quote out there that Jedi aren't celibate. Also, since the Force can be genetically passed, something estabilished since TESB, the Order probably kept tabs on possible offspring out there. Funny, because I think the worst thing the Council would do to Anakin's children would be remove them from Padme and train them. And maybe send Anakin somewhere else to reflect on his attachments.
>>94738332Given that strength in the force is a rare trait and tends to be heritable, one must wonder what percentage of the Jedi were actually the bastard children of other Jedi.
>>94738304This comic was made by a man, they won't understand

>>94739912That's not the case even if you ignore the sequels and prequels

>>94738040>It's one of the reasons along with Dark Empire (which he also disliked)Wanna know how I know you're bullshitting? He interfered in Dark Empire to insist on Palpatine's resurrection, as they instead wanted either Vader, or some dude wearing a copy of Vader's armor. >>94742471The Lucas-Dark Empire part of your comment was widely believed for many years, but it has since been shown to be not true. Lucas was not involved in the creation of Dark Empire -- the director of publishing (and his former secretary) Lucy Autrey Wilson was, and she was the one in communication with author Tom Veitch about the story. She is the one who gave permission to resurrect the Emperor, and not to do Vader. Star Wars Insider investigated this matter thoroughly a few years ago and came to a detailed conclusion about it, and Lucy shared more information confirming Insider's reporting in recent years. She said, despite Veitch's claims, that "I never asked George anything" about the story, and that when George found out, he was actually very upset Palpatine had been brought back. You can listen to Lucy talk about it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/StarWarsEU/comments/vso18w/lucy_autrey_wilson_creator_director_of_the/

>>94744115Are you the GM?
>>94744143Yes. I plan to run a far future (after empire) campaign where the Sith took over and have mastered undead creation and resurrection. I intend for them to have grotesque levels of power.
>>94744155Then you do not need 'feats', because 'feats' are a pc rules interaction that does not need apply to the GM.You could make simply make them racial abilities if you really, REALLY need to mechanically justify it, but I think you are putting roadblocks on a creative process.
>>94744174I intend for the PCs to be dark siders who broke away from evil due to the force itself waking them the fuck up due to a need for balance to be restored. These dark siders will effectively be antiheros and retain their evil powers, yet use them for good, or at least neutrality. The dark side wants them back under it's thumb, but the light side shields them from consquences out of necessity. Both sides of the force have become godlike alien entities.
>>94744226If you are running d20 and they are already supposed to have the abilities, why not just GIVE it to them, or tie the abilities to level gain?Making them feats means you are, at best, limiting something you said the players would already have.Unless there is something you aren't mentioning?

When it comes to the Empire, would you rather make them more rational or absurd in terms of evilness?
>>94754462Both. The higher ups and grunts become even more absurd, while the mid-level beaurocrats act rationally.
>>94754462You need a bit of both. On the one hand, you need absurd supervillain/superweapon schemes to enhance the pulp narrative - if the principal acts of evil are bureaucratic lawfare or corporate range wars over barbed wire, or milquetoast ethnic cleansing in acts of colonialist aggression, nobody really wants to bother with that when they could be fighting evil space wizards or planet-destroying death stars. On the other hand, you need to give people a rational motivation for being pro-Empire, and "we execute everybody who farts without permission, and what we do to rebel POWs you don't want to know" is not rational - the point of an Empire is to have something to rule, and myopically self-destructive Weyland-Yutani syndrome is unpleasant to read in any circumstances, let alone happy-go-lucky family-friendly space operas.
>>94752987thats not dumber than any other star war tank I've ever seen¯\_(ツ)_/¯
>>94752987it's too busy
>>94754462Yes. A mostly rational structure filled with people acting mostly out of rational self-interest that genuinely benefited from the Empire, but every so often there's some guy in there that by means of blackmail or personal favor from some very high up figure (son(-in-law), personal amicability, history together, whatever) is basically untouchable, despite him being an incompetent foppish buffoon at best, and a dangerously unstable madman at worst. Never mind the people who (mostly) grew up during the age of the Empire and as such have an actual fanatical loyalty to it, not having known differently and having been propagandized.

Do you prefer unstoppable Vader or a Vader with limits?
>>94756505>non-canon shit
>>94756593Vader is already limited in his suit, he is in constant pain and can't shit properly.
>>94756505Definitely the "Vader with limits" option. In the original movie, he gets yeeted off into space after Han takes his squadron by surprise during the Death Star trench run. He's highly competent, but still far from unbeatable.
I used to like Filoni when I was younger but I don't like his recent work anymore. He's made a few bad decisions in a row.
>>94756701That's called revenge of the sith.
>>94756505Vader should be "unstoppable" within limits.Vader is an implacable foe without subtlety, but he is also a man of almost limitless pride (or arrogance) within the bounds of his own abilities - and he is aware of his own strength, which is considerable - and a personal set of standards. He does not waste his time, or his own physical motions, certainly not with those beneath his contempt. His character archetype, in cinematic terms, bears more resemblance to that of the Monster than the man - Frankenstein's creation, the Mummy, the shark in Jaws, the T. rex in Jurassic Park, the other Jaws in the James Bond films. He will walk in a straight line towards his objective even if it means punching through a wall, but he is not the sort of person to throw down his cape like an anime character or Dark Souls boss then level up to Super Saiyan x3 while doing a pirouette out of a Tchaikovsky ballet slicing through 10 million enemies into 100 billion cubic pieces of watermelon, which is a horrific tendency of writers in Star Wars comic books. I despise that sort of edgy fanwank that leaked into Rogue One's endign scene. Leave that for Genndywars - I don't want it contaminating Vader. As a side note, Vader does not actually kill, or even cause to be killed, as many characters (even nameless mooks) in the original trilogy as one would expect if they had only read books or played video games. When he says >The Emperor is not as forgiving as I amhe really means it - this Vader is nowhere near as bloodthirsty as he appears in ancillary media, or for that matter Episode III.
So, /swg/, what did you think of the latest episode of Star Wars Goonies? How will our intrepid heroes get out of the jam they're in this time? What big twist will the final episode reveal?
