Enjoyed base game several times, considering expansionsBest/Worst?
Prosperity might be the best to start with, it adds Platinum and Colony if nothing else
>>94752701Seaside and Dark Ages were my favorites. Prosperity is good too.
>>94752701its out on steam now
>>94752701Most expansions are good. Alchemy is the only one that most fans don't particularly care for.
>>94752701Prosperity is a classic because of Platinum and Colony like >>94755705 said, it takes the game to a bigger scale and lets you have some huge turns if you like big moneyI also like Empires because of the alt VP cards. And yeah like >>94758679 said the game is free on steam and is a way to sample different sets and see what you like, you have to buy the expansions for it too but you can sample different cards through the daily games. They also used to rotate a free set every week to let people demo it but I don't know if they still do that
>>94752701>BestMost 1st Edition Expansions>WorstMost 2nd Edition versions of the ExpansionsIf at all possible, buy the first editions and get the second edition update packs. The second edition cards are like 20% great and 80% less fun than the original cards.I recommend Prosperity, Seaside, and Empires. Intrigue and Dark Ages are also neat.Avoid Alchemy unless you are a collector who must have it all, like me.
>>94764545For the most part I think the replacement cards are better than the originals. For the Base game and Intrigue the 2nd editions really just replaced cards that were boring and didn't get played anyway. The big mistake I think was when Don pivoted to removing cards that are good but "unfun" like Goons, Mountebank, Embargo, Ill-Gotten Gains. Let the players decide what is unfun and what they want to leave out of their games
