Now that Greyhawk is officially part of D&D 5.5E, are you going to play in it? Are you going to use the gods of Greyhawk, the City of Greyhawk, or any other parts in your own game?

>>94762866Here's the Greyhawk Reborn campaign guide for 5E that got cancelled on patreon. http://greyhawkreborn.net/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/GHR-CAMPAIGN-GUIDE-v1.0-1.pdf
Best Greyhawk adventure?
>>94762866>gods of GreyhawkHEIRONEOUS!Also, living greyhawk from the 3.5e era has tons of material you can use for inspiration.
>>94763115>St Cuthbert for me>That's a paddlin'... I mean cudgelin'...
>>94762866No. I'll continue using my homebrew setting, as god intended.
>>94763428What's your homebrew setting got that Greyhawk doesn't?
>>94763508Taste. Coherence. Catgirls.
>>94763115I fucking love Trithereon. He's so much cooler than Kord.
>>94762866Does 5.5e comes with a Greyhawk supplement or guide? If not the setting will be just addressed in the core as flavor dressing (like was in 3.x) and nobody will care. Even if it wasn't the case nobody will care either way, the only reason wotc used greyhawk this time is to avoid losing the rights on the ip.
>>94762866Going to? I've been running a 5e campaign out of a converted N1 module since September of 2020. I've scrounged what lore I could from canonfire, greyhawkonline, and pdf shares of old modules and/or Dragon/Dungeon magazines. The Fighter follows Heironeous and when he wants divine guidance on what he should do I have him make a Wisdom check to have his faith remind him of his god's tenets. The Cleric worships Velnius and is absolutely up his own ass with thunderous power. The Wizard is a massive fucking nerd that tries to make friends with or enslave interesting magical creatures for academic purposes. The party has been made knights of The Gran March, discovered subterranean ruins beneath the Rushmoors full of molemanified Vecnites, allied with a valley elf that seeks to liberate the Vale of the Mage, have learned that a Heironean relic is locked away in Dispater's tower in the second layer of Hell, yet they still technically haven't done more than imprison the titular Reptile God.>>94765285The new DMG has a setting synopsis ranging from pg 143-171, which I haven't gotten around to reading because I already know what's going on in my version of Greyhawk.
>>94765569Does anyone have this extract from the new DMG?
>>94766567trimmed it from my copy, enjoy https://files.catbox.moe/n0njgz.pdf
>>94767251After reading the file you posted, i agree 100% with this guy. A flanderization of the setting, with retarded changes for the sake of change.https://ageofgreatsorrow.wordpress.com/2024/11/06/entirely-unsolicited-grognard-opinions-on-the-world-of-greyhawk-in-the-2024-dd-dungeon-masters-guide/
>>94767251Thanks, anon, appreciated.
I do like that they brought back the Hierarchs of the Horned Society and the Bandit Kingdoms as well. The Empire of Iuz was a boring lump and the original configuration was far more interesting from a political and adventuring perspective.
>>94767546While I don't agree with the pedantic complaints of the blog, the revised "classic" Greyhawk guide he made is definitely good and sells itself. https://www.dmsguild.com/product/502554/Classic-Guide-to-Greyhawk
Redpill me on Yolanda.
>>94762866Which OSR ruleset is best for Greyhawk?
>>94770671Probably AD&D so that you can use all the supplements and adventures that were so published in the 1980s without having to convert the stats. And have all those assassins, cavaliers and thief-acrobats the other games are missing.
>>94769440Yolande. And no, no matter what WoTC says, she is not black.
>>94769440>Yolande is the grey elven queen of the elven kingdom of Celene. Her honorifics include "Her Fey Majesty," the "Faerie Queen," the "Perfect Flower of Celene," and "Lady Rhalta of All Elvenkind". Yolande has white skin, lilac-colored eyes, and is breathtakingly beautiful. She was described as being more beautiful than any woman men ever seen. >Yolande is advised by her chief advisor and cousin, a noble elf named Onselven. Prince Brightflame, better known as Melf, is also a cousin. Yolande has taken a number of Royal Consorts during her reign, the first being Prince Triserron, whose death prompted the Hateful Wars. Her most recent consort is Prince Fasstal Dothmar, wielder of Concluder. Yolande makes her home in Celene's capital of Enstad, where she resides in the Palace of the Faerie Queen. She is protected by the Knights of the Companion Guard.>Originally from the Celene settlement of Bellmeadow, Princess Yolande was already an accomplished fighter and wizard when she ascended the throne in 361 CY. Yolande was chosen by the princes of the realm to unite the nation against expansionist Keoland. When the Keoish garrisons were expelled, Yolande organized Celene's defenses, whilst her consort, Prince Triserron, defeated the Keoish forces in a number of minor engagements.>Near the end of the 5th century CY, Triserron was ambushed and slain by orcs in a narrow pass in the Lortmils, just south of Courwood. The death of her beloved led Yolande to lead her nation and the Ulek States in the Hateful Wars of 498-510 CY, clearing the Lortmils of every orc, goblin, and other evil humanoids. For her role in the hateful Wars, the Grand Court of Celene awarded Yolande the Mantle of the Blue Moon, naming her "Lady Rhalta of All Elvenkind".tl;dr She's Gygax's Elf Queen Galadriel expy.
this is what an elf is supposed to look like
>>94771511A male elf, specifically, right?
>>94771536Anon, it's current year, the women are allowed to wear armor too.
>>94771536yes the females should be naked in my bed
>>94771581Allowed, but not obliged to. >>94771641You encounter 1d6 Felfs. Roll initiative.
>>94763795>Catgirlswith or without dicks?
>>94769440She's cool like Fonzie, she needs to pee, and if anyone moves she'll execute every last fucking one of you.
Rolled 4 (1d6)>>94771647Easy, I understand that it's scary and spontaneous to appear in an unsightly human's chambers unannounced, I'm sure we can figure out how this happened.DM what do I roll to try to talk down a hostile Felf, diplomacy skill, persuasion skill, or do I just make a d20 roll and consult the CHA matrix?

>>94767546>https://ageofgreatsorrow.wordpress.com/2024/11/06/entirely-unsolicited-grognard-opinions-on-the-world-of-greyhawk-in-the-2024-dd-dungeon-masters-guide/I will never understand people who seem to want every Greyhawk product ever to be "canon", even the ones not written by Gygax. Like this guy goes on a huge rant about the Circle of Eight, but it's about the TSR-created Circle of Eight which has absolutely nothing to do with Gygax's concept and which Gygax disliked intensely. He's being as much of a corporate shill as the 5.5E DMG writers, just for TSR instead of WotC.
