I FUCKING TOLD YOU NIGGA. I predicted that the combat engineer kit would be able to build grenadiers too, just like how you can build deathmarks or immortals with one necron kit. I TOLD YOU. GRENADIERS CONFIRMED!
>>94766962>TQThe paintjob is fine but I think you need to add a bit more to the base. Having nothing but snow is just a bit boring.Maybe add some rocks or ice crystals in there to break it up a bit?
>>94766974God these models got massacred in the transition between resin and plastic.
>>94766975Thanks anon, good idea! I have only been painting for about 3 months but have finished about 1100 points of Templars as of this week, decided on snow for bases but am open to making it better. Any suggestions for what to use for rocks etc?
>>94766974>35 points>box of 5
>>94766962How did you make that snow? I don't like it. Its too fluffy.
>>94766974Dumbass that's the ability name moron.
>>94766993It's just Valhallan Blizzard
>>94766974Grenadier is the rule they have. If they were actually DK Grenadiers they would have hotshot weapons instead of shotguns. It is also a type of infantry so they aren't saying "you can build these as grenadiers" but are saying "as a grenadier type of soldier".
>>94766982I bought a basing rock kit off Amazon like a lazy dumbass in order to get the right sizes, but you can quite literally just walk outside and grab some rocks off the ground. Here's some ice and snow bases I did with them. For ice you can just paint light blue and drybrush up to a white. Then just add snow.
>>94766974you are fucking retarded my dudegrenadiers are dead and we're never getting themthey've been amalgamated with engineers and it's their ability and face mask that lives on
>>94767014That looks really cool, gonna give that a go. Thanks fren!
>>94767014Don't feel bad anon, I 3d print my rocks
>>94767014>>94766982And if you prefer the rocky snow terrain instead of icy snow, cork is your friend. Buy a few sheets from a hobby store or online and rip it apart to glue onto your base. Paint over that, add your snow, and you've got a decently good-looking rocky texture poking out through the snow.
>>94767018Truly abhorrent behavior, have a terrible day
>>94766990It will change after the box goes live and go up some, but they wont stop being auto-includes until at least a few months after they are sold separately. Even at 50-60 points for five they would be great.
>>94766990>$60
>>94767018As a votranny should
>>94767027I like them being perfectly flat on one side and it is a great way to use up left over resin lol.
>>94767037>>94767041>>94766990>Now imagine engineers don't perform well and need to be lowered in points
>>94766974Anon, the engineer kit doesn't make grenadiers, the engineers just have that rule. Learn to read.
>>94766974This is a special rule. Grenadiers are dead. Or rather, grenadiers and engineers have been merged into the unified krieger equivalent of cadian kasrkin.
>>94767060That is basically impossible, five bodies for 35 points would be good even if they were straight up random dudes. >>94766974Points page has been leaked, we now have confirmation there are no grenadiers :)
>>94766981It's not even close, managerial cashcow retardation. Can't imagine wanting to buy these shitty ass knock-offs after you've seen what ForgeWorld put out for DKoK and how flavorful it all was. Then again I'm not a consoooomer who buys a bunch of shit for the thrill of spending money.
>>94767087I don't think theyre meant to be elite.
>>94767106No but I am saying at 35 points they would be good if they were just five guardsmen with no special rules other than perhaps scout. Extremely cheap action monkeys are good on their own.
>>94767087WHERE
>>94767129Here I guess
>>94767106any army in the game would kill for 5 bodies that can do actions for 35Space Marines have been using Scouts since 5th just for cheap troops and they're 5 for 70
>>94767144>35 points for a squad of 5 grenade-spamming action monkeys with a ton of F R E E anti-vehicle mortal wounds AND scout HOLY SHIT THEY'RE BROKEN
>>94767159We already knew the points for those, it was on the warcom article. They will go up in like a week or two but probably not to more than 50 points. Then a few months after they are available separately they will go up to like 65 points probably.
>>94767144Codex point values are always wrong. Expect a lot of these numbers to go up, and expect guard players to piss and moan like they always do
I have a lore question is this the place to ask?
>>94767144Ha ha ha, holy shit. 35 points for a glass cannon. Wonderful.
>>94767171I can't get over how broken the Kriggers are. 35 points? I can just run them at tanks and throw grenades + remote mines for 0 CP cost and like 9 mortal wounds per tank.Cheapest action monkey in the game too. Fuck, man.
>>94767176sure why not
>>94767182Is it heretical to practice safe sex in the Imperium?Like condoms, other forms of birth control, etc.
>>94767176It is all satire if that is your question.
>>9476719240k has no defined rules like that. The fiction in general is very loose and inconsistent.
other than the occasional warp stuff, is every weapon that the nids used part of the or biological? don't they have regular tech too?
>>94767197Gotcha Thanks for helping.
>>94767192would depend on the world, there is a huge variety
>>94767144Can anyone make out how many points it says the taurox primes is here?
>>94767217Taurox is 75 prime is 90
>>94767144Is the scion detachment not in the book?
>>94767200With Tyranids, there's no distinction. Their biology is their technology.
>>94767231I don't have the book, just posted the page I got from elsewhere. But no based on this I would say not, but they have said it still works with the codex.
>>94767181Really obnoxious
>>94767200>don't they have regular tech too?Nope. Developing new technology and evolving new bioforms are one and the same.A mere termagaunt is several different bioforms: the creature itself, its weapon, and the ammunition in said weapon are all tyranid bioforms the hivemind bent to its purposes, and all of them are alive.
>>94767222Sweet, ty. My blind ass couldn't tell.
>Dudes with good rules you might want a lot of>35 points, 5 models/boxIG players getting fleeced, as usual.
>6 Kriggers>One Grenades shot deals 3 mortal wounds>4 of the Krigger squads deal D3+3 mortal wounds>23 mortalsIt takes 210 points of kriggers to kill a Knight
>>94767231None of the grotmas are in the books. >>94767144I'm gonna have to rip arms off of scions to slap Las carbines on and call em engineers at this insanely low point cost.
>>94767144BASADO

>Guard codex is pulled for being too overpowered>Dropped again>Still overpoweredI wonder what kind of ungodly 7e Eldar fuckup the unnerfed guard codex was

Does anyone have White Dwarf pdfs from like the last year?
>guard is OPwtf I hate IG now>>94767264>guard can easily make Knightfags piss their pants and crywtf I LOVE IG nowI will gladly offer my enjoyment up so that Knightfags can be more miserable.
Dark Eldar refresh is coming. I can feel it.
If you combine two boxes of Engineers, does that mean the squad gets two mines?
>>94767262>Buying official plastic for the army that can literally look like whatever you want.
What 40k audiobook should I listen to today?
>>94767233I know but I meant mechatronic stuff>>94767256yes they impregnate the gun to spawn the children and then launch them for one of the weapon
>>94767336That was me, thank you. Love me white-haired zealout nuns.
>>94767315Don't care. Still flanking with pitbulls.
>>94767348>I meant mechatronic stuffHard no. Everything Tyranid is biological from their gravity manipulation to ammunition. Even fucking bone swords are bioforms.>yes they impregnate the gun to spawn the children and then launch them for one of the weaponIn some cases this is probably true but I think in the case of the Fleshborer the gun is basically an incubator and launch device. I don't think the beetles are the gun's offspring.
>>94767316God modern 40k art looks so fucking bad digital art was a mistake
>>94767336Nice feet
>>94767367I didn't know they can manipulate gravity
>>94767342High kahls oath
>>94767379I think that's basically how their FTL works since they can't Warp travel. They have a bioship that can gravity the shit out of a tunnel between them and their target, compressing the space between the two points.
>>94767379It's how they do FTL.It's incredibly destructive when they do it within star systems, too- if done too close to planets, a fleet passing by can rip them out of their orbits.
>>94767385I bet the Necrons can or used to be able to do that too
>>94767392They don't need to, they have inertialess drives and Dolmen Gates.
why are DKOK models half as cheap as every chaff infantry in the game but with firepower as good as a 100pt unit's
>>94767403Because they aren't, there will never be a time where you can actually use these points in a competitive game. There will be a points update before the codex is allowed at tournaments.
>>94767403So they can sucker in tournyfags to spend thousands of dollarydoos on grey plastic only to nerf the rules into oblivion before the general release of the book. Just like Votann in 9th
>>94767403>why are DKOK models half as cheap as every chaff infantry in the game but with firepower as good as a 100pt unit'sEngineers are a 5-man squad of T3 dudes and Grenades only has an 8" range. They're also armed with shotguns and maybe one GL so they probably have zero threat outside 12". That said the remote mine is pretty good at delivering even more mortals so you can't just ignore them.
>>94767403The engineers lack a good way of actually getting near anything unless you stick them in reserves or a chimera in which case you're adding +75pts to them on principle. People are acting like they're going to be deepstriking at 6" away, they're a 5 man squad at T3 5+, that need to be almost in charging distance to do anything, they can easily get picked up by incidental fire, it's not mind boggling as to why they're so cheap.
>>94767472There are two ways to field them that I can think of. The first is supporting an infantry squad to discourage the infantry squad from being charged (squad could fall back and then get grenaded/mined) or as action monkeys. On their own they wont do a whole lot unless you are lucky or the opponent screws up.
>>94767472Don't they get 6 inch scout moves so turn 1 you just move them behind LoS and that leaves you free to mine + grenade t2on the midboard?
>>94767472>5+Do we know that for sure? It's probably a 4+ like Grenadiers had.Still, assuming a 4+ save, a 5-man squad of intercessors wipes them with an extra point of damage to spare in one round of shooting, and that's without resorting to the grenade launcher. I didn't account for cover for the Kriegers, but I also didn't give the marines any bonuses or rerolls.
Why does Lord Marshal Dreir have a name instead of a clone vat number?
>>94767514to be fair, Intercessors are absolutely undercosted in terms of firepower after the buffs.
>>94767518Death Korps officers have names and have had them since at least Vraks, they're implied to go through a different upbringing to the normal Guardsman and may intentionally be allowed to have more autonomy to stop them being as smoothbrained as their soldiery. Exceptional soldiery promoted into officers might be given a name.
>>94767514They have always had a 4+ save so it would be odd for them to have a 5+ now. They also look fairly armored in the pictures.
>>94767523Ehh, somewhat. It's still only bolt rifles and one grenade launcher. It isn't until you start digging into all the bonuses and abilities marines can buff them up with that they become a problem on their own.
>>94767552it's 4 shots per dude, it's kind of nuts. 20 shots on a 5 man is way above what your average group does
>>94767336Either post her bulge or go
Why is everybody so mean in this thread?
>>94767585Becuase this thread has the most secondaries and tourists from /v/ and /pol/ who only come here to shitpost and don't actually want to engage in any sort of discussion about the actual hobby
>>94767585Anyone who spends more time on this forum than playing the game or hobbying is a bitter soul that laments about a hobby they no longer find joy in and only persist to bemoan their state to any they can force to listen to them.
>>94767585They aren't, it's just schizos shadowboxing. Actual posters talk about the game and post models.
>>94767601Some of us are here because we are working from home and not able to do anything else meaningful with the hobby until we get off work . . .
>>94767585This fucking sucks
>>94767618>>94767601And some of us are here because we are "working" from work and not able to do anything else meaningful with the hobby until we get home either.
Bummer, most of the good stuff is locked behind stratagems
What was your nicest Warhammer related experience in the last year?
>>94767615only a single anon posted models in this thread so far lol
>>94767640>It's about transports instead of tankspamthank fuck
>>94767645Thread has only been up for a couple hours, most people are at work, and there was just a huge bit of new game info to be discussed. You're a faggot. Look at last thread.
With Ablative Plating being a stratagem, maybe the regular Rogal Dorn has a new ability?
Beastmasters are technically part of the the Cult subfaction, but where do Mandrakes go? They're not really specifically part of Cults, Covens or Kabals but are more like free agents.Obviously a drukhari re-release would probably bring back some resin stuff into plastic, like Grotesques. But what if they just did something like>plastic Kheradraukh, king of Mandrakes>Nightfiend to lead units of Mandrakes>Shaderavens>Shadow DaemonsAnd then you could have Mandrake armies
>>94767694>but where do Mandrakes go?In the trash like the rest of their misbegotten faction.
wow outside the rules, the codex is pretty underwhelming. I fucking hate how gay GW is, the day they decided that no model no rule shit was the worst shit they ever did.
>>94767701Chapterhouse...
>>94767601I am here because I am depressed and being here makes me depressed so I stay here and become more depressed.
>>94767694Mandrakes, Incubi, and Scourges are all technically part of neutral organizations of their own that serve the city as a whole.

>>94767790>Uhm excuse me sweaty those cadians look like kriegers you're going to have to use the correct datasheet
>>94767733>>94767694Khimera should blatantly be a fleshcrafter coven unit it's literally a scary dog thing with it's skin removed 6 eyes and tentacles the other beasts looks like shit and shoudl be axed, but fleshdogs should totally be like the fast attack where Grotesques are the hulking heavy elite thing, wracks the troops, etcI'd play DE for that alone

are the peak ancient Eldar and peak Krorks equals?
>>94767894I mean, are Titan pilots and Space Marines equal? It's kind of a meaningless question
>>94767640>constant "except titanic" restrictionsare we really afraid of letting stormlord have its day in the sun?
>>94767894No, Krorks were massively more powerful.Eldar were only created to spawn avatars of their gods in order to fight the C'tan, which they weren't even good at. Krorks did the actual fighting during the War in Heaven.
>>94767879NTA but probably because rules wise it's gotta be the most uninteresting wargame out there
>>94767862Play casual narrative games with medium-sized armies.
>>94767879I dunno, I just don't find it fun anymore. It's such a hassle dragging the army around, the actual gameplay doesn't engage me, etc.Maybe I just need an extended break.
>>94767911I bet the Krorks looked majestic in a way, like big and strong but not mangled like the Orks

what would be a cool replacement for the warp if you wanted to make 40k less fantasy like? Something cool that could be used to spice shit up while still being a bit less mumbo jumbo compared to the warp

But because they're also super tactical each squad is basically an army by itself which means they could pull off missions just like in Astartes. They're best friends with the Deathwatch for being xenos killers but hate the rest of the Inquisition for being corrupt and overly radical, Their main battle tactic is to utilize their super tactical nature to sneak up and ambush their targets with power knives, using hyper-brutal executions to terrify other targets. They're good at fighting everyone but they like fighting Tau and Eldar the most because those are dumb xenos who don't understand that mankind is king in the galaxy and the aliens just need to go extinct.Their Chapter Master is Sephiroth Rex, who uses a jump pack and elongated Power Katana to impale his enemies from above.

Their martial doctrine and specialty is razing entire planets even if there is the smallest seed of heresy, and readily sacrificing allies if it means the mission succeeds. Their big secret is that they maybe are not so loyal to the Emperor as you would think, and are using the Imperium for their own goals. They are called the Doom Reapers or Death Reapers. Their icon is a hooded, grinning skull with a knife clamped in its teeth, over a mushroom cloud explosion.

Do you realize how utterly depressing it is that humans have the home field defensive advantage, positioning, and manpower in nearly every battle... and they lose constantly? Most Ork Waaaghs start with Orks throwing asteroids full of boys at the planet and whoever lives basically starts building their empire, logistics, and equipment from scratch. Its the equivalent of having an hour to turtle and build your defensess in Starcraft and then get absolutely BTFO in every game.

When I was like 14 or so I wrote a fanfic where a team of inquisitors were sent on a world infested with chaos cultists and genestealers, it followed the leader of the inquisitors as he slowly becomes unhinged and violent as he's corrupted by Khorne, an underling who plans a coup to oust him as a Tzeentchian plot, and a woman who's slowly being transformed into the genestealer patriarch's wife. It's been deleted for about a decade now, should I rewrite it? I'm off for half of next week for some reason.
>>94771344As in they'll stop making Primaris models and revert to older short marines in non Mark X armor? Zero chance. It's the midgets that are slowly being erased.

>>94771430When I was 14 I wrote a Mass Effect style teamup between SM, IG, Eldar, Tau, Orks, and Necrons against my Dawn of War CSM. I had a color scheme for all of them and had them do big bot matches in Dawn of War.

Excuse me, sir? Why don't the Eldar just fuck off to another galaxy? I get they don't want to abandon the Crone worlds but they have planet-sized self-sustaining ships. Surely fucking off from the Milky Way would be preferable.
>>94771545They literally cannot exist without spirit stones. They're a cucked race.
>>94771545>"[we] shall diminish, and go into the west">4th Tyrannic war erupts on western galactic plane>"shit"
>>94771545Thats effectively but the Deldar did, but they're reliant on the torture of mortals and they absolutely have to have chattle or they die. Craftworlders are utterly reliant on spiritstones, which means they have to be near the Eye of Terror. There isnt much beyond the galaxy and if the nids are any idea, its not any better. So they're stuck. They're a doomed and dying race thats the whole point. Its GRIM and DARK.
>>94771545Addressed at the end of the Beast series. There is no point for the Aeldari to leave cause Chaos would follow them or bee where new galaxy they end up because Chaos knows no limits. There is an example of a craftworld that left the galaxy. It still got invaded by daemons.
>>94771545Eldar are noble and couragous in their own way and will not abandon the exodite eldar who they feel they owe a debt to, to extinction and extermination. They will not give up the dream of the eldar race somehow finding a way to continue living free from Slaanesh
>>94771577>>94771553None of what you said is true.Drukhari can quit their lifestyles and be something else. It's not unheard of for the Drukhari to switch to any of the Aeldari cultures. They don't need spiritstones. It's not the reason why they don't leave. The reason is that it's pointless. Chaos cannot be outrun. You can't escape Chaos because the Warp is everywhere.
So I've painted up 3 different armies, and have even played plenty of games against myself. How do I actually play a game against someone else? Do you just show up at a flgs with an army? I tried that 3 months ago and nobody there had 40k models, they were just playing magic and digimon tcg.

>>94771607A dark eldar who kicks the torture habit will still need a spirit stone. It's why leaving the Dark Eldar is virtually impossible. They have to convince a Craftworld to give them an unused stone, which is something most Craftworlds don't keep just laying around. If they don't have one then they're doomed to be consumed as soon as Slaanesh so much as glanced their way.
>>94771545>Why don't the Eldar just fuckThey didn't make a path for having sex so have to figure out when to work it into their other paths.
>>94771644No. The Mike Brooks novel mention that there are Drukhari who joined Craftworlders, Exodites, Corsairs, Ynnari and the Harlequins. It's not impossible. Maybe hard because it's kicking an addiction but it's possible.Aeldari do not need spiritstones to live. The soul drainage of the Drukhari is due to their activities, not the lack of spiritstones. Corsairs carefree, lifestyles despite wearing spiritstones, have them suffering the same symptoms as the Drukhari in the long run.

I thought Spirit Stones literally just capture the Eldar's soul when they die? Why doe they also need to be near the eye of terror?
>>94771688Also, there is another Mike Brooks novel that says that Drukhari souls shine dimly in the Warp. So dim that psykers can barely register them. Basically, their souls are as large as the T'au souls. They are tiny. I speculate If they stop being pricks, Slaanesh and his daemons might not detect them.
Completely finished my first miniatures. I've painted a lot of necrons so far but haven't finished the bases on them because I'm afraid to commit to something that I won't end up liking. I just went ahead and did astrogranite on these with the intent to repaint the bases later if I end up not liking it. I can't do the fine lines very well, specifically those black recesses on the blades, but I'm just glad they're done. I'm excited to be moving on to the Skorpekh Lord, who is the whole reason I picked up necrons in the first place as he's my favorite model I've seen so far. I've been holding off on painting him since I wasn't confident in any method for painting good necron blades, but now I feel like I got a good way to do it so he's up next.

Just finished off my unit of Zoans! Genuinely loved painting these dudes, looking forward to the next set of them I'll be doing. Had a blast with the green brains, and the head carapace was REALLY friendly to my amateur edge highlight attempts. To Do (T-7 days):-3x Zoanthropes-1x Neurotyrant + Neuroloids-1x Haruspex
Has the afterlife for the faithful to the emperor ever been described?
Why the fuck did they make sentinels 3 units to 2jesus
>>94771889Servitors
>>94771897these new rules are pants on head retarded
>>94771867Tau hooves, in need of edging correction!!!
>>94771889No. Official ecclesiarchy dogma is - upond death the souls of the faithful go to the Emperor's side, at the foot of the Golden Throne to be protected from harm for all eternity.Realistically, random mortal imperials just die and their souls disintegrate into the warp becoming a part of it.
>>94771705good job
>>94771897I don't know why, but I have noticed that in addition to the forced box loadouts mandate, a new mandate seems to be "Every unit will be built with 1-2 kits, maximum." Doesn't matter if it's 3 man, 5 man, 10 man, or squadroned vehicles.
>>94771943hmm I actually didn't think of that one, that actually makes a lot of sense
>>94771867I can't tell if your weathering is supposed to be metal wear, or just dirt and splatter to match your basing. If it's the former, I think you've overdone it a bit. If it's the latter stuff like dust, or runoff from mud splatter, tends to find itself settling in cracks and crevices which means the fact that yours is less prevalent in those areas than it is on open, flat and easily cleaned surfaces feels unnatural.
>>94771943This seems to be the case. And like...good.
>>94771953I read it as the rust-ish color being the base and the blue-ish being verdigris
new>>94771972>>94771972>>94771972
>>94771360There's nothing in dark imperium that doesn't have a refreshed kit. Even all the characters have standalone versions these days
>>94771619>>94771717If they have a discord I'd prolly just drop a message there saying you'd like to get a game in sometime in the next couple weeks and was wondering if anyone wanted to play
>>94771705Looks great anon
>>94771705These fucking suck
Why do people pretend anyone ever used fliers and pretend to be mad that the IG codex is getting rid of them
>>94771881I see you did another stab at the glow, it looks much better than the drybrush you had before
>>94771881These fucking suck
>>94772119Yeah, I was much happier with the swap to just a flat green over the drybrush. Not sure if it entirely comes across as a glow, but honestly it just looks good so I stuck with it!
>>94769251Jiren a shit
