What's your favorite /tg/ related youtuber? Who is your least favorite? Lore vids, how to's, battle reports, whatever.
hard mode no critical role
I can't find any. Every time I look, it's so full of Basedface and all the other dumb current-day youtube shit.

Way back when I actually followed a lot of "Skeptics." You can call it culture-war cringe in hindsight, but most of those people started out earnest and genuine, they mostly dropped out to be replaced with perfectly-evolved grifters.
Anyways, there was a crowd of them that played a meme-filled shitposty Pathfinder game with some Luxemburger named Dr Layman that captured the real spirit of tabletop RPGs. I miss those days of youtube, before it became full of fucking Townies.
>>
I like Tabletop Truth
But I'm a chud, so there's that.
>>
A small one I've fallen into is a chap called basement1908. Nothing special, he's just playing solo games of mainly ACW and medieval fantasy in his, well, basement. Found him looking for a "how to" of Sharpe Practice and being a bit ACW-curious, and just got slowly absorbed. Not flashy, most would probably find it a bit slow and dull (I'll admit I do too, occasionally) but it's 'real' gaming that has inspired me to do some solo play myself to get out of a nogames and nopaint funk.

Mostly Matt Colville and Sly Flourish sometimes. Matts action oriented monster and combat videos have inspired my best combats I've ran, and Mike Shea has a lot of practical advice which I appreciate. I'm not that into lore, builds, or skits so that puts me off from a lot of the ttrpg YT sphere from what I've been exposed to (ginny d, xplvl3). Every now again I get recommeneded some really tiny video with like 39 views and I love watching those but they usually are talking abuot something incredibly pedantic and I dip.

Ginny D's success makes we wonder how easy it would be to make money from nerds by finding some obscure OF or cosplayer and getting her to read scripts with the same D&D advice everyone gives. As long as there aren't stripper chest pieces to make it too obvious, "not fat" + reading nerdshit scripts seems like a winning combo, given the African famine levels of thirst.
>>
Joy of Wargaming
>actually plays games
>talks through what he's doing clearly
>can see and what he's doing
>willing to play obscure games
>also played Necromunda and WFB
>has strong opinions
>>
>>94799344
A small part of Ginny D's appeal is her seemingly genuinely enthusiasm for the hobby (or at least the superficial aspects of it) -- though most of her popularity amounts to "cute girl talking about nerd shit" which is all it takes to attract an army of simps
>>

I genuinely like goobertown hobbies. He's great for putting on while painting. Or even good for falling asleep too and I mean that with upmost respect. Plus his early videos of painting roulette are pretty cool and inspired me to try working through my pile of shame. I think he gets a lot of hate for being pretty straight forward about the fem custodes or some of his openness about fags in the hobby(everyone who plays Warhammer 40k seriously is a fag) being welcomed but really his demeanor is weird to people at first like >>94799759 but can't actually give an example.

>>
>>94798915
Me, Myself, and Die with Trevor Devall is generally decent. He has a great grasp of how TTRPG has worked over the years and tries a variety of mechanics out. I don't always engage with his plotlines, though, so it's more of a background TV kind of watch while I'm busy doing another thing.
>>
>>94798915
Seth Skorkowski when I want to actually learn something.
RPGGamer for reviews of old (late eighties to early naughts) games and modules.
Rules Lawyer when I want to learn about Pathfinder 2e.
Ginny D when I want to look at pretty slop.
JonJonTheWise's videos about Cyberpunk.
A few niche "actual play" channels.

I thought XP To Level 3 was ok a few years ago, even with his occasionally retarded takes. But he got so, so much worse. The last I saw his content he was the perfect example what the current DnD is aimed for.

Same with Arbitor Ian. Good, until he let his personal politics into his vids too much.
>>
>>94801851
Baldy is good. Warrior Tier also has neat Warhammer 40k story content, even if they go a bit too far with their filters and equalizers to hide amateur voice work sometimes.
>>
Play on Tabletop has been my favorite battle report channel. Edited down and not-shit mics. Also unedited content too if the autism desires it.
>>
>>94799344
Honestly, you could probably do alright with a landwhale. Lots of autistic guys are into that.
>>
I usually enjoy Tex Talks Battletech, although the fake commercials and other skits are a bit hit or miss for me.
>>
>>94810096
What really bothers me about him is how he acts (and looks) like such a manchild despite apparently having a wife and kid now? I dunno, maybe he just plays up for the cameras to be funny and relatable to his target audience, but I just feel like he needs to man up. Like, I actually found his youthful exuberance enjoyable in his earlier videos, but he's been doing this so long now and he's changed so little, or even gotten more immature that it's actually starting to get a bit disturbing. It's like those kids from Akira, you know what I mean?

KrakDuk is pretty entertaining for WH40k lore stuff. WesHammer is a fat nerd with a terribly forced smile and that "tiktok delivery" sometimes, but he also has pretty good videos on it too.

How do you know Tabletop Truth doesn't make anything?
If he did he sure wouldn't advertise it under that channel.

Inquisitor Vuln is pretty cool and I enjoyed his solo battle report. It's a like a homebrew kill team. What I appreciate is that the camera wasn't placed 10ft away and he had a cool board set up.
His Primarch series was also engaging, but it really depends on you caring about specific Primarchs.
Eons of Battle has good videos whenever it's based around a painting project. His vlogs and showoff videos don't mean shit to me.
Seth Skorkowsky is the standard against which I measure all other ttrpg youtubers. He makes great in-depth reviews of modules with recommendations on how to improve them, but he always keeps it to the point. And his skits are actually funny despite my hatred of skits thanks to other youtubers.

BrettUltimus. I mean, I don't really like him to be honest, is smarmy and gets overtly defensive if he even thinks someone is criticizing him, but I've enjoyed some of his campaigns. Also thinks he is going to make his own system now that people "are getting sick of DND". Not looking forward to him shilling that in addition to his over-hyped tables.

So... uh, watch the campaigns, avoid everything else to do with him.

Corvinus wargaming is very cool because there are no misleading titles or obnoxious thumbnails. Just a guy sperging out about his passion. It's also a bonus that he is able to read Turkish and Arabic script so he can explain what is going on in some ottoman manuscripts.

Jordan sorcery has a very pleasant voice and he has had good interviews with guys like Juan Diaz and the guy who made the first GW plastics. Good background noise for hobbying.

Here's a thought you fucking loser faggots. Instead of living vicariously through a bunch of Internet fake people, why not play the games yourself? Dimension 20 has some great sets for games where those matter like the first magic highschool one. They all have clear interactible elements and some switch around. There was a fight during a pool party with a two story house, every room lighted with the proper light sources, that they opened up for a fight on multiple fronts.

They also made a stupid art deco city with rails going all around it to deliver little steel balls for inspiration points or something.
