Marinepiggies have low standards
>>
>GW: Here are EC models, buy them
>EC fans: Wow these are just what I wanted, I'll buy them
>Some random fuckhead who wouldn't have bought the models no matter how they looked because he hates marines (valid, mind you): Isn't there someone you forgot to ask!?
I don't get this kind of behavior. I don't like marineshit either — which is why I don't weigh in on them, because I won't be buying them either way.
>>
Their armour is difficult to make and they've been on the move for 10000 years, they don't really have the time to differentiate themselves like that
>>
>>94846451
40k is Marines. Marine legions used to look relatively similar to each other compared to the diverse people of AoS which can have an infinite amount of different craftsmen for their armor. 40k were standardized soldiers.
Therefore, you will se the usual 3-4 Mk of power armor with the different chaos trapping. Something different would make no sense.

tl:dr - you are monumental, colossal faggot, OP
>>
Stagnation?
In *my* Warhammer 40,000?
>>
>>94846593
Cool that nobody across the whole galaxy + Warp found a way to design new armor in 10 milenia.
Especially Slaanesh would be short on craftsmen and artists and would have to let his chosen legion survive in modest scraps instead of anything excesive
>>
Marines are the moneymaker, anon. Not to be fucked with no matter how objectively shitty some of the design choices are.
>>
>>94846451

Time in the warp works differently

>Cool that nobody across the whole galaxy + Warp found a way to design new armor in 10 milenia.
Do you even 40k, you utter retard?
>>
>>94846451
The new Slaanesh Marines look like my kitbash Legionaries which works out for me because I'm already an Emperor's Children player
>>
>>94847090
Yeh, Slaanesh is heaviy related to Eldar, which his soldiers would have fought and looted, yet they don't use their technology despite being largly cut off from native Imperium's supplies
>>
>>94847137
Fabius Bile is as far as I'm aware the only space marine who has really figured out how how to work with wraithbone, and even then he's mostly doing brain fuckery and reinforcing his armor with it. Looting Eldar for your typical EC warband involves stealing their weapons and maybe giving your favorite mortal slave a helmet for fun.
>>
>>94847137
You know eldar guns dont have triggers right?
>>
>>94847236
They have both psychic and mechanical triggers
>>
>>94847236
Someone forgot to tell that to model designers because they keep thier fingers on the nonexistant triggers
>>
>>94846451
for the most part nobody in 40k has done anything new in 10,000 years. there's some exceptions like the tau, but one of the driving themes in the setting is that the golden age has passed, never to be seen again, and most of the factions are just subsisting on the scraps. the imperium gets by on a lot of tech they don't even know how to make or repair. once something breaks it's gone forever. everybody's just carrying on old pointless traditions until the guttering flame of civilization finally, inevitably goes out.

moreover, the core of CSM isn't even carrying on traditions, it's literally some of the same marines that were traitors in the heresy, kept alive by unholy pacts and warp time. why would they randomly develop a new culture? even if the entire setting wasn't stagnation and rot all the way down, the faction with immortal ancients for leaders would tend to be.
>>
>>94846683
they can barely even keep their armor maintained, no shit they aren't really cranking out new models

yes literally the whole point of 40k is that it's a stagnant dying universe, and the Imperium and Chaos have been fighting the same war for ten millennium.

AoS is a much more dynamic universe where things change and stuff happens.

Neither is inherently better than the other, they're different things
>>
>>94846669
Space Marines got extra organs and hovertanks, Anon.
>>
>>94846451
Keep that additude up buster and Death Guard will get another character mini.

The EC box is about 850 points worth of models so you pay 219 dollars and have half an army right out the gate. Pretty snazzy.
>>
>>94849874
And there's not much overlap with the Combat Patrol, so that's two great value boxes that pair together super well.
>>
>>94849923
>1 lord exultant
>10 tormentors
>6 flawless blades
Would be better if it was a kakaphonist, but I guess that's the fastest way to get to 1400 points and grab some flawless blades.

But NMs should have had a second datasheet to allow you to put doom sirens and blastmasters, like exalted noise marines. And some phoenix terminators, or a lord on a seeker. Oh well.

>less than half an army for over $200
Just when I thought that you paypigs couldn't debase yourselves anymore, one of you ends up saying some stupid shit like this. You people deserve it at this point.
>>
>>94846451
>biggest part of the theme is that for 10k years technology has been stagnant for the empire and thus the parts of it that turn to chaos
>the warp is weird so chaos marines can jump through time or something
maybe one day Iron Warriors and Dark mechanicum will get some love since they would be cool with creating new tech, but until that day CHAOS will be to retarded to make anything new
>>
>>94849954
Considering the boxes are usually less than 1/4 of an army I’m not sure why you’re big mad about the box having some amount of (relative) value
>>
>>94849874
for over $200 it should be a clean 1k
>>
>>94846554
Dont most major chaos legions have their own planets/places in the warp to chill on, the EC always get stereotyped as doing nothing but snorting space coke and having space chaos orgies on their pleasure planets, surely someone found the time to maintain their gear

Forge World managed to improve upon perfection once, long ago.
>>
>>94850682
its usually the dark admech that maintain the gear of the chaos legions, and they certainly charge far more for said benefits, and even then they are far more limited despite having daemonic help, in other words the best case scenario is usually maintainng what you have have along with raiding fellow chaos factions or imperial outposts
>>
>>94846554
Why do you people always do this? Come up with bullshit justifications that 100% never crossed the designers mind.
>>
>>94846451
>>40k Chaos is just palet swaps after 10000 years
For them it wasn't that long, if that weren't the case they would have died of old age.
>>
>>94846451
I really like fantasy chaos, chaos warriors being the elite army of musclemen roided up by the dark forces who commit war crimes in order to impress their fickle gods.
CSM being just marines BUT EVIL with spiky bits and skulls strapped on is just so uninspiring to me.

At least they did a decent stylization with death guard and world eaters I guess.
>>
>>94849816
Yeah, and everyone complained about it for not fitting in.
>>
>>94846451
OP, actually look at your own picture. Marines look much aesthetically better, much more elegant, neat and not overdesigned than some generic characterless mash of pixels from the top row.

This picture is a test of your taste.

What makes the cult legions interesting, is that they are space marines with a divergent aesthetic. It's fun to think "how would I depict marines, but they are drug addict freaks" or whatever
>>
>>94852001
>ALL Emperor's Children wear Mk6
>ALL Thousand Sons wear Mk4
>ALL Death Guard wear Mk2/3 hybrid
This shit really rubs me the wrong way
>>
>>94852047
I’m sure an ec marine would love to rub you the wrong way
>>
>>94852047
>All guard is cadian
>All genestealers are miners

Miniatures are always an abstract picture of the "reality" in the 40k universe. They show you one possible look of those forces, and it's up to you to adjust this to your own /yourdudes/.
>>
>>94852084
Okay, but then GW sculpt regular CSMs and World Eaters with a variety of armour patterns.
>and it's up to you to adjust this to your own /yourdudes/.
Should I be sculpting my own minis then?
