Powers should come at a cost.If you can control fire you should be able to burn the centre of your hand very easy by over exerting your fictional fire power muscles.
>>94847058This is sort of relevant, but, whenever I have fire kinesis in my dreams I always envision it as some sort of small hole in my palm. If I push fire too hard it hurts.

>>94846938I need to change my image build a little when I get home. Am I weird for kind of disliking that even your weak minions are biologically immortal? When thinking about cyoas like this or really just in general, I always consider the extremely long picture, and having normal citizens be immortal sounds like the straight path to boredom and societal decadence unless you have some way to keep people focused like interdimensional conquest, which only serves to keep the warriors occupied as long as you do it. Maybe i'm weird, but I feel like normal humanoids like humans, orcs, elves etc would inevitably become dissatisfied and either choose to die eventually, which isn't bad, or rage against the machines and norms of the society which is bad. Additionally, resource management and potential overpopulation are big concerns for me as well with living minions.Meanwhile, things like undead, which are inherently bound by unfailing obedience and are likely more able to focus their existence, i.e. a wight forgemaster is more likely to accept eternity as nothing more than a forgemaster due to the mental and physical quirks of undeath. Things like demons are similar in my mind, inherently immortal but psycho/physio quirks make them predisposed to weathering untold time alive. Maybe I overthink it too much, but this is the type of stuff I worry about when making builds for this. For example, if I have a waifu, whose more likely to continue to be devoted for the untold millenia we weather as immortal overlords, the normal if extremely attractive living monstergirl, or the relatively normal undead lich wife? I suppose being able to custom make stuff mitigates the latter issue, but I still can't shake it. Cyoas like ultimate god also do this much worse to me, I don't want to beings I care about to leave, but equally I don't want them to suffer all eternity just for me, I want them to want to stay by my side through infinity.
>>94847225MiCha mentioned that your minions aren't truly immortal, just sustained by your Overlordship.
>>94847225Dark Softie...
>>94847243Which means as long as you're alive they are immortal. So it's 'temporary' immortality in a loose sense. If you die they lose it, but are you really going to die?
>>94847248For the love of Tok you can't assume every wimpy post is THE SAME GUY over and over again. Cease your obsession.

>>94847286Make me.
>>94847274I was with him until the decadence into waifufaggotry at the end.The first part still has merits though.
>>94847252That is true, yeah. I assume that if you die and take twenty years to respawn, your goblin fodder are probably all corpses.
>>94847288His feeling lol.
>>94847263I can recognize this loser anywhee
>>94847263It is though. Little bro doesn't even deny it.
>>94847288Call it intuition, without something like the entropists novelty normal people will inherently lose interest as sensations dull and you can no longer enjoy the same sensations and activity, it happens all the time in real life now imagine you have eons to do this. Eventually even the most devout peasant would become tired and jaded of the same routine every day, to say nothing of the self improvement you could do in that time.
>>94847288Human psychology.
>>94847327Technically you'd still be their overlord whrn temporarily dead. I assume they only lose it if you truly die for real.

>>94847225Consider water: it does not try to remain in one place forever. It flows, changing shape, nourishing, and eventually evaporating, only to return again. Life follows this same pattern. It is because things pass that they are precious. Would a sunset move you if it lasted forever? Would love feel the same if it had no possibility of loss? The very things that make existence meaningful—purpose, devotion, beauty—depend on contrast. The longer something resists this truth, the more brittle it becomes.Likewise, in relationships, devotion that lasts forever by force or fear of loss is not devotion at all. The most profound love is not one that clings desperately to eternity but one that embraces each moment fully, knowing it will pass. If a companion chooses to stay by your side because they can leave, that choice is infinitely more meaningful than an unbreakable bond of undeath or duty. To accept death is not to embrace suffering—it is to embrace life in its purest form. Instead of fearing loss, cherish what is here, knowing that it was never meant to be held forever. And in doing so, you may find that letting go brings not despair, but a deeper, freer form of existence.
>>94847417You're not breaking the bulwark of his denial.
>>94847417Nice answer - Taoism, right? - but Softie isn't for that yet, emotionally speaking.Perhaps it'll convince someone else to stop running from death, though.
>>94847417I fundamentally disagree with this. Things are not precious because they pass, they are precious because they are inherently precious to us. Time spent is never devalued as long as you still value it, and losing it only serves to drive you to cling harder. Death in the literal sense is not existence at all, it is the end, nothing more can be done. Whether you accept that something ends is irrelevant, the ending of something, especially a life, is inherently bad. As you said, the things that make existence meaningful being purpose, devotion, beauty do not depend on contrast, contrast is simply the inherent binding of reality. Is a sunset less beautiful because it is temporary? To me, no. Nor is love more meaningful because it can be lost. Nay, love and devotion are only meaningful while they still occur. The fear of loss is simply a consequence of knowing that time will steal the happiness from you. A companion that cannot lose their devotion is infinitely more meaningful to me than one that can. They will be there for tou no matter what you do or what happens, that in itself is the truest form of love - of devotion. So I understand your view, I accept you can feel that way. But I do not. To lose something is to despair, to let go is only to accept that you cannot regain that. I say no, rage against the world that forces this upon you, you only accept that things will end because existence has forced this state of impermanence upon you. Deny it, decry it, defeat it or meet your end trying, but do not let your displeasure fade, that's exactly what it wants.
>>94847611I still disagree, but I can see how much you value devotion and stability. I think our difference is that I see love as something that can transcend time and death, while you see it as something that must persist in the present to remain meaningful. I respect that perspective, even though I believe it may lead to unnecessary suffering. My hope is that, in time, you find a way to cherish what you have without that fear consuming you.
Anyone have a good ryoa? I liked Destined for Greatness but cant really find anything similar.
>>94847611>existence has forced this state of impermanence upon you. Deny it, decry it, defeat it or meet your end trying, but do not let your displeasure fade, that's exactly what it wants.spoken like a Blood Mage
>>94847680I think you did a good job of nerfing it on the surface level, but I can only say for certain when I see the rest of the stuff. For example, unravel just by itself was a batshit insane unsalvagable power.
Author for ultimate grimoire here. I was re-balancing chaos magic and wanted to get some feedback first before I solidify it. I wanted to keep the reality warping but tried to make the limitations and risks higher. The two changed level descriptions are in the pic included, but here's the summary:warps are limited by three strict attributes, meaning you can only use one or two before the warp becomes too expensive to cast.wild magic can now affect warps, making them increasingly unstable to use.venting is gone, you must wait for unstable energy to slowly dissipate.overloading on unstable energy at master level damages your soul, requiring extensive measures to revive. If all goes well, I might be finished with 1.1 by tonight, but it remains to be seen.

>>94847780Its still ridiculously op. "Destroys the concept of connections in a localized area" just fucking obliterates EVERYTHING instantly in that area no matter what it is as all constituent parts unravel and reality itself disintigrates on a metaphysical level. I genuinely don't think this power is able to not be op even if its random and localized. You're essentially picking a target and telling them not to pray to their gods for mercy, because even god isn't escaping your wrath as the fundamental concepts of reality disintigrate in that area.

Especially with the new version coming out, I like Kthibhe and Mati, which are dark and light respectively, and I've been torn between life/creation and death/darkness. I admit death and darkness are much more appealing aesthetically, but I think I agree with the life/heart or light/creation would be more fulfilling to me maybe. As death I also have a hard time justifying taking someone like dethes since they aren't really some sort of death or void thing and don't fit with that aesthetic. I really am torn hard on this discussion.
