Where do I find people to play Cyberpunk Red or the other spinoffs from this franchise? I played the game and was interested so I bought the book for red only to find I don’t know anyone that plays it nor does anyone in my city.Do people actually play the Cyberpunk ttrpg’s? Where do I go to find these people?
>>94923626I bought all the RED books over a year and learned the system to play with my group in meatspace and they all bailed after one of em moved out of town. So I just started collecting all the 2020 books too, now it's just a force of habit. I haven't played around with the systems in over a year.Playing with strangers is hard for me, I sperg too much. I miss my old group, man.
>>94923626>ttrpgs>spinoffs
>>94923626.....last year I played a campaign of 2020 Cyberpunk, custom-made to one of the player's requests. It lasted 6 sessions. You need to find good people to play non-D&D games in general.
>>94924175Damn. That kinda sucks. My friends either don’t like ttrpgs or are hardline D&D fags and that’s it. I know one guy into warhammer but I can’t get into that honestly
>>94923626Cyberpunk and shadowrun games I've signed up for had highest failure rate of all my tabletop gaming, none made it past session 1, no idea why.
>>94924420The genre lends itself too well to disasterous 1 shots, going back to Neuromancer.
>>94923626I've played both Cyberpunk (2013 edition) and Shadowrun 1st Ed. Yeah I'm old. I was blessed with a solid group that included 2 authors / game designers for Shadowrun. The gaming scene has changed radically since I played reguarly. Best to find players for any game has always been your local brick and mortar gaming store.
>>94923626did you buy the book in a shop? check with them about putting a note up about looking for playerscheck forums for people in your city/arealook into hiring a room at a library or community centre and ask if they can put something on their community noticeboard
just play Cities Without Numbers, Sprawlrunners, or Interface Zero. CPR has some neat ideas but it falls apart at the combat. I understand why they made it easier then 2020 but they went too far, too boring, too exploitable. you can play 2020 but netrunning in that game's not beginner friendly.
>>94923626I play online.
>>94923626We're living in a cyberpunk dystopia now, so nobody wants to play a game set in one.The only difference is our dystopia is dreadfully boring.
>>94923626You missed /cpg/ by about a week. The new Night City 2045 book should be coming out soon ™ but between big book releases or exceptionally good dlc (free rule expansions for some cool concepts like bases, pets, more guns and gear, etc) there isn't much to discuss. I'll try to make a new general when I get home (have to add the new dl link to the OP). But interest in the entire genre really popped off 2 years ago thanks to the Cyberpunk anime so maybe a new season 2 will bring it back. You also might have more luck with digital games.
