How did you add or would you add inflation to your game?

I sometimes have those rpg horror stories slop videos running in the background and in a lot of them the issue isn't ttrpogs as someone thinking they have free reign for their perversions on someone else's time.

Started my first (semi) serious lewd RPG two days ago. Progress so far:

Good, this general still exists, perhaps I can get some advice and suggestions when creating a new system or a way to adapt an existing system with my own ideas.

I'm looking to create a literal sex game where you have to choose the correct actions in relation to each character's personality to satisfy them.


Gameplay Mechanics:

Choose a character and select a starting thrust style
Last as long as possible with the chosen style
Earn points based on duration and character compatibility
Incorporate additional elements like kissing, fondling, dirty talk
Switch to a new thrust style when points drop below threshold
Repeat until reaching target score or running out of stamina
Bonus points for combining multiple techniques simultaneously
Penalty points for using wrong style or losing arousal
Game ends when all characters are satisfied or player gives up

Example: With Bookworm, start with gentle rhythm (10 pts/minute), mix in compliments (5 pts each), maintain eye contact (3 pts/minute). At 60 pts, switch to slow burn (15 pts/minute) and dirty talking (7 pts/minute). If arousal dips, return to basics. Keep score and track progress across all characters.

The goal is to discover each girl's ultimate pleasure combo. Higher scores unlock special rewards and endings. Can you satisfy them all?

So the duration/minutes mechanic would be rounds. With the implication there's a limited amount of rounds/minutes which makes it more challenging but removes the sandbox element of trial and error since you have to restart all over again.

Right now the skills/actions are shallowly frontend as in they aren't actually made out of smaller actions. This makes it less game-like and more flavor text "I cast magic missile with a level buff, add bullshit flavor text for each level" which creates easier mechanics where you can just make shit up and it doesn't contradict.

The advantage? all personalities are based on well-known existing archetypes. The disadvantage? I need to actually learn the archetypes and try not to contradict what each personality likes/dislikes based on faulty archetype logic at best.

Any fate gamers in chat? It seems cool, but I'm not sure how well it works for solo play. I was doing GURPS, but it's so easy to just get bogged down with simulationist autism (I am very prone to that), so I was looking at fate to try out.

The fact physical stress isn't really treated as a completely separate mechanic is really cool and make my pp hard. Also the "when you're defeated, the opponent literally decides what happens to your character" is just asking for it.

Each one plays differently. Take note that Lewd Attack is one of the common alternatives to Labyrinthus. Its degradation mechanic is that when characters mind break, they get generally hornier, or gain new fetishes, or their existing fetishes increase. In a game where arousal gain causes it to become easier to mind break, and penalizes your non-sexual actions when it accumulates too much. There's also actual demonic corruption that can happen sometimes, where it instills dark changes in a character.

Personalities and social relationships, I may be able to chime in a little. So maybe this is just steps

Typically the most useful thing I'm rolling, is just initial reactions, and is the simplest system, just 1d10 with modifiers. Every new character you meet, vibe check.

I roll a 1d10 for first impressions with a new NPC to initialize their predisposition to a character; 1 being hostile, 10 being infatuated. This of course is a slide scale with floors or ceilings, like if you have an enemy or active combat situation, just divide by 2. If you're very charismatic, add the personality modifier, +1 or +2.

In the moment, I'll boil it down to really just Motivation (define a goal, "Going to bang you" however bang is defined), a Methodology (1d10, what/how extreme of means), and an Indulgence (1d7, sin/fetish). That's 2 rolls, no tables, random encounter, in the moment.

There are other useful and more convoluted steps that can be taken.

Just on the combat angle, "loser gets fucked" is about as traditional as concepts get, but moving out of fantasy usually involves a shift to ranged combat, which adds some oddness to the base concept, but also that I think we have an easier time just accepting the debilitating but non-life-threatening wounds are the norm for swords and clubs than we do for gunshot wounds. There's a Kill Team conversion floating around here somewhere that works around that by placing a ranged victim force against a melee-focused aggressor team, but that highlights another challenge of ranged combat, in that it pressures the system into wargaming territory by needing to track distances, cover, and multiple playing pieces so that they can support each other. Without those, it becomes a game of "You have X turns to land Y hits before they're on top of you, roll for mindbreak". Melee works in an abstract moshpit in a way that gunplay just doesn't. You could work around this by going John Carter of Mars with it, but is that "true" sci-fi, or fantasy with a paint job? Maybe Dune would make a good basis.

Then over on the thematic side of things, it also gets more awkward. Fantasy adventuring involves long stretches of time out in the lawless wilderness, where nobody's coming to help you if you run afoul of one of the many gangs of bandits, cultists and monsters that populate it. Much of the adventure is simply getting there and back, and all the things that can happen along the way. Sci-Fi conventions are much more focused, either dropping onto the target in a no-nonsense kick-the-door raid, or navigating the social web of futuristic and alien societies. The former leaves little room for on-tone victory sex (or failure without a bad end, for that matter), while the latter requires large degrees of creativity to keep things fresh, nevermind how difficult good social mechanics are to pull off.

TL;DR, freeform hornball is easy, but making a proper Lewd System for Sci-Fi requires a significant amount of outside the box thinking that nobody's really been able to crack yet.

It requires a different answer to "how does the sex happen", and there doesn't seem to be an answer that flows as naturally from Sci-Fi to Lewd Sci-Fi as it does for Fantasy to Lewd Fantasy.

For my part, I'm the guy who occasionally mentions a space pirate harem management game. It manages to ape some of the fantasy setup by using a loop of deliberately leaving safety to seek out strange creatures and board their ships, which also helps some of the ranged combat difficulties by forcing everything into close-quarters. But the problem I've run into time and again trying to convert that solid-sounding concept into something playable is crashing into the wall of "this is turning into a wargame". A predominantly ranged combat system just demands an attention to positioning that doesn't really work without laying out terrain or battle mats.

Maybe more of a line than range bands. Gun combat lends itself to party-based games, because the other big part of not getting shot is keeping the other guy from shooting back, which both keeps you in place focusing on shooting, and means that a suppressed target is very hard to hit, so you need somebody else to walk up and force feed him a grenade. Range bands can get a little messy once you don't have one party generally sticking together, but plotting everyone's position on a line isn't much of a step up from that. Don't know if that's the answer I'm looking for with my focus on door-kicking, but it sounds reasonable enough for outdoor combat.

I've run lewd mech games before by adding various tentacle monsters and they can slip inside the cockpits during fights. Really big ones might be holding your mech in a grapple to do this, but smaller ones may only impact the pilot. In either case it means you have to somewhat fight the cockpit tentacles which may inflict heavy penalties on your pilot skills suitable to the system if you divide your attention, eat up whole turns to focus entirely on the tentacles or ignite the tentacles to pilot with only a minor penalty for one turn but you're certainly going to be pinned by the tentacles afterward.
Broadly the monsters aren't able to really damage mechs so fucking pilots into submission is their only win condition while the party attempt to put them all down before things get out of hand. Some may have ranged attacks like sticky slime to pin mechs in place, acid to weaken armor so they can assault pilots easier or just fling smaller monsters at a mech to distract pilots as the big ones close in.
Works in whatever system you like, you're basically just adding a set of debuffs enemies can inflict on the party and lewd consequences for losing.

Whether you go into combat sex or not, I consider the pervasive importance of sex on a mechanical level to be the line between a Lewd Game and "merely" ERP. Sci-Fi in general is great for ERP, and as anon said, BattleTech has some very wacky corners of the Inner Sphere to play with (give Canopus a look). You can sacrifice the mecha to escape.

The biggest trick is figuring out how bad a debuff is a fair tradeoff for each level of resisting tentacles in your cockpit and if you and/or any players want to add the complication of actually trying to fight them off in addition to the mech action. I'd say that despite other issues, Palladium games work the best because you can have so many actions per round you may as well dedicate a few of them to slapping tentacles away. Also you can choose between Rifts and Macross, with Splicers as an option for wearing a living powersuit that possibly does lewd things to power up.
In Rifts I had the following:
Full Antitentacle Measures - you dedicate at least four of your actions this round to fighting the tendrils entering your cockpit; any further actions you have may be used as you see fit but are at -6 to hot with mech weapons or -30% to pilot skill. Combat rolls to fight inside the cockpit are as normal. (I often condense the inside cockpit rolls to a single check)
Divided Attention - you may spend actions as you wish but at -4 or -20% skill, regardless of whether used by the pilot or vehicle.
For the Mission - you ignore the tentacles, allowing them to do as they please while you put maximum focus on one last set of actions for your mech. Piloting is at -2 or -10% due to distractions and being pulled around. After taking your actions you become Pinned by tentacles.

And the tentacles of course have their own turns amidst all of this so you might get grappled down no matter what.

Skip the software. Or at least, skip the software that gives you the false impression that it thinks.

Get yourself some flash cards, or even some online flash cards, and write down a ton of ideas. Or maybe get some tables for random types of places and problems, like on a generator website, and write down on flashcards the types of locales or problems you like. Shuffle your cards and pull them at random, then brainstorm to yourself the potential of it, and write that stuff down. If you find that an idea doesn't especially click, set the card aside and draw a new one. You will eventually see something that really speaks to you.

I kinda prefer a mix of both of those. Recently I've been writing a story where an innocent cyclops girl (cyclops are known to kill and rape people) is traveling to look for an artifact. The world is structured in a heirarchy where "tanks" are the big strong ones in charge and the "supports" are just their weak underlings who help them out, cyclops girl is a support despite her species being a natural upset to this.

Actually pretty neat. They apparently were quite adept in melee if they could actually get stuck in, seems like they just didnt have the ranged weapons to complete with muskets and artillery.

That's not how the specs read on wikipedia anymore. The Spanish losses numbered there don't include native recruits who died, for example. The Spanish forces are also now counted at 60, which doesn't include their native recruits either. Also the word "ronin" has been replaced by "wokou pirates," of which it now reads that it's less than 1000 of them. Which is to say, the information in the previous picrel isn't considered up to date, and potentially misleading.

Cagayan battles are a mess. The Wokou actually repelled them back to their ship initially, but started losing out when the Spanish employed good formations to defend and take advantage of their men using firearms. They ended up sieging the Wokou fort too, outdoing them in artillery.

Long and short of it, they had more effective use of gunpowder weapons. They were using them so much that by the final stages of the battle, they were running out of gunpowder. The Spanish had good use of pikes too, but the Wokou faction was so good at taking their pikes away that the Spanish started oiling their own weapons at one point so they'd be harder to grab.
