>>96452271Doesn't have an inbuilt draw button with the first class up nor an anthem wincon, either.
>>96452396There's no way this is a real card. There's no fucking way.
>>96452405Why?
>>96452405That specific frame, no. But it is an actual card, with their own art
Arena is getting a sliver pet despite there being no slivers in the set. Either it will only show up on a card's art or they are making slivers and symbiotes equivalent creature types to synergize with the Hivepool.
>>96452477if they actually fucking make Spiderman into the Sliver Homeworld set I will laugh
>>96452477They won't make Symbiotes and Slivers equivalent because that's not how they do things with new types. It'd mean Symbiotes were just a functionally different thing in paper versus Arena if they did, they'd invent a new type if they had to (though I'm unsure if Symbiote needs to be given a new in-universe type, it still is a word and not strictly copyrighted, but then again so was Infinity).
Goblin's ShadowEnchantmentUncertain Phantasm - At the beginning of your first main phase, discard a card. If you do, draw a card.Undying Vengeance - Whenever you play a land or cast a spell from outside your hand, this enchantment deals 1 damage to each opponent.
>>96452514Equivalent creature types means the types would be the same type according to the rules. The Transformers cards had convert be equivalent to transform despite being differently named they still interacted with transform effects due to the rules saying they are identical.
>>96452477Let's reuse these forgotten types for the Predator and Avatar Movie tie-ins.
>>96452576Yes, but they wouldn't make a new type for a set and then go back and say "these are Slivers actually". More likely it's just a pet that has nothing to do with the set because the Arena version of the set was created in a few months so they're just re-using an old model and palette swapping it.The current stance on equivalent types for UB stuff is they'd make a new one that is interchangeable, as they've done with Infinity/Terminus for example. So an equivalent to Symbiote (if one is needed) would be a new one (Parasite maybe).
>>96452593>they wouldn't make a new type for a set and then go back and say "these are Slivers actually"They've literally done exact that, for multiple types. Recent big one was phyrexians.
>>96452603you are either stupid and misunderstanding anon's point or are stupid for being disingenuous.
>>96452603That's different, though. That's adding creature types, which is still something they're hesitant to do. Your thing would be changing Symbiotes and Slivers to be equivalent, which they have NEVER done. At most they've flattened types out (a lot of weird old one-offs got homogenised under broader types for example) but that's an older thing, not the current approach.
>>96452603Phyrexians were made a type and then they went back and said all those obviously Phyrexian creatures also had that type, that was all.
My beloved wife.
>wotc/hasbro licenses android to FFG>the game does well>too well>pulls license for seemingly no reason but spiteAndroid UB to rub it in, when?
>>96452633What a shitty card.
>>96452603Not exactly they just added the phyrexian type.Originally a minion. Then they added cleric and human. And finally phyrexian. If it was made today it would just be a phyrexian cleric.
Creature types were a mistake.
I've noticed that Scryfall only has English cards for both Final Fantasy and Edge of Eternities. Are they taking incredibly long to add them, or has Hasbro completely abandoned other languages?
>>96452705They exist, it's just people haven't really provided images and there's some backend stuff with Scryfall because of the update to Gatherer or something?
>>96452705They are taking their time. The take the images from users own cards so non-english cards must be unpopular.
>>96452726Dragonstorm had cards in all languages shortly after release, so they must be having some issues recently. It's a shame because I'm curious to see if the FF cards retain consistency with the games' established localisations into other languages.
>>96452748I think it's basically the Gatherer update fucked up their backend. Apparently Through the Omenpaths is also gonna be an issue because it's not like Universes Within where they retroactively have the UW card as the 'real' one and the others just being skins, because 'both are real'.
>>96452748You'll have to resort to the Gatherer for now.https://gatherer.wizards.com/FIN/fr-fr/321/vivi-ornitier
>>96452766>mfw running 8 copies of Infinity Gauntlet
>>96452785anon just because you press your cards onto the computer screen, doesn't mean they're being absorbed into Arena
>>96452785Well, currently, neither version will ever co-exist in the same space, proxying aside. If they do reprint the Omenpaths versions later on (which they may well do for some), I can see them retroactively pulling the same sort of deal as they did with UW for Secret Lair stuff and just declaring them equivalent (which they are, etc.), the UB version is functionally a 'skin' on the 'real' UW version.
El Señor y El Amo del InfiernoA thing about the Spanish translation of MTG is they usually translate lord as Señor, or Jefe.Overlord is usually translated as Jefe Supremo with the Duskmourn overlords instead being Amo due to how long their names are.
>>96452768Oh, I didn't know Gatherer had cards in other languages. Thanks.
>>96452840I've noticed that Spanish tends to have the best translations on average. They are clearly written by someone with a decent degree of literary experience, so sentences take full advantage of Spanish syntax and expressions instead of awkwardly translating everything word for word. It's also pretty good at localising puns.Other languages are translated too literally and often miss puns altogether.
>>96452902Case in point for a good Spanish translation of a pun, best they can. It doesn't really work because the original pun is rather English-specific, but still.
>>96452918They sometimes don't realize how literal something is. The French translation for Over The Top is Literally Exaggeration. It's mostly Wotc faults since they only give text without context and hire constantly revolving contractors.

They S T I L L have not errata'd this card so it functions."All of the above" does nothing WotC. X is 4 or greater. That means X is not 1, and X is not 2, and X is not 3. That means when you do all of the above, it does fucking nothing Wotc.FIX. THE FUCKING CARD. WOTC.
>>96452986It means "do every above output".
>>96452993No, it means "Do all of the above."The above are checking if X is 1, which it is not. Then checking if X is 2, which it is not. Then checking if X is 3. WHICH IT IS NOT.

>>96452999I don't care that you're upset about the most obviously intuitive rules text. "If A, do B. If C, do D. If E, do F. If G+, do BDF".

If that spell is countered this way, put it on top of its owner’s library instead of into its owner’s graveyard.”) Don’t just apply effects step by step without thinking in these cases—read the whole text and apply the rules of English to the text.

Cool, he's arguing a point that literally nobody cares about for a card that does not matter.Anybody played any games lately?
>>96453087>X is 4, do all of the above. No part of that sentence instructs you to ignore the above if statements. It instructs you to do all of the above. All of the above is a set of three conditionals effects, contingent on the value of X.
>>96453093Those don't apply if X is 4. You just get all of the outputs.
>>96452986"Do all of the above" in this case is shorthand for the rewards of the IFs 1 through 3. If there was enough space, the fourth option would read:"If X is 4 or more, scry 1, then draw a card. You may choose a player. They return a creature they control to its owner's hand. Create a 4/4 blue and red Elemental creature token."hence, "All of the Above"
>>96453098>Those don't apply if X is 4.Where is it expressed that they do not apply?>You just get all of the outputs. The outputs are conditional on the value of X.

>>96453108>The card doesn't tell you to consider the if statements, either. Such subcategorizations demark how regulars respond to overt displays created by the imagineers. Cool imagineers presents themselves in more understated ways, or ways that regulars do not find distracting. Although cool, such imagineers remaintied emotionally to their adopted persona. A square or dorky imagineer, in contrast, creates displays that regulars regard as “over the top” and conspicuous in an amateurish way.>One cool imagineer, “Rogue,” a self-styled “black mage,” wears black nail polish and eyeliner, metal-stubbed leather over garments, and carries or wears a variety of magic amulets to the game. Regulars regard his presence causally and acknowledge his self-stylization; they never used his dress appearance as a source of derision>On the other hand, “Dungan,” a self-identified “warrior dwarf,” exemplifies squareness. He carries a wooden battle axe andoften wears a green tunic to play. When entering the game area he will announce his presence by proclaiming: I am Dungan. I have come to conquer. Who dares challenge me? Patterned responses such as groans also include jibes: Sit down and shut-up, Bashful [a reference to the Disney film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs].Although regulars accept Dungan’s presence they do not acknowledge his authenticity; regulars use Dungan’s imagineering as a source of verbal abuse and “trash talkingBeyond Place On Being a Regular in an Ethereal Culture, Patrick T. >>96455174It's an incredibly simple design, retard-chan. You can turn up your manifested/cloaked permanents for 2UB. Nonpermanent cards obviously cannot be turned up, so you just cast them for free. It's not even a busted card.
>>96455362This is a Standard release.
>>96454868>More Owling Mine supportWotC you are forgive->It's UB slopAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
>>96455312Modern Horizons 3 cancer killed Historic, which was an amazing and diverse format prior to MH3. Now it’s all Eldrazi and Energy slop
>>96455342>Not do thing, draw card or any other source of card advantage>Just play all Spiders and smash with SpidersSo this is a Timmy card.
>>96455342This should be a transform card. The front side should be Peter Parker, Spider-Man and he transforms when something thematic happens. Not quite sure what the trigger should be
>>96455393Fine, I'll clarify what I meant since apparently you think I don't understand what the card does: I know what it means, I just think designing cards that do shit like that is retarded and worthy of getting fired.
>>96455407We both know there is no way Cosmic Spider-Man was designed with Standard in mind.
>>96455456>>96455472I think it has a decent shot. As I've said many times in these threads before, there are two lands with tribal manafixing in standard right now and there's even a 2-mana spider mana dork that can make any color. Even if you just throw out a few 2/2s, dropping this guy in on your first main phase and swinging in with a bunch of creatures with keyword soup (mainly flying, lifelink and haste) is probably gonna get a lot of damage in and gain you a ton of life. While it doesn't instawin you the gain, it definitely has the potential to swing it in your favor, at least more than the Avatar card does.
>>96453817Neat. Thanks.
>>96455472Neither were golos or kernith
The absolute state of Magic: The Gathering where every single card, specially those mean for constructed, are designed with Cummander in mind...
>>96455342>generic keyword soup tribal lord that doesn't even give blockers keywords or statsthis entire set should've been starter packs
>>96454866>since they are straight up just remaking the original meme image anyways.which is... a screenshot from the episode
>>96455342How many Shapeshifters are in Standard right now?
Where Cauldron ban?
>>96455036Makes me realise we still don't have a standalone MJ card outside of the starter decks.
Speaking of MJ, though, here's her and her kid from that alternate universe where One More Day just didn't happen.
>>96455770Haha tall ask booooi! Wait until November with luck and don’t worry for that moment we will already print the next red cancer haha!
>>96455809
>>96455819I think we need more red threats with toughness above their CMC that produce card advantage.
Oh hey Arana I was kinda hoping she'd show.
And Mattie gets a non-legendary rep, weirdly.
>>96455819>>96455835>"Sir we can't think of any ideas for the new red card.">"Just slap impulse draw on it!"
And Kraven's card is, you know, fine. Good art.
>>96455849It's Kraven time.
>>96455842Hopefully Jessica Drew and Julia Carpenter get represented.
>>96455876I feel like Jessica will, and there's a chance Julia will be Madame Web if they don't go for Cassandra as her.
Morbius and Madam Web ARE getting cards, right?
>>96452986rules are written by retarded niggers now, don’t expect them to make sense. Wizards’ method is now print slop and then fix it in oracle.
Why can't all the cards designed for Commander be in the Commander set?
>>96455892Yes, Maro's teaser had a Vampire Scientist Villain which is Morbius almost certainly, and Mutant Adviser which is definitely Madame Web.
As a Brit I feel shame.
I hate this fucking set so much it's fucking unreal. Universes Within is the only silver lining.
>>96455907I can't get over how off looking that flag is
>>96455907no offense but compared to this, there are way worse things bringing shame to Brits right now
>>96455881We already know Cassandra is in the set since nobody else could possibly have the Mutant Advisor typing MaRo teased.
>>96455907>>96455937and those roads, and cars.. dear god
>>96455945That's just how roads look in the UK. The flag is weird though, I dunno what's going on there, it's like we're seeing both sides of it but it LOOKS like one contiguous side.
>>96455943
>>96455907Oh nice India and UK together by the slop lmaoAlso is just me or this looks IA-made?
New tapped dual. New cycle, possibly?
>>96455955I think they intended it to be a very long banner-like flag, but drawing it correctly would mean the union jack wouldn't be centered. So they said fuck it and drew it centered anyway.
>>96455966>Tapped duel>5 mana to surveil holy shit its beyond shit
>>96455907was this shit AI generated? I’m genuinely asking.
>>96455966I know surveil is better than scry but they could've really just finished this cycle
>>96455980No, the UK just looks like that.
>>96455966Seems like a minor upgrade to the campus cycle.
Some Goblin shit.
>>96455998Since when did black get cheap efficient direct damage to creatures?
What does it mean "timing rules still apply"?
>>96456007It means you can only cast it when you could normally cast it.
>>96456001Pretty regularly, though it's usually as part of some lifedrain flavor.
>>96455998can that sorcery be used as rakdos madness pauper sideboard?
>>96456019Or play in the case of the land.
>>96455998>SorcerySorcery>Sorcery>SorcerySorcery>Sorcery>SorcerySorcery>SorcerySeriously what should happen for them to stop with this shit? Are they so fucking clueless about their own game they can't understand this kind of removal is pointless and stupid in an environment with threats like Vivi, FOMO or Hearthfire?
>>96455907At least it isn't the dumb black women they shoved into the comics
>>96456040It's clearly designed to work with the mayhem cards, instant speed doesn't make sense for that.
>>96456026>Pretty regularly, though it's usually as part of some lifedrain flavor.Yeah that's what I mean. It's just not black-coded to do this without gaining life.I guess WotC just doesn't give even the slightest fuck about their own game though. So why should I care?
>>96455907i want USA spider-man now lol obviously must be a fat fuck with half belly out of the spider costume
>>96456040they design for commander and maybe limited. They don't gaf about standard anymore.
>>96456053It's happened before without lifedrain, it's just not usually a thing Black does because it CAN do it with lifedrain, but Red can't.
>>96456065Yeah, yeah, yeah, and green gets "damage can't be prevented" sure sure fuck it whatever who cares. Just delete the color pie at this point, it obviously doesn't matter.
>>96456063
There's the boy.
>>96455955>That's just how roads look in the UKboys really do be playing the aMAZEing labyrinth irl
And a different boy who, you know, sure.
And the classic scene.
>>96456092Kaine?
>>96456074easiest way to tap pic related for cheap? station lands?
Another classic.
god this UB shit is fucking so fucking tiresome
Shout out to the two kids dressed as normal-ass witches among all the superhero costumes I guess.
>>96456168yeah man
And a board wipe.
this whole set is horrible bros...
>>964562141000 dollar collector boxes
>>96456217Whales are killing this game for me
>>96456158What the fuck is this story told in the card? The name is "The Death of Gwen Stacy" and in the first picture she is falling from a bridge, the next she is caught by spiderman and the final has spiderman holding her while she is unconscious
>>96456237She falls off, he throws a web out to catch her and the broken fall snaps her neck, and Spidey shakes his fist and screams for vengeance at Green Goblin while holding her dead body.
standard is saved sisters
>>96456237>while she is unconsciousAnon, I...
>>96455998Wait, that land seems actually playable.
>>96456288>Izzet Cauldron has not placed below 2nd in a single tournament since the bansFormat's fine. Izzet Cauldron sometimes doesn't place 1st.
>>96456288Bro it's flourishing, don't you see that mono red won the event and that there is one (1) Azorius control in the top 16? I don't know about you guys, but I'm about to head to my local store to preorder some Spiderman mtg product so I can get some awesome new cards for my Tapir commander deck!
>>96456178That's one way to punish token decks.
>>96456237If you want to know the actual story, Spiderman tries to save her from the fall. When he catches her, he breaks her back from the whiplash and kills her. It's pretty fucked. Legendary story, back when comics were great.
>>96456256>>96456291>>96456309Guess that makes sense, the card doesn't really give off that vibe based on the panels they chose for it lol
>>96456326>Guess that makes sense, the card doesn't really give off that vibe based on the panels they chose for it lolNot at all no. WotC's dumb as shit, what do you expect?
>>96456309They were technically ambiguous on if she was already dead when she was falling or if Peter killed her for a long time, but nowadays they've come down pretty firmly on "Peter accidentally broke her neck saving her".
>>96456288Whens the ban happening?
>>96453136what if X is 5?You didn’t cover the “or greater” part, bozo. Maybe apply your stick-up-ass particularness to your own stupid ideas
>>96456349Either way, it was a great expansion of the themes of "With great power, great responsibility."Brilliant writing. RIP comics.
>>96456353soon, 3 more years
>>96456353November, if you're lucky
>>96456288Mamma Mia! Seriously you guy enjoy this shit of a format? I rather play against Cutters and Annex than go against red or see this motherfucker all day long…
>>96456288>1 green>1 white>0 black>In the top 20.Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
>>96456353November, then Firebend, Electro, Punk and whatever new shit they print will make you wish Vivi was the issue…
Ah, finally. Yuri in Magic the Gathering.
this is the first good UB card I've seen in monthsI just appreciate good clean design that manages to use the card text itself to tell its flavor (even if admittedly the effects feel like they were arbitrarily chosen to meet syllable count)
>>96456288Unironically the worst Standard has ever been. I honestly thought the Lin Sivvi era could never be topped. Why do I continue to put faith in WotC not fucking up?
>>96456288what compels a company that leave their “pushed format” like this? i mean this is the format after seven bans. SEVEN fucking bans… how can they fuck up something this badly?
>>96456379>Fear Gas
>>96456379BBBBBBBBBBBBBRRRRRRRRRAP
>>96456389Because banning the chase mythic of a recent set would be really bad for $$$
>>96456389Cauldron is 50 dollarsVivi is 50 dollarsFigure it out.
>>96456404ITS STILL A CHASE CARD FOR COOMANDER
>>96456288S E V E N B A N S
standardlmao
>>96456127Honestly, yeah. Stationing and web-slinging synergize rather well, which is weird since FF didn't really synergize with stationing at all even though it came right before it
>>96453489It says exactly why that is right in the text:>"Sit down and shut-up, Bashful"There's no need to tell Dracula to sit down and shut up if that's what he's already doing.
>STANDARD FUCKING SUCKS THE META GAME IS TRASH>no I don't play standard and never have haha why would IMeanwhile actual paper standard players are having a blast with goofy decks while troonmander players get board wiped on hour 3 of their "fun social experience">lol literally everyone is playing izzet cauldron bro copeUnless you actually play standard in paper your argument is invalid
>>96456368My favorite part is every single fucking game, ad nauseam, the announcers (likely forced by contract) praise the mirror match as "skill testing!" and "amazing!"Then someone passes turn, the other guy swings for 62 damage out of nowhere and the game ends instantly without either player having any ability to make any changes to the result. Then the announcers go to the next match and it's...Vivi Cauldron vs. Vivi Cauldron.>"What an incredible mirror match!">"So skill testing! At least we have a good mirror match as the only deck in the format!"Then again the game instantly ends when the first player gets a single turn without the opponent removing everything from their board, instantly wins without recourse and...>"The mirror match is incredible!">"So skill testing!"l m f a o
