>>96468910Both. I don't fantasize for all cyoas I play but the ones that give me enough to work with I fantasize entire plotlines, characters, fights, relationships, deaths and births over the span of 3 generations before I get bored.

Do you guys think it's theoretically possible for 0^0 to trick the three elder gods (or even just one) into getting erased by making a contradiction? Do you think it would actually kill them, or would they just be booted out of the reality and into some null space? Could it even kill them? The fact that it can kill 0^0 kind of makes it a bit scary since she might theoretically be able to reverse it on the elder gods somehow, even though I think the chance is so unlikely it's basically impossible.

I don't think this kind of thing is likely at all, but I wonder if it's even possible for her to pull that off by some fluke. And furthermore, I wonder what would end up happening to the existence of an elder god who made a contradiction.

>>96469794I think we've got a candidate for the One, the Only
>>96469680Can't forget that Demon Cult also completely nullifies the terrified person's natural aura regen, but yeah it would be hard to proc against an opponent of the same level. You'd have to either have some absolutely busted technique combo that'd make anyone sweat facing against you or pair it with an illusion type move to make it easier.Honestly I think Shapeshifter is the least interesting. There's some cool stuff sure but it always seemed the most boring option as even though the versatility of its techniques are great they kind of pale in comparison to every other normal technique that isn't even racially restricted. Even the Animal Blood options are pretty lame.Imo: Undead > Yokai > Human > ShapeshifterHuman's buffs are way more busted in the right circumstances but they aren't as general as the first two. Being able to transfer Aura to others when Recovery is a bitch and a half to deal with even for those with Deep systems is an insane technique to have even if it doesn't directly buff your own strength.
>>96469821>but yeah it would be hard to proc against an opponent of the same levelThat's the problem really, it's not something you can really get any use out of. You could make it way cooler than just a regen boost and it still wouldn't be any good because it only works on people you can crush anyway. Like are you only ever going to be fighting in the middle of a slave pen or something? It's just too situational to count as good.>Honestly I think Shapeshifter is the least interesting.Well I'm not really ranking it based on how interesting they are, just how good they are. Shapeshifter is undeniably a better race than Yokai, which has no redeeming traits.>Human's buffs are way more busted in the right circumstances...Yeah that's why I think humans are way better than Yokai. They're situational, but way less situational than a Yokai's. Fighting a specific race or with allies you need to give Aura to is way, way more frequent than being in a situation where you have someone at your level who is still scared of you for no reason, or where you're talking to a retard who actually falls for a devil deal, or if you're fighting someone/something you actually want to fucking kiss.
>>96469857Aura Draining alone puts Yokai above Shapeshifter even if its not exclusive because almost every build can make use of it. Spirit Blood is also the best blood outside of doing something like double Pain recovery with Undead because of being able to take Armed, Seen, Toughened, or Horned, in any combination you want. They make for some of the best Body users because of their potential physical buffs. Drain Kiss is a total skip almost every time but even Devil Deal has its uses as you aren't trying to use it to trick people into a deal, its to confirm that both parties will uphold it. Very niche but going for a build that wants to get others under their thumb you can make good use of it. I fail to see what Shapeshifter can do better in any of the Cores compared to the other races.
>>96469908>Aura DrainingIs good, I don't contest that. It being the only good one is hte issue.>Spirit BloodI don't value Body much at all. Animal Blood and Undead Blood can get two extra Recoveries or double one.>Very nicheDevil Deal being very niche is the reason for the complaint. In a conversation like this, we are doing a comparison. I'm not asking you to justify why you went Yokai, or describe to me how you can make a Yokai build or utilize their exclusives as best you can. Instead, the goal is just to point out how the Yokai options are worse than the other races' options, being able to do something with the Yokai options is not itself an argument against the point I'm trying to make.

>>96469966Thank you
>>96469974
>>96469977
>>96469908>Drain Kiss is a total skip almost every timeI mean the obvious synergy is for you to take Kissing Charm with Demon Cult to FORCE your enemies to be afraid of you, but I don't see even a stereotypical slutty succubus build being willing to kiss any random animal, rotting corpse, or disgusting thug they end up fighting, especially not on the lips.
>>96469958I do think Demon Cult is a great option though which is why I can't agree it only has one good technique. While it won't work against someone who's at your level or higher as presumably they won't have a reason to be terrified, it doesn't stop it from affecting others around them from being affected. It's most likely due to me valuing Aura Recovery massively over pretty much every single stat as unless you go all in on Devoting, you consume a ton of Aura every move that'll take at minimum minutes to get a single pip of Aura back. Its funny though cause your opinion on Yokai having one good move is exactly how I feel on Shapeshifter. The only good move I see it has is the Mythic Beast transformation as its a way cheaper version of the 24 point Kaiju transformation Master technique that Body has, in that it gives a tremendously powerful transformation to use at will, though of course the potency would match the aura cost. The other animal techniques that are aligned to Shapeshifter seem extremely low tier in comparison to everything else. What is transforming into a bird or a tiger going to get you an advantage for against any other fighter? While they aren't expensive techniques both in AP and aura cost, it's completely underwhelming even if there's a lot of room for creativity that can be done. As a standalone technique they are great, but when every other option exists I don't see why they would be a good option to use.I was telling about the different Yokai builds cause I felt that you didn't see any real value to them in a situation. The options only seem bad because it looks difficult to utilize, but the Yokai race itself is strong. I couldn't ever agree its the worst race when the bonuses it offers are among some of the best even if a couple of the options don't matter much.
>>96470036>it doesn't stop it from affecting others around them from being affectedYes, but in that case since those guys were shitters and not a combat threat (And thus their regen is irrelevant) that's really just doubling your regen at best. I don't see that as being as good as the shapeshifters or undead's great racial due to that.>ut when every other option exists I don't see why they would be a good option to use.Well I wouldn't say they're great, they're not Undead, they just don't suffer the extreme situational nature of Yokai.>but the Yokai race itself is strong. I couldn't ever agree its the worst race when the bonuses it offers are among some of the best even if a couple of the options don't matter much.Only in highly specific circumstances, like when dealing with massive idiots who signed up for deals they then willingly have to break.

>>96470113
>>96470078I don't really see it as situational though. Yokai are prime candidates for Body, Demon Cult pairs amazingly with Flow for devastating AOE attacks that would make anyone around fear you and give the affinity the aura recovery it desperately needs, and Alchemists are naturally scary because of the bullshit techniques they have which would also proc the technique. Even Phase can make you a boogeyman everyone fears. Plus, doubling your aura regen is a massive boost. It might not seem like it cause usually people just grabs Prana Vulture, but as long as you proc the conditions its a completely passive recovery boost that can stack on any others. Even alone its still a great option because of nullifying others even if it isn't going to be reliable unless you can back it up with your techniques, but when you have techniques that can, it gives you the fuel to go on longer than others. In comparison to the other Aura Recovery options it's pretty much the third best as its only competitors are Prana Vulture and Sacred Fountain, which are better but use up a Boon slot, or Nature Acquiescence which is slightly cheaper but needs direct sunlight and G2 Flow. Calling Yokai situational in general is unfair as even ignoring the busted free Aura Draining, Spirit Blood has a multitude of strong combinations together if you choose to do so. I don't recall many builds back when SC was popular making something out of Shapeshifter compared to Yokai because the options it had couldn't be used to the extent that Yokai's freebies and racial restrictions gave, even if Draining Kiss was basically never used and Devil's Contract just barely.

>>96469460Making changes to this btw. Mortal points are becoming more forgiving and legendary beasts are replaced by a choice of beast, institution, or prophecy, similar to how it works for races.Progress is slow because my vacation days have ended and I'm at my job full-time again.
>>96470102If we're talking a self-insert build, I think I'm most likely to end up feuding with Gabriela (daughter of Quetzalcoatl), Crow (child of the Morrigan), and Himiko-Oikami (daughter of Amaterasu). *Gabriela strikes me as young, and I could see us feuding over politics . . . even though we might technically be on the same side. I would likely seem very, very jaded to her, and I could see us potentially coming to blows over what's possible in a situation (and each blaming the other when it all goes to hell). So it wouldn't be so much a true enmity, but rather a persistent inability to come to an agreement, and a mutual desire to do things the "right" way . . .which (unfortunately) undermines how the other is trying to fix the same problem.*Ironically, the roles would likely be reversed between Crow and me. He (?) would probably think I'm woefully naive and a poseur, while I would likely find him needlessly heartless in executing his orders. If we ended up going after the same goal, I could see it getting very ugly, particularly if mortal lives are involved.(I'm not Goth nor Wiccan, but I am interested in some of the same topics. Plus, I'm one of those people who get really into Halloween).*As for Himiko-Oikami, I can easily see a fight over resources and "meddling". I am interested in some of the Asian companions, and she strikes me as the sort who would expect all the Japanese ones to prioritize loyalty to their home country. And if I'm there for "renegades" to run to . . .yeah, I can see a feud escalating there. So I guess Gabriela would be a conflict of styles, Crow a conflict of personalities, and Himiko one of worldviews. As for the other three, I don't really easily see a way for Waya or Herleifr to come into contact with me. No Native American reservations around here, and I don't really have any connection to Africa. Something would have to force us to interact...which doesn't really feed well into a rivalry.
>>96470381And I'm on the fence about Michail. I think it could go either way, and would depend hugely on how things played out in the setting. However, I suppose you could say that about any of the potential rivals.
Ive been thinking about Void Lord of Xen. Other cyoas are better but void lord sticks with me.
>>96470350>Making changes to this btw.Glad to hear you're working on it. I would suggest in each section you have some natural and thematic examples in mind, and be sure that the system allows creating them with a reasonable degree of fidelity. One of the reasons I gave up on working with it was that e.g. it didn't seem like I could actually, under the rules, even make Earth - since ordinary planetary 'overworlds' don't have a border realm and so can't be located in orbit around a star.

I'm not asking if it's likely, but rather if it's even possible as a fluke, and if so what would end up happening to the elder gods? I think the easiest way she could do it, is by simply changing something very quickly before another elder god tries to interact with the same part of a setting. Essentially altering the script at the last moment to get them to contradict the newly written words. So what do you guys think, is this even possible, and if it did happen, would the elder gods get erased, go into stasis, "die", or just get shunted out of their world?

Tsoshu seems to function like East an Southeast Asia in general, the actual Japanese part is Kita (Weeby Beastmen) down to Ryujima with the Vishnians, so the westernmost subcontinent bit. The Citrines have a little bit of Japanese in them and the Yaksha too (though they're extinct,) but aren't as direct analogues. Watermen are SEA/Polynesian fuckers and the Mermaids don't fit a human culture that we know (Though the timeline gives us basically ZERO cultural insight into Mermaids and Nagas beyond the baby eating.) Mamet is like 80% South/Central America and 20% Africa, that much is pretty unambiguous. Poluden pre-Charlotte is mostly India-Persia but a lot less exact an analogue. Phoenixians are Hindu-Buddhist cults, with both Indian and Chinese (eg. Shaolin) elements. Asua and Daeva are self-explanatory. The Mithraic humans and the Asura that rule over them are basically an evil/abusive vision of divine rulership by living Hindu gods. Underwellers aren't a real world analogue, they're just fantasy Dwarves+pals with a guild culture. Morlocks were just generic fantasy bad guys until Charlotte took over and turned them into a less funny mirror of the Exarchate: modern first world humanity, but instead of filtered through a medieval lens they're 100% in a real wagecuck corporate hell. Kristi are Catholics in vague, but functionally are mirror-Northerners. "What if instead of lucking out and being left alone until they develop advanced culture, they get shit on by all their neighbors?" After that they joined the Firstborn Empire as their own semi-independent state long after the Empire was done doing really evil shit, or else (through no fault of their own) got enslaved by Demon Lords. I'll go traveling around the world for a few decades enjoying the sights, then I'll lead an exodus of Vishnians to settle down on a place I like to start my own country, probably in the Underground since I like the exotic premise of it. Mitra would be my mentor, no way I'm passing up the chance to meet someone close to ascension like him. When Vtorusha arrives I'd be torn. On one hand I do support the Elder Gods plans but on the other hand my responsibility over the Vishnians would push me away from the Elves of the Heavenly side. I'll end up siding with Vtorusha, defeat the Heavenly and True Dragon side of the war and work with her to create a golden age of humanity. I'd meet my end in Aat's era when the Majin arrive and Aat tries to fix mine and Vtorusha's mistakes. I'd secretly work with Aat so he could restore Meaning back to the story and die in a warmachina duel against Vtorusha. I'll probably be paradoxically reviled as a traitor that ended the golden age of humanity and a saint amongst Elder God worshippers. Vishnians, pushed Underground after my death and shoehorned as the Heavenly but villanous race of humans who work with Majin and other races to suppress humanity and serve the Elder Gods, would be my legacy like Vtorusha's Muddish and Mitra's Mithraics.

Going after immortal races first, I would hope that the Elder Gods would tip the scales slightly in my favor.I wouldn't place any particular preference on becoming a hero or villain within the story. I'd imagine that your view on that would depend on who you are and how much I've fucked you over/helped you, and how the story develops.I'm not sure how Vtorusha would slot in at this point, but I'd probably oppose her because it'd be more fun to do so. A magitech arms race sounds fun. Whether I die and she wins, or she dies and I win, or we both die and no one wins, or we talk it out, it'd be more interesting than just siding with her. If I live long enough, I will probably also oppose Aat on the basis that we both want power and our goals naturally conflict. Not to mention the creation of demon lords was huge mistake. After that, the timeline has changed too much to really say anything more about it. I guess Savmak would probably oppose me but he's a jobber.>words words wordsEssentially I'd just stir shit up until someone kills me
>>96474298Bold of you to assume I am not monitoring every thread simultaneously. To get baited in all three.
>>96474293I believe in dad. His love for his brother will win the day
You don't need True Love.>B-but AatMaybe try going for someone who's not an undead, yeah? For all we know, he could've taken it and still got rejected.
>>96474336Have you really never met a woman in real life who likes you as a person but doesn't want to fuck you?
>>96474350Don't you have a mother, anon? Or have nerver met a old person? I guaranteed that if they were even more dead than the average boomer they'd have even less sex drive.
>>96474298It's cute how you keep making new threads when we're only on page 6. Keep doing what you're doing, anon
>>96474376Are you afraid of living in a world where the actions of other people are beyond your control, or are you just trying to get free points?
>>96474383The funniest part is how every early thread he makes instantly devolves into a shitposting singularity, until the Tide swoops and saves it. Its like he's determined to prove that OR is what's keeping the general together. Truly our hero.
>>96474397I'm saying that you don't need that to woo a girl if you're a handsome, powerful, interesting dude going in adventurers with said girl.Probably need it to bang your sister and maybe your teacher though.
>>96474468And I'm saying that sometimes things just won't happen with a specific woman even if you're handsome, powerful, and interesting. People are more complicated than that.If you just want to find someone, you don't need true love, but if your story relies on romancing a specific character, the perk should be taken to account for the fact that some things are beyond your control. Otherwise you're just giving yourself free points.
>>96474425This dynamic is honestly incredibly pleasant and should be kept up indefinitely.
>>96474503It won't happen guaranteed even with True Love though
>>96474617True Love arranges the stuff beyond your control to happen so you'll always get a chance. You need still have to build a relationship the old-fashioned way, but that part is within your control naturally.
>This thread: Dead>Other thread: Shitposting and off-topic discussionWe're back to our normal schedule, boys.
>>96474854This is what people want when they complain about OC being discussed.
>>96474854Good. I got tired of having fun.
>>96474854>Anon casts Pedo Bait>It was super effective!
>>96474854>Obvious shitposters gets bannedIt's clear some people just want to use the thread as their personal shitposting general and that's why the idea of a cyoa becoming popular is so repulsive to them.
>>96475058They wont ever be. Dumb people (or non-autists maybe) bounce off mucho texto without flashing lights. Intelligent people (autists) bounce off the gooner bai, inconsistent art styles and low brow tropes specific to cyoa culture. It's a niche left to us perfect midwits (gigaautistic)
>>96475078I am intelligent and I love anime tiddies
>>96475112Same Anon. Same...
>>96474854It's sad beyond belief that there are truly people who have made it their goal in life to prevent CYOAs from being discussed on 4chan.
>>96475078All the good and popular CYOAs have some gooner bait in them thoughever
>>96475139Exactly. That's why they will forever be niche, because dummies are repulsed by text and smart people are conformists I mean cultured people who wouldn't want to engage in something so vulgar
>>96473366The main plotlines seem to be the rise of humanity, the early years of the Dark Elven states, and the looming threat of True Dragons. I'm not especially interested in any of those, so I think I'd go for a Temperantia YMRD approach and just nerd out collecting magic. Maeve seems like the best place to do that, since having a legendary mage be involved in the founding gives YMRD an excuse to lore-dump new ideas to her heart's content.
>>96475240Elven magic of this time is explicitly told to be able to support a multi-continental civilization with bronze age tech and they were never the same once the war with Vtorusha was over.If you save enough of it you'll change the face of the setting way more than about half of the Outsiders already.
>>96473366>be First Outsider>become famous via adventures and other cool shit>start making references to the masses about the Outsider System and it activating every century>make up a vague prophecy about one of the future Outsiders either ending the world or saving it>die>"lmao that guy was pretty cool but he's insane no way that'll happen">Second Outsider pops out and starts doing their own thing>ohshit
My favorite thing about the First Ancestor is that as a Premithraic Poluden human, his rebellion against Vtorusha actually resulted in his race being enslaved and selectively bred like cattle by the Asura for 1000 years.
>>96475357>First Ancestor
>>96475295Isn't that mostly Eldar law-magic, tho? Not that it's weak, but the whole system is tied to the Firstborn Empire, which isn't exactly on good terms with Maeve
>>96475408Didn't think about this issue. On the other hand, if you one manages to understand the principle and tie it to the code of their choice, it gets even better for their particular case.Strokrad did a rudimentary version of this without any education, so should be doable.
>>96475371>Minor spelling mistakeImagine I posted a pick of someone dying dramatically.

>>96477178True
>>96473366I'd probably have just made myself Vtorusha, but one generation earlier.
>>96477178I will rate it.
