first for sigmar the one true god king
Chorf trains>tqIdoneth got both and it was kind of a letdown. In general I prefer generic characters to named ones.>atq...don't lumineth explicitly have a bunch of branching themes? Cow/stone guys, fox/wind guys, tyrion stuff, river stuff,...In general I guess I like a bit of variety with an overarching unifying theme. Gloomspite having moonclan, throggoths, squigs and spiders all unified under being cave weirdos. lets ignore gitmob for now
>>96471501Oh boy, I can't wait to see what 3+ rolls GW will have the Chorfs get!
>>96471569>don't lumineth explicitly have a bunch of branching themes?having a slightly different hat topping hardly makes them differently themed.
>>96471579End of Your TurnRoll a D3. On a 2+, inflict that much mortal damage to this unit. Then add the damage allocated to the control score of this unit until the end of the turn.
>>96471584Big fuckoff walking cow mountain vs flying furry twink seems pretty different to me
>>96471501https://www.darksphere.co.uk/gwrise25.php
>>96471569Considering Cities of Sigmar have trains in Lore and they released no models I doubt we will see Chorf trains as models.
>>96471605They're still wearing the same style of clothing It would be like saying saurus and skinks have different themes
>>96471590You forgot (Army)
>>96471569If you said to me this was a CoS city i'd beleive you
>>96471695Better or worse?
So I'm getting some nurgley stuff, I wanna do a deep sea theme and figured I'd poke around and ask folks what that might entail for some bloated corpses.Anyone got any good reffs or ideas? I wanna build up a little folder for inspiration.
>>96471783It just doesn't look like a ziggurat.
>>96471695>no spires>no towers>no dragons>no domesNow why would you do that
>>96471648I don’t think you know what themes are
>>96471783Worse. The warpstone greenness made it less orderly looking
>>96471501It is pretty funny all the Helsmiths in the beautiful art are all classic Chaos Dwarf coded. No women or black ones there.
why is there so much apathy about this editionpeople dont even hate it, they just dont care
>>96471790isn't there some flooded kingdom thing for undead you could steal ideas from
>>96471790Greenstuff barnacles on things? They seam nurgly
>>96471841It's so inoffensively bad nobody really has the urge to get mad about it
>>96471790If you're after some bits I think you should look into the dredge. It's a range meant for 40k, but once you remove backpacks, guns or the weird space marine boots I think you could end up getting some cool parts out of it.lost kingdom miniatures has sea undead, but less of the fleshy kind, generally. If you're looking for paint tips alone, I can't help, whenever the idea popped up I think people had some very different conclusions, with some thinking the best way is to make extremely pallid corpses with greenish folds, to others saying they should be very blackened or something. The crew of the flying dutchman from pirates of the carribbean is a masterclass, but I think they avoided almost completely the normal traits of something realistically rotten and focused primarily on coral and marine textures, keeping the palette almost monotonous.
>>96471841the army rules and warscrolls really really suck. there is just absolutely nothing to get excited about with the army releases, they're like the perfect storm of boring (most choices stripped out, oversimplified), unfun (most units very bland, subfactions 1 feature and often repeats, most abilities unreliable 3+ and/or once per army), and inflexible (once per army a soft ban on repeat units, restrictive regiment building and increased points makes lists feel unforgiving and claustrophobic, most ally and coalition rules removed)they literally took everything fun about the game and removed it, dumbed it down, or made it very unreliable. combined with tons of copy and paste bad rules, lack of choices, and poor internal balance, the armies just arent fun to build or play.literally the only thing carrying age of sigmar right now is the fact that they keep putting out great models, but even amazing sculpts like the new gitmob are being sabotaged by the dogshit rules writing. the core rules and seasonal rules are fine, the core rules may even be some of the best the game has ever had, but the army rules are so fucking bland and unimaginative, with anything resembling player agency removed, thats its a big "why even bother" vibe
>>96471841There's only so many times I can say "I wish I had more options" and "Wow they sure overuse D3 and 3+ rolls".
>>96471903>poor internal balanceThis is what gets me. What is the point of simplifying everything and dumbing down everything if you are still gonna have wildly overpowered and underpowered armies? If things aren't gonna be balanced either way give us fun/flavorful rules at least.
>>96471790When I was looking for converted blightkings, I found this guy who said he was using plague marines as a base for nautical themed Nurgle
>>96471876I remember ages back I was doing a blood bowl team themed around that and my friend gave me some little beads to green stuff around for that effect... Maybe it's time...>>96471899This shit is gold, and yeah it's a very varied theme. I was thinking maybe some more deep blue bloated bodies with purple or green glowy guts. (maybe toss some seaweed in with the guts) But palid with more green, divers helmets and tentacles though would be fucking perfect. I'm caught between a more naturalistic colorful "We dragged ourselves from the ocean and look like the ocean equivilant of a chicago dog" vs "industrial rusted haunted oil rig">>96471968Right as I'm about to hit send, holy shit that's good too....
>>96471946>wildly overpowered and underpowered armiesthats external balanceinternal balance is about choices within the same army
>>96471940I'm so fucking sick of d3 damage on a 2+, that and anything that's like "REDUCE CONTROL SCORE BY 2 IF YOU'RE X" Control score is fucking meaningless unless you can reduce it to 0, 90% of the units have 1 control score as is so it's pointless unless they update that fucking rule. Also the few nerfs of shit and turning just standard abilities into "Spend a CP, then roll a d6 on a 3+ the ability goes off"
>>96472008Control score is a sum of stuff in the unit, not the number on the warscrol.
>>96471992They both suck. Internal and external. Blades of Khorne being 70% was lmao tier.
>>96472020Wait, so if one guy is touching the point and he's in a unit of 20 with 1 control score each, so long as one guy touches it they're at 20 control?Or is it, one guy touches the point in a unit of 20, he is worth one.
>The root of this perversion is the god Hashut, who revealed himself to beleaguered duardin during the Age of Chaos, claiming to be a long-forgotten ancestor god and offering salvation of a kind. >The Zharrdron now believe Hashut to have been the oldest and proudest of the ancestor gods. So it's entirely possible that the whole backstory we were given yesterday is bullshit (no pun intended) from an unreliable narrator. I think that's better than "all your theories from Fantasy are wrong goodbye".
>>96472087they hinted at that in the other article too>You consult the Final Slates of Morgrabal, fire-binder of the Forge Anathema. Before the stone-flesh claims me entirely, I etch here what I have learned in sacred Zharralid script. Let us speak now of our god, the Father of Darkness. Fools will tell you that he is a daemon or some other primordial being born in fires older than the realms. We know him for what he is: Hashut, the one true ancestor god.
basic test for the scheme ima do
>>96471501>Alt TQBranching themes are better than a complete one note, but only when branching out doesn't mean one unit with little to no synergy whatsoever (e.g. firebelly)
>>96472087My interpretation was that everything in the previous article still happened (obviously not exactly as written since unreliable narrator etc) up until the point where hashut gets btfo by valaya. Then sometime later hashut reappears during the age of chaos, but they're keeping the door open for this not actually being hashut. There's a couple of ways you could interpret things I think. Glad they're keeping it a bit more ambiguous.
>>96472120Is it easy to paint flames
>>96472140I think its one of those things with a low skill floor (contrast) but harder to do really well then most things
Since the only way to play a Beastmen army in AoS these days is to play Disciples of Tzeentch, I'm thinking of making a Beastmen of Tzeentch:x1 Ogroid Thaumaturge (Hero)-x3 Tzaangor Skyfires-x3 Tzaangor Enlightened-x20 Tzaangors-x20 TzaangorsTotal Cost= 1000 Points
I don't mind Krethusa. After reading the truly terrible Dawnbringers shite, she's definitely one of only like three characters introduced with any sort of potential. Admittedly, I don't like the idea of "good guy" Khainites that are only trying to help etc but we'll have to see where her plot goes... assuming it goes anywhere, and this isn't a Ynnari/Yvraine thing were the most interesting plot in the whole setting is forgotten and goes no where.
>>96472239I like her feet
everytime i see an AoS game it looks like a totally flat map with basically zero terrain where you deploy in a straight line and just charge into each other like retards. is that pretty close?
>>96472239>"good guy" Khainites that are only trying to helpOh... that's not promising. Definitely feels like DnD sloppa
>not even trying with bait
>>96472290YesNext question
>>96472302This is what a real gaming map should look like! Come on man, don't you have an elaborately based and fully modelled thing to play on?!
>>96472302i assume you're talking about me >>96472290which is fair to assume, especially with the recent flood of "t-sports" trolling on the board. but i assure you i am asking in good faith. i haven't played AoS yet but i watch batreps while i paint and it always looks something like this
>>96472341If you're playing with the actual GHB layouts and standard rules ye, it's primarily just a few random bits and bobs of terrain and little bits with several circles you stand on.If you're playing for funsies or for narrative I imagine you can be more creative and have more fun than the standard GW stuff.
I think the new art fixes the slightly off looking color scheme they initially showed off. The lime green warpstone color they have on the weapons clashes with the rest of the color scheme but this much more ghostly bluer green looks way better
Truth or fabrication, it's a little amusing to imagine a bunch of duardin hearing a whisper in their head saying "I'm your daddy" as Hashut explains his backstory.
>>96472378I didn't notice before that they were fighting sylvaneth.
>>96472378that looks like a bad photoshopit should be red

>>96472378'Eavy metal does good when they do good, but I've come to terms with the fact that they can fuck up paint jobs just like anyone else. For instance, anything with tits.
>>96472413I mean feel free to play however you want, unless you're going to a tournament you can just use the GHB as more of a guidelines.I'm still learning and playing local so all my games have been with the GHB but once I get a grasp on what the fuck I'm doing I'd love to just do some massive fuckoff games, or more goofy objectives/options.
>>96472415That's not the painter's fault
>>96472378I agree, I like the weird cyan(?) glow they have on this art. Certainly an upgrade.
>>96472437You're not gonna convince me on this anon, I've seen people bust their ass off to make models good. 'Eavy Metal just has no clue how to paint women (admitedly this warband was shitty regardless, so I dunno just pretend I posted Malenith or something)
>>96472378The design of the dominator pisses me off so hard and this is coming from a huge daemon engine fanIt's like they sabotaged it to make it deliberately not cool

>>96472378That’s because the blue works better with the purple of their fabric. Also looks less skaven-like.

>>96472466sometimes we play with more, but the FLGS hadnt painted it at the time, although this was a couple years ago now i think so maybe they've painted it since then
>>96472477while thats defitely true, i dont see a lot of sculptural detail on those khorne guys to convince me that there's much to work with either.kinda looks like a fail on the part of both the paint job and the sculpts. if you have a better painted version that says otherwise feel free to post it

>>96472415These models are just shit No saving them
>>96472485You got some closeups of your gitz anon? Loving the scheme and need some inspiration.
>>96472655not really, its mostly just the studio scheme with different colored hoods to tell the squads apart. i do have this wip shot of skragrott, but i havent dug my gits out of storage since like early 3e for a proper pic
>>96472499I remember an anon posting this when they got announced, the idea that they were half skinned with raw muscle showing. Alas not painted though
Yet another TGA leak btw, Whitefang posting "Time to Reject Modernity" to someone mourning the apparent loss of Ogor Blackpowder. More evidence for the cave man direction.
>>96472688>>96472655and this one of the mangler and dankhold

>>96472694>check post on tga>15 heart reacts and 1 sad face reactWhy do people celebrate having less shit??? Is it all BCR fags who are happy about it?
>>96472706Not necessarily! We still got blackpowder as modern proof ogres know how to use guns. I'd be so sad if they lost the scrapshot canon.
>>96472706Yeah I agree, I do like the Beastclaw Aesthetic overall but guns were a nice gimmick they had over the rest of Destruction. RIP
>>96472719You got people over there giving Unironic praise to the Bloodpelt Hunter for being a 1000% improvement on Ogor designs because pinhead is a better look apparently. TGA is a strange place.
>>96472719No people are happy because they think it means Ogres for TOW
Is there any way to make Mortek Guard with spears not look like playmobil toys? Something about them in the pics I've seen that looks so goofy. Might have to build mine with swords even though I kinda wanted like an elite phalanx look to my army.
>>96472740I don't mind full unga bunga, but Ogors having random scrappy heavy built weapons was such a cool part of them. The beartrap crossbow/fist, giant hand cannons, catapults and cannons that work as a makeshift blunderbuss. The only way I'd accept more caveman shit is if they went harder on ice theming, inuit styled bulked up fur with massive harpoons and fur lined gear under bulky plates. (Even then I don't wanna lose shit like maneaters or gunlines)
>>96472457>>96472477It's not that they have "no idea" or they "don't know how". I think they're just told to outline every single detail to show off the sculpt so they stick to that even when it doesn't make sense and doesn't look good, like female faces
>>96472301It does, doesn't it? Has me worried they'll get rid of Morathi, Har Kuron etc in an edition or two and pivot towards the Khainites being good guys.
>>96472279*SNIIIIIIFF*As do I, anon.
>>96472768You should be able to angle the spears if I remember correctly.
>>96472706Me when the AoS team keeps insisting on taking great WHFB design motifs and just making them worse for AoS. Like the Flesh Eater Courts range is amazing so its not all of them, but most for sure.
>>96472290>>96472341Meh, if you try your tables can look pretty good and be super fun to play on. I like how the terrain of ours games looks, it's nice and Ghyran-y
>>96472690>Alas not painted thoughMost of the designs for them were just shops after they got announced
>>96472842My favourite bit of terrain I've ever painted is this btw. I love the whole "demon summoning" vibe of it lol
>>96472845I've been gradually building up a bunch of Shyishy terrain to use for my own table, I'm pretty proud of how they're all turning out so far. (I say shyishy, just purple roofed houses, towers, etc etc)
>>96472836nah, i disagree. soublight, gitmob, kruleboyz, ironjawz, seraphon, hedonites, khorne, StD have all been an improvment over their old fantasy counterparts. you could maybe argue about the stylistic divergence of kharadron, lumineth, DoK, sylvaneth, or IDK, but i think they're all pretty much better all around as well
>>96472879What a coincidence the factions that are cool are the ones who stayed the closest to their WHFB equivalents wow
>>96472879>soublightSoulblight are pretty good too, but I disagree on Seraphon, Hedonites, Khorne, StD, Ironjawz, or Gitmob being departures from their old WHFB aesthetics. The only one on that list I would say was was the Kruleboyz and they were quite controversial on launch for that very reason.
>>96472768avoid posing the spears pointing forward, most arms are posed in a resting stance so the spears look weightless when rotated to aim forward avoid oversaturated schemes, they're an army of undeath, if the colors say "lively and clean" it means something is off and that will be noticeable play around the bog standard color coding of the parts, you can paint some bones as different materials or viceversa, even faces as masksyou can also easily cut off the noses and/or fill in some of the mouths in greenstuff or spruegoo, you shouldn't feel constrained
>>96473014Kinda curious about what manifestations they might get.
>>96472694here's the post wf replied to for those curious. Seems to indicate a more caveman aesthetic yeah.I don't think this necessarily means no gunpowder at all though, as I'm pretty sure those were always just stolen anyway, and the ironblaster is supposedly staying.
>>96471968Looks pretty cool but I cannot not see a space marine
>>96473021Imagine like a giant half charging bull made of energy! And then like... Hrmmm what do factories have, maybe like some raven swarms floating around! And maybe a giant warhorn shaped like an animals horn!

>As the first-sired, Hashut had every right to ignore these words, not least for their insincerity. Yet these were not subjects but kin. Despite his anger, in his humility and wisdom, he relented. In the mountains of Korrok, he and his servants raised the citadel of Ur-Zorn. He broke the god-bulls and came to respect their tenacity. Across the realms, duardin clanged tankards to honour Hashut, who toiled uncomplainingly in stubborn clay. Please oh please let the "god-bulls" be the goddamn drogrukh. It would be so funny if this entire duardin civilization was unwittingly cosplaying as Kragnos's even more retarded cousins.
>>96473219korrok is a different continent of ghur
>>96473268It's neighboring Donse, just across the sea. It's closer to the ancestral homeland of Kragnos than his mountain prison was.
>>96472546Lmao the only time I have seen 'harassment' (besides shitting on ugly models) is when some faggot marched into the thread and said he was a 'top tournament player on a NA country for Xx faction' as some pathetic flex, and some anon immediately went on BCP and reviewed some article on tourney results and posted his name.I don't know of anything else
>>96473219A clash between the pre-betrayal zharrdron and the ancient drogrukh is a great element, but them unwittingly cosplaying the drogrukhs would be lame. The closest I can support is linking the bull centaurs with the drogrukhs: lets say we make them the result of hashut taming, breaking and harnessing the spiritual power of that race, and gifting it to the chaos dwarfs. It both rationalizes the element, creates an extra significance to it, deepens an already fitting inimicity, and potentially branches the idea, because if hashut could do such a thing once, maybe it can do so again, and we get mutant chaos dwarfs empowered by the essence of something else.We can also run further with the idea and link to that little we're given of hashut's plot so far: maybe harnessing the souls of living beings like this was the breaking point that brought the other dwarfs to accuse hashut of crossing the line, and it also vindicates hashut because in a sense he was keeping his promise and wasn't demon smithing at all (yet), maybe the reason why other such gifts aren't more present it's because hashut was broken during the wars immediately after that betrayal, and a rebuilding of hashut would be a major plot point that can justify why other mutations would suddenly start appearing then.
>>96472768Sounds like a (You) problem. My 40 spear mortek rank up so the ranks of spears go from at arms to at rest in the rear.
>>96473219Isn't that just the bale taurus. My prediction is that they respected it, but still hunted it in extinction because of muh industry, instead choosing to sculpt their machines as their own fucked up way of honouring them.
>>96472466Please pardon my low quality shitpost
>>96472485Are those blue grey terrains FDM ?Looks really good
>>96472394My personal headcannon is that Hashut came into being when dwarfs, who were left behind in chaos wastes, had their faith broken and started bargaining for any deal they could to stop mutating.

>The root of this perversion is the god Hashut, who revealed himself to beleaguered duardin during the Age of Chaos, claiming to be a long-forgotten ancestor god and offering salvation of a kind. He had spent many long years communicating with those trapped in their karak keeps by besieging daemons. There had already been attempts to tame daemonkind – furtive experiments conducted in the dark by desperate Runesmiths – but Hashut offered a more terrible solution to their never-ending war of attrition: the ability to turn such enemies into tools of war.So...the new lore is just Hashut claiming stuff? It finally makes sense with the WHFB lore. Hashut is lying here

Broken Realms was fucking amazing, Dawnbringers was fucking shite, so it's hard to say if it'll be well written, but what do you think it'll be about?I think it'll definitely involve the Helsmiths in some regard, similar to Broken Realms involving Lumineth and OBR, and Dawnbringers being all about the updated CoS stuff.

>>96473948one thing that both dawnbringers and broken realms have in common, is that the successive story is technically tied to what happens but practically almost completely out of the left field compared to what everything was about in those storiesanother element is that the campaigns are just excuses to showcase the latest releases, especially big special characters, so we should largely discard the releases happening soon and take whatever is left as playing actors of the campaign with one book to close the current narrativea few open plotlines are>gordrakk pushing into eightpoints towards the meteroic gate, with katakros also still in eightpoints and archaon pretty much absent in the last 2 editions>tyrion and malerion must show up, and if malerion shows up then khainites must see further pressure onto them, we now have a rumor of cos getting a dok hating special character>speaking of cos special characters there's still the gal that turned into a treegal and joined the kurnothi at the end of dawnbringers, and on that note kurnoth too must rise at last>vandus and khul must must show up, related to them or their characters we have little, save perhaps rumors of other cities in aqshy going down, but that may be skaven, considering one such city was tempest eye, another city that may see an attack is greywater, by abraxia>while back on the aqshy side, related to slaves to darkness we have gunnar brand and the mountain tribes still with a vendetta against skaven>also on the mountains are fyreslayers and chaos dwarfs, also with something against the skaven, so perhaps it's these three ending the gnaw>in other ongoing stuff we have lizards having preemptively amassed aqua ghyranis in preparation to mend the damages the skaven, so they might appear and do something tangential as usual, their only noteworthy name that might get a model is lord gar

>>96474329the nighthaunt tome pitches attempts of nagash to reform completely, so that might be another story, and we're starting to see gw replacing or removing a number of stuff as old as the end times, so it's possible they're thinking about a new model for nagash and/or the 3 mortarchs, arkhan in particular since he's in a different tome from the other 2 and is currently dedfinally we have kragnos still in his personal hell made of saurus warriors, I doubt they have anything planned for him soon, but eventually he will get a faction of centaurs, so perhaps we might see him do something and find one, a herald of the future armymorghur is also potentially returning, but it might be WAY too soon to talk about himmissing from the factions getting mentioned or already with a tome we have nurgle, tzeentch, slaanesh, ogres and giantsnurgle is getting lots of stuff soon, so he might appear but not that much in the end, ogres are in a similar situation but they have 3 special characters to launch apparently, so we might see one getting to do stuff tangentially to some narrative (maybe hired by gordrakk to push through in his story since he's learnt about the power of friendship?), for slaanesh and tzeentch we have nothing on the horizon, but slaanesh has a relatively large range so he might get just a pity appearance (maybe as nuisance for khul?), while tzeentch most definitely has a bone to pick up with lizards since they destroyed one silver tower, so they might be another sidenote appearance too.

I plan to paint my metal-bull-daddy up as if it's being powered by multiple daemons imprisoned within it by the Chorfs.I'm thinking of giving it one gun arm, one melee weapon arm.The melee arm will have red/khorne flames to show the bound Khornate daemon used to grant it strength in combat.Gun arm blue/Tzeentch flames because I'll say it fires magic drawn from the daemon powering said gun.Gut fire will be pink or purple/Slaanesh flames as the daemon is used to grant it haste and a desire to close with the foe.The back/top flames will green/Nurgle themed as they use the corrupting powers of the Nurgle daemon within the metal monster to corrupt the land and air around it and weaken the foe.I hope to god it looks good lmao
>>96474920It wouldn’t be two different kits like Radukar, it’d be two in one box like Morathi or Miao Ying. If they don’t want to refresh the big version they could just repackage them with an extra sprue with the on foot version.

>>96475809The cliché is "industry vs nature", buffoon.
What would be some good basing bits to sort of depict an army arriving at a recently abandoned village? I have an idea for my CoS army where they're an Ulguan force who were supposed to be aiding another town but have found it devoid of life outside of signs of recent activity. >>96475822It's a rad idea but I think you'll struggle to convey it just with extra stuff on bases without making it too cluttered.Good idea for stand-alone terrain though.

They didn't squat VLoZD at all, it's I'm the Anvil of Apotheosis list as a mount + hero combo
>>96478578it does matter, there is no generic hero option. its not about fielding a counts as, or rules, or any of that, its about having the choice to make your own character, which that new set does not allow. you get vhordrai or nothing. not even so much as an alternate weapon bit like you got with tahlia to maybe change things up. no, you get exactly what the writers intended or you take a knife to your $200 model with no spare bits whatsoever. i cant beleive you're making excuses for this garbage, playing defense for the billion pound company that couldnt be arsed to include an alternate rider option or some alternate weapons on the sprue of a model that costs as much as that kit does.no head swaps, no alternate weapons or shields, no extra poses or bodies. nothing. why would you possibly defend this? are you new? kits didnt used to be like that. the mortarch kit has 3 different riders, also with matching heads and armor for the mounts, the coven throne kit also has 3 different builds. from other armies, gobsprakk also comes with a generic boss version, a treelord kit builds 3 different types of models with completely different poses, the mawkrusha builds 2 different riders, or the new mawgrunta has like 3 different riders and optional sidecars. i just cant understand trying to justify that choice to not include any alternate riders or bits, that lone model costs as much as a christmas army box

>>96478610>it does matterNo, it doesn't.A profile for a vampire on a zombie dragon is a profile for a vampire on a zombie dragon, if you want your own dude convert your dude on top of the dragon. The previous kit didn't have different riders either, it was just that one dude, with or without helmet, or with or without lance, hardly the world of customisation for your dude.So at the end of the day you're crying automatically because the name on the profile is different and because you're too dumb to use bits to make your dude.
By the way it seems the ogre/nurgle rumour dude has gotten a taste for attention and posted a "story" today. He deleted most of it afterwards but some guy on tga saved it :>There was once a series of stories, originally intended to be published in multiple volumes>In the first volume, the main character - shaman successfully mastered the method of summoning Incarnates and forged an alliance with the Orruks. Though the Incarnate he summoned was slain by a powerful woman, he remained undaunted and proceeded to summon further Incarnates of different kinds>In the second and subsequent volumes, the Shaman led his pallid Gor-kin companions in summoning Spider Incarnate>Meanwhile, the Dispossessed, leading the Dawnbringers, discovered the Khazalid ruins buried deep beneath the Ghur. This discovery held the potential to revive the lost civilisation of the Dispossessed>They also discovered countless ley lines stretching vertically and plunging deep into the Ghur. While battling the Spider Incarnate summoned by the Shaman and the new Gor-kin threat, they pressed onward with their excavation>Finally, the truth that astonished everyone was revealed: these vertically extending ley lines had long been targeted by rats. For centuries, these repulsive creatures had been executing some sinister scheme, and it was here they encountered a dreadful rat daemon - the daemon who orchestrated the entire stories>However, this story series was cancelled because the vast majority of its main characters were required to appear in another product line launched subsequently. Consequently, the models that had already been produced were unfortunately shelvedSeems to explain some of the weirdness surrounding season of war, beasts, and the weird dorf unity hints that went nowhere.
>>96478736So it overlaped so much they couldn't make both at the same time yet it needed to shelve it's models?Something doesn't add up

Is it just me or dose the colouring in the Chorf art look a bit weird as if it was added last minute because GW hadn't decided on the main colour scheme yet. It reminds of the stuff you'd see when GW was transitioning from black and white to full colour books and they where just digitally colouring old artwork.
>>96478821nah, it's just wonky and haphazardly made digital art
>>96478821the models are always made with the scheme already in mind and the artworks are always made after the models are done and painted
>>96478604I think way more people need to consider this option when whining that stuff gets removed. When I heard the Khorne Lord on Juggernaut was gone from the book, the very first question I asked "can you get a juggernaut as a mount in AoA?" and lo and behold, you can! So since the people I play with are all cool dudes, I can keep on using my cool juggerlord the whole edition, at a minimum.
population issues kinda stopped being a thing after the rite of life skiddadle right?
>>96478821>It reminds of the stuff you'd see when GW was transitioning from black and white to full colour booksThat figures, since Boyd has been doing art for GW since long before they started mandating that all new artwork be produced digitally.

>>96478992NTA, but the system did make me think of warmahordes too. Not that I mind at all, actually, it's a pretty cool system and it's way more interesting than what I expected from the daemonic power system when I first saw "you get better ward if you have more", since they get wiped each turn, so you get cool powerup moments but sometimes a unit will find itself drained at the wrong moment.>>96479000Seems like a fairly bog standard flamer profile, with higher damage to account for the huge size of it. Skaven have a lot of of them. Admittedly I'm not sure why it's specifically anti-cavalry rather than anti-infantry, but it's not a particularly strong gun or anything, the melee profile is a lot nastier, especially if a fully powered one gets a charge off.>>96478997This is very powerful against slower armies (ironically) because taking a 4" blightking to 2" just means it's not going fucking anywhere, but a 14" eel going to 7" is still getting places. >>96479582as far as control abilities go, that ones actually pretty great. if you manage to stack some points on that guy, you're looking at a 24" wholly within, a 50" wide bubble. its damn near the whole table. a 3 point control swing for your entire army is actually good. only downside is it doesnt effect the warmachines and bull centaurs, infantry only.
>>96479582It's not even a bad ability. And depending on how many DPPs you get, powering it up can be very potent, 24" is a huge area, easily covering several objectives. As someone who frequently plays with a Knight-Vexilor, handing out +3 control score should definitely not be underestimated, and he always gives it to himself so if he has a single DPP, then it'll easily also cover the infantry unit he's with, and that's +6 CS on an objective, more than a whole monster. Presumably Helsmith infantry is going to be fucking tanky, and if he's behind a line of dudes on an objective, taking it is going to be really hard since we're looking at a minimum of 9CS on it with literally just him and a single dude (that's not a standard).
>>96479619>I don’t expect them to be stupid and ignore both what their audience saysThis is GW we're talking about here, when have they ever made good choices, ever.

>>96479369Kek
>>96479657if you think control score matters then you are really bad at this game
>>96479639Have we seen the warscroll of their basic infantry? They show them getting potentially a 5+ ward in the article, and even just 20 wounds on a 4+/5++ is kind of a pain to shift and even just a few surviving means you aren't taking that objective with anything that breaks that defensive statline unless it's a megagargant. For example, a common hammer unit will have either 10 CS1 models (and maybe a standard) or 6 CS2 models (usually no standard, but sometimes has one). If just three of the helsmith dudes survive (absolutely possible), you aren't taking that objective even with 12CS. If you only have 10CS or less (for example, a 6-man CS1 unit), then you NEED to wipe the whole unit, or you're not taking the objective at all. And I can't think of a whole lot of things that actually reliably cleans up 20 wounds with a 5+ ward in a single fight phase. It exists, of course, but you're not doing it below 500 points.
>>964797024" movegood luck getting on that objective lolthe dwarves are the worst part of this army, but all the war machines, cavalry, and monsters are great
>>96479702i highly suspect their armored infantry are going to be on 3+ saves like the despot. the cloth armored priests and shirtless gunners are on 4+s

3 control can come in clutch, but the amount of times that 3 control actually swings an objective will not be very often, to the point that its basically irrelevant. though a board wide buff is potentially more useful

>>964806821st Bonespliterz armybook already had a gimmick for them, that being hunting magic infused animals to make enchanted trophies
>>96481001>Literally ALL bonespliterz had to have to be saved, is be souped with spiderfag gobthat wouldn't save bonesplitterz, it would hasten the inevitable squatting of spiders
>>96481064>monster hunter: the armyI hope ironjawz or kruleboyz pick up part of this gimmick at least
>>96481064that didn't go very far as an idea, gimmicks need to be bolder
>>96481101Thats called developing the concept, Behemths started like that too
>>96480682Faction was sculpted by a moron who have the entire faction doing jazz hand, even the archer and the cavalry, for some reason. And GW were too stingy at the time to cast those shitty molds to mount doom and hire someone who can sculpt.
>>96480387>>96480435FOR THE LOVE OF BLOOD ROSE PRINCE!Good and kind Ghoulanon, would you scan and share new FEC battletome with us?
>>96481148there weren't many options that satisfied all requirements>non neutral poses>fit on 25mm based regiments >can be equipped with 2 weapons, 1 weapon and shield, 1 spear and shield, or bows
>>96476222>like them saying the Skaven would get QueekNo the leak said something like "a skaven warlord clad in red with a trophy rack" which is both a cheeky reference to Queek and an accurate description of the clawlord on gnawbeast (or was it Krittok? either way)
>>96481403Yeah that's what I said, skaven riding rat!
>>>96480705no one outside of gw knows for sure but I'm guessing it's either they wanted to cut costs or make the jump from spearhead to 2k the easiest jump in the world. their game design switched from putting a lot of an army's power from its battle traits and enhancements to its units, but then also placing a strict limit on how large a warscroll can be.there's also a lot of shit that bleeds over from spearhead into the main game that make way more sense there. Like the amount of recursion every army can have, or the 3+ rolls because you're not presented with the choice of bringing a hero or not. They might have seperate warscrolls for each game but there's clearly some shared design between many warscrolls. The most troubling part is we're past the point where they would have gotten player feedback on it and are still doubling down on it with new books and some sog scrolls. So 5e probably gonna suck as well. Silverlining is maybe people will be more open to running older versions of the game for pick up play in shops or a community version of the game will emerge.
>>96481403it was a reference towards the special character because it mentioned his loyal bodyguard of stormverminit is possible he was genuinely thinking it was queek reborn/reincarnatedwe all know the best way for queek to return is as a verminlord warbringer anyway
Someone was saying Rob dropped some company leaks about the AoS team? When did that happen
>>96480111> 7 A Damage 4 Rend 2 and possibly Crit MortalsThat's a BVLL
>>96481574in the video where he talks about the 4 colored rumor engines, he also talks about the leaker in TGA, and according to what he knows he's someone who actually worked at gw that was laid off recently and (illegally) dumped the info regarding the next year of aos releases why would someone do that when he risks legal retaliation (and the leaker in question did in fact delete his stuff and say he might have said too much and risk a fine in the 5 digits)? we don't know, maybe it's pure spite and the belief they can't prove it's himanother speculation, not necessarily about this leaker in particular, is that the competing departments may leak each other's shit to somehow fuck the other sideit all sounds unbelievably stupid
So hypothetically if I was buying into a nurgle army.... Is there any particular units that are neat or fun to paint? I realize there's about to be new armored dudes. What would the nurgley folks here reccomend.
>>96481627Almost everything is a treat to hobby with. Only Kit I have trouble with are the pusgolyes, maybe paint those in sub assemblies. The bigger issue with that kit though it not breakingthe wings or having them fall off the base
>>96481627blightkingsblightkingsand then more blightkings
>>96481626I would love to see GW legal try to prove damages> Ib4 liquidated damages provisionLmao not enforceable where I live...
>>96481627I have never ever heard a single negative thing about blightkings, everyone I've ever talked to had the best time with them
>>96479582cry about it, dudes main ability is +1 attack which is leagues better than my fucking knight of shrouds and he gets this shit you complete control over on your turn in his pocket that you can preplan at the start of the turn to steal an obj with 5 hobgrots or whatever the fuck. No game shitters everywhere I swear.
OK, maybe I'm retarded, but with the new teasers which hopefully amount to more than just four new foot heroes, I know order = FS, Chaos = Nurgle, Destruction is Ogors... but what Death faction is getting love? It's not immediately obvious to me from the image.
>>96481741its obr.
>>96481741
>>96481626>another speculation, not necessarily about this leaker in particular, is that the competing departments may leak each other's shit to somehow fuck the other sideLol
>>96481647I'm getting the spearhead, Glottkin, the mortal heroes, a few random daemon heroes. (on top of the 5 blight kings and wurmspat I have) So thankfully got a nice spread. I'm very excited, Nurgle models always look so fucking cool. I'm half tempted to pick up the funny slug guy too at some point. Glad to see it's gonna be fun!
>>96480435Okay that's fucking sick
>>96479582...Anon, that's unironically a potentially game-winning ability. Remember, AoS is won/lost by controlling objectives, and winning battle tactics. You pop two DP on your War Despot at the right time, and all of a sudden your opponent *isn't* controlling objectives, *isn't* completing battle tactics, *isn't* scoring.Granted, it's not flashy (Timmy doesn't give a single fuck about it) but you slap it on to a hero who also hands out +1 attack to an infantry unit, and is apparently walking around with 6W, +2 save, and a +5 ward *and* a 4A 3+/3+/2/3 weapon, and you've got a hero that is practically auto-include if you're leaning into infantry at all.
>>96481758>>96481777Damn. All I want is new crypt horrors and a special courtier to lead them.
>>96481866>new crypt horrorsgranted
Fucked up that DoT still don't include the big cat.
>>96481885I painted mine green, gave them all deffcopta blades to look like swords and gave one a big hunk of metal to call a shield.
An entire civilization of women in yoga pants.
>>96481887Fucked you don't run one with your DoT knowing you can
>>96481861All 100 point chorf heroes are going to be strong because they have a defacto +1 dp per turn ability. Bringing this guy and reinforced cohort gives them the 5+ ward every turn.
>>96481975 >>96481975 >>96481975 new thread lads
>>96481885So this is the only Ogor kit that's a safe purchase alongside the Bloodpelt?Would that be playable?
>>96481983the bloodpelt will die too
>>96471501Soon
>>96481626>the competing departments may leak each other's shit to somehow fuck the other sideGod the idea that GW's own internal departments actually have to compete with each other is so fucking stupid. What kind of ass-backwards company would run itself like that?
You know what,As someone that's been playing this since release I gotta admit that memes aside this shit is much better than 40k
