The Tau navy needs to get more attention. At first I thought the Tau didn't have large ships, but that's not true at all, they're actually as big as Imperium ships, not quite as 'long' but much 'wider' by comparison (an Or'es El'leath-class Battleship is only 5.5 km long, but it's 7 km wide, whereas an Imperium battleship is around 10 to 12 km long typically but it's much more narrow). But we basically never actually get to see their navy win. And yeah most of this is cause for the fight to happen they can't just blow up the enemy before they land but still, give us something. If nothing else at least show off the industrial superiority of the Tau.

Dark Eldar refresh is coming. I can feel it.
>>96585965>on twitter people have started ironically agenda posting about warhammerYou mean unironically? It can be a bit hard to tell whether the agenda-posting is genuine or not and nerds will use any IP to push a social agenda.
>>96585964I was paid to read jjk, and genuinely I liked it better before I read it. I thought domain expansions were worse bankai, binding vows are never explained and the truth scene from FMA does a much better job being what you'd expect, and the characters were terrible.I definitely do think some people dead ass have domains, like the lion does in his 30k novella (search "the lion is the master of all his domains") but I think the warp is a bit too esoteric to be in shonen slop

It's a pretty normie take, but i don't know too many mangaka by name, but Tatsuki Fujimoto would definitely be a good pick for any story that deals with the warp or just general grimdarkness of the imperium.Fire Punch's world building is a great at showing a world where humanity is doing holding no bars in their struggle to survive, and the shit people that are able to wiggle into that system. And Chainsaw man is also great if you want an idea of the mundane, bullshit and absolutely terrifying demons are.>>96585989You'reright, but if you gave him a story about a leman russ crew i'm sure he'd have a blast just drawing the machinery.
>>96585881at beast just get a studio to do an anime or game adaptationmight be hard because warhammer isn't really relevant in japan so the artists wouldn't be to familiar and thus not really passionate in the product
>>96585991>I gonna need a explanation for this anonI write scripts for videoes, someone really wanted to do jjk content so they paid me to read it so I could help write scripts >Its the 'other dimension for space travel' and beings can come out of it, hell JJK spirits stem from emotions from living people already so I really think it wouldn't be hard at all to put it in shonen slopits more like platos world of forms, abnett and the dark coil guy whos name I can't spell do the best job of illustrating the scope and terror that the warp would have
>>96585994just seeing his takes on warhammer tanks would be cool
>>96585989So it seems that Toriyama isn't an option, and neither is Gege Akutami. If I had to be honest maybe the perfect mangaka for making a Black Library book in manga form adaptation or original Black Library Manga should be a washed up mangaka willing to take on any job involving his profession. As sad as it may be. I don't think any mangaka is gonna willingly work for GW unless desperately in need of some money.
Since we're on the talk of warhammer manga, could you anyone recommend me some grimdark or just warhammer adjacent anime/manga
>>96586003there's still plenty of mangaka who do licensed stuff but you're not gonna get anyone really famous doing adaptationsmaybe get them to do designs for a game or a promotion but that's it
>>96585873the attack on titan guy would be pretty decent>actually plans his stories out fully before starting>loves drawing brutality whenever he can>fetishistic focus on the mechanisms of contraptions and equipment

Why is the Imperium's Navy so advanced compared to the Imperial Guard? Case in point, on the ground the Tau tend to outmatch the Imperium by quite a bit, pulse rifles are on-par with bolters and that's their standard infantry rifle, Fire Warrior armor is basically call carapace-tier and that's considered the worst armor they're willing to use, Imperial Guard soldiers get upgraded to Veterans if they survive long enough, but Tau Fire Warriors get upgraded to straight up battlesuits. There's definitely a technology gap that, outside of pulling a rare Emperor Class Titan into the battlefield or some other rare archaeotech they can barely recreate, tends to favor the Tau.But that's not the case Navy wise. A railgun is considered pretty advanced on the ground where it punches bigass holes in things and even shreds the gene-seeds of Space Marines, but in the navy...it's just another gun. Like, Tau ships aren't worse than Imperial Navy ships (at least the dedicated Tau warships)...but they're not better either. Which would indicate that the Imperial Navy hasn't really decayed at all. It's still keeping up all the same advanced technology that it once had.
So I probably shouldn’t but warptalons anytime soon huh
>>96586152Wrong pic, meant to post this
>>96586152idk what this is but its kind of hot...
>>96586152>pulse rifles are on-par with bolters and that's their standard infantry rifle,Pulse Rifles shots travel at the speed of light and have more stopping power than bolters. Older marks of the Pulse Rifle couldn't punch through marine power armor. The newer marks of the Pulse Carbine/Rifles now easily tear through power armor. The Navy lore has been neglected since BFG died but from context clues we can say that the T'au navy in the Third Sphere Expansion fleets did pretty well against the Imperial Navy and kept them on the backfoot for the majority of the war.

>>96586167>tau are not more advanced than other factions,The lore outright says that the Tau are technologically superior to the Imperium with only the Admech being able to match and exceed the Tau in some aspects. Some of the DAoT technology is trash compared to what the Tau currently have.

>>96586186It's like you didn't even read my post I'm underlining a difference between the average distributed tech level and the highest possible tech levelof course the tau have the superior average, but they're still an inexperienced civilisation that has not toyed with some of the stuff the higher ends of what mankind achieved in the daot, and that still gets to use in the 41st millennium, albeit sporadically

>>96586230>get hair
>>96586186>>96586167Alright let's just go through this one by one.>RiflesTau tech is better. Pulse rifles/carbines, pulse blasters, rail rifles, they got all kinds of shiny toys.>Infantry armorFrom what little is given about it, from what I can tell it's essentially Carapace-tier armor, but more lightweight. But that said, the Imperium has Carapace-tier armor and knows how to build more of it, they just don't because they don't particularly value the lives of Guardsmen and it's cheaper to use Flak Armor. So...tech is about equal, but the Tau's is better distributed.>Genetic engineeringThe Tau don't really have an equivalent to Space Marines, they do have some life-extension tech IIRC but their philosophy tends to skew away from using it too much. Generally speaking they rely on robotics instead of muscle.>Industry & InfrastructureAnother area where the Tau are just plainly better. The Imperium's industry is vastly under-automated, both from a combination of ideology and simply having lost the tech. Although the Tau's AI isn't Men of Iron tier, it is more than sufficient to automate much of the industry of their society and thus vastly increase their industrial capabilities despite a relatively small population comparatively. Additionally, the Tau are building ecumenopolises housing trillions of people without them becoming pollution-filled hive worlds, and they're building massive space stations for billions of Air Caste. The Imperium does have remnants of a great industry and infrastructure but it's clearly aging and falling apart under lack of maintenance and know-how.
>>96586239>VehiclesTbh if anyone knows more about this tell me cause I'm actually not sure about this one.But from what little I know, it seems like the Tau have better vehicles. Hammerheads are supposed to be better than Leman Russ's IIRC, focused more on speed and a high-power railgun compared to the Leman Russ's extra turrets and relative spammability. And we do tend to see the Tau have air dominance more often than not, and the fact that they have the air equivalent of a titan is rather telling on that front. But I've also heard other people say that Tau stuff is just Imperial reskins so...I'm leaning towards the Tau on this one but back me up or tell me otherwise if you know more.>WalkersHot take: The Tau have better walkers. At every single level the Tau's walkers seem to be better than the Imperium's equivalent, to the point it actually makes comparison a little difficult because you're not sure whether to slot them into a higher or lower tier. Like sure, a Stormsurge will take out Knights fairly easily, but it's far too small to be compared to a Titan. The Crisis battlesuit is too spammable to be compared to a Dreadnought but the Riptide is too powerful to be compared to it fairly. Tau walker tech feels like it's half a step up. Yes, they don't have an equivalent to an Emperor Class Titan...but they don't need one per se. Get half a dozen Stormsurges together and they could probably take that out.>NavyOkay so...the Tau Navy really is nothing special. For now. This really is just an area where the Tau need a lore update desu. Cause their navy tends to get dunked on a lot in the name of facilitating boarding actions or ground combat. It feels like we got told that the Tau were building a dedicated combat navy and then afterwards nothing much came out of it other than whatever Battlefleet Gothic came up with.

>>96586152I mean even just stuff the imperium can mass produce they have far better tech than the Tau. Teleportation, far far better shield tech, hover tech, better armor. The IG tech isn't shitty, or weak. It's designed for logistics. For arming as many available bodies and being as easily repaired as possible for the massive wars of attrition the imperium fights. Like the leader of the Tau empire was killed by a single imperial assassin. Who used reproducible tech.

>>96586384titans and fortresses have void shields and other features that make them hard targets. mortars will always be useful for infantry, even if they can be obliterated from orbit by macro cannon. But you have to consider cost to benefit. It doesnt really make sense for a macro cannon to shoot a space marine because thats just an insane amount of investment to kill one guy. Also 40k has actually written a fair few space naval engagements in lore and warzone and imperial armor stuff and explained why space navies usually cant sit in low orbit providing direct support to their forces. Usually space navies will sit on opposite sides of the planet in geosynchronous orbit from each other because its too big a risk from either side to fight a direct naval engagement, because if they lose they lose everything.
>>96586394Let's check what ChatGPT has to say:>Antigrav in the Imperium is highly rare and unevenly distributed, primarily limited to technologically advanced Forge Worlds, wealthy Civilised Worlds, and Space Marine Chapters, due to lost knowledge and logistical challenges in its mass production. While Land Speeders and some Primaris tanks represent its military use, civilian applications exist on richer worlds, often as grav-skimmers for personal transport or in specialized industrial settings. The technology, a relic from the Dark Age of Technology, remains a difficult, "lost art" in the late 41st Millennium, with any advancement beyond salvaged STCs being a monumental and rare achievement. >The Imperium has lost the widespread ability to construct advanced antigrav devices, relying on salvaged STCs from the Dark Age of Technology to restore certain capabilities.

>>96586467Might not be a huge investment if you want to destroy their transports and leave them pinned (which should be good anyway, considering how valuable even a single space marines is compared to the ordinary human in 40k) or if you're facing hordes. As for spaceships there are lots of instances where they are used as the main tools to do the heavy lifting in ground fights: in the RT setting you have macrobatteries specifically designed to nuke objectives on the ground aswell as other things that can just fire from outside orbit (such as the long range lances). If i recall correctly in the lore there are several mentions of planets and even forgeworlds laid barren by spaceship fire alone (outside exterminatus). I mean i get you could simply look at standard 40k games as slightly bigger combat patrol games, so assets as mass artilley, aviation and spaceships dont come into play, but then GW should just avoid putting stuff like the Fleet commander enhancement, because a fuckton of kilotonnes of ordnance just doing D3 mortals across 12" feels extra dumb

>>96586831He did it because he’s a warrior who thinks you can trust the enemy in a war zone. People can find plenty of bad stuff space marines have done but this is a very poor example that became a meme because redditors who never read the book saw quotes in memes
>>96586798The only problem is you being the type of retard that needs to be spoonfed everything.Marines usually get their bombastic "hero" moments while everything else is going to shit and survive by a hair. It's their thing and SM2 just follows the trope
Night Lords are literally the most noble space marines. People focus too much on the small things.
>>96586843No, the problem is that you are coping hard. Space Marine2 more or less does portray the imperium as the good guys. The dark stuff is entirely in the background, like servo skulls on a tech-priest. This is not actually debatable.I wasn't saying this is a good thing, just pointing out why it happened. Imperium Space Marine content sells

In a galaxy so fucked up, yes they are the good guys.>>96586861Look at this motherfucker. Can't even tell the difference between Iron Warriors and Night Lords. >>96586870>You got your shit pushed in>YouAs I've said, redditor subhuman.
>>96586866From a human perspective I agree. Obviously they do a lot of fucked up shit, but like...chaos is real. Their is a reason their religion persecutes heretics, heresy actually does chaos nightmares from the depths of hell to pop into reality. Even the emperor's Imperial Creed was just another way of forcing an orthodox meant to starve chaos of worship. That's why the tone of 40k is so all over the place. Yes, the imperium started off as satirical. But this is a universe where hyper theocrat-fascists are actually right.

>>96586678>>96586643Bullshit, Typhon by fluff is literally using buzzard/vulture tactics and bullying other hive fleets when they're about to digest the world through capillary towers. Not very "new big bad" energy, if anything Tiamet & its mystery meat planets is more that pace.

>>96586944>*sigh* if only people understood the dark allure of the darkest eldari
>>96586983I actually think they might save it for an actual preview. There are Vanguard Vets and Assault Termies comming before 11th.
>>96586959>Typhon by fluff is literally using buzzard/vulture tacticsSo they're fufilling the scavenger role in the food chain we don't see often in other hive fleets? I wonder if they're all fufilling another aspect of an alien food chain we don't really understand...

>>96586988they revealed the new Calgar, Sicarius and friends in a WarCom article without fanfare
>>96586991Typhon is also the genestealer hive fleet
>>96586959being predatory and opportunistic even towards the other fleets would be the absolute perfect excuse for it to rapidly grow to prominence after the demise of leviathan.
>>96587009Because shit got leaked and they had no choice. It was also leaked tied to some wife beater from GW so it was all a panic reveal.
>>96586991I think it'd be better if they fractured the hivemind so all the hivefleets are fighting amongst each other more.
>>96586883that wouldn't be the exact shade, it's just to illustrate what segments could be reasonably be separated and paired with the same color
>>96587029>some wife beater from GWWorse. Iirc, Andy Smillie is a department head and there is a rumor circulating that he physically assaulted another GW worker while at work. It's one of the reasons speculated as to why Sugden left GW.
>>96587012Interesting how it picks on the other earlier hive fleets. I can see it/headcanon it as all the other big hivefleets are just the expendable vanguard and Typhon is apart of the 'real' force. A reminder that all the new tyranid models from levithan are in fluff new tyranid bioforms from the start of the fourth Tyrannic war. So now we're seeing very powerful new organisms with this scavenger hivefleet which clearly sees its own success as far more important than the war weary/damage earlier hive fleets
>>96587030no need to fracture the hive mind for that to happen >>96587012 saying typhon is unique in that is bullshit, hydra had a similar behaviour and we had other small stories about fleets meeting each other and fighting before one subsuming the other.
@Gork is this true?
>>96587030I disagree personally. Even if each Hivefleet is a seperate Hivelfeet (which they kind of are already they don't all work in total unison) that doesn't mean they're all just going to turn on each other. Schools of sharks work together to find prey and don't turn on each other for a meal
>>96587037Nah, fracturing it would be better since it causes more of it to happen. Also it ties more into the theme in 40k that everything and factions are in a decline.
>>96587034>Some dickhead punches or attacks someone at work>Uninvolved third party quits over itDid GW try to protect Andy even though hes a violent dickhead, why would someone committing a crime then getting fired (presuembly) make someone want to quit
>>96587029Only Calgar was leaked. They had no need to reveal Sicarius and the Victrix
>>96587041Meaning there is no downside to doing it.It gives more "personality" to individual hivefleets and would bring out more special mutations and adaptations as the hivefleets try to adapt to survive in the galaxy.Like 1 hivefleet becoming macro predators who primarily attack other hivefleets for biomass and new genetics.Or another which becomes more planet bound where they take over planets entirely but don't destroy it but start to use the said planet as a farm for more biomass and then spread to more and more systems.
>>96587038>less people play game>have to sell better value to get more people to buy them
>>96587038what can I even use the space marine dreadnought as for in 40k?
>>96587056Both of your example already happen, why make a change if what you want to achieve with that change is already canon?
>>96587054If the company you work for is protecting some violent dickhead, that's just telling you it is a good time to leave so you don't get caught in the crossfire or other fuckery. Also it is just telling you that the internal company culture is going to shit if employees can just assault one another with impunity and nothing gets done about it.
>>96586164>The Navy lore has been neglected since BFG diedOne of the things I appreciated about Arks of Omen introducing Boarding Actions was that it centered void warfare through a lot of the story, even if it was obviously more about the little dudes doing the boardings and not about the ships and fleets.GW should do more boarding action shit.
>>96587062It doesn't happen enough. Also since there is clearly no downside to doing it, then I see no problem.
>>96587065Assuming he wasn't fired of course. I'm assuming GW isn't engaging in illegal behaviour and fired him (and to avoid getting sued I imagine). Is Andy still working there?
>>96586783They are the one and the same, but after winning last crusade as gsc it’s only reasonable the hive fleet arrived.I’m running underground assault list is sort of silly but it does synergise and it’s narratively appropriateGeneral: trygon primeEpic heroes; alpha fex (ooe)Alpha lictor :(deathleaper)NeurotyrantPatriarch6 zoanthropes2 carnifex with devourers and claws and devourers and talons respectively. 10 genestealers1 biovore. >>96586785Yeah Armageddon is a place of many recycled names.Map was set near the equatorial jungle, had weird diagonal deployment marked with purple dice.
>>96587076>Is Andy still working there?Yes.
>>96587061Idk maybe a knight. It's humongous.
>>96587074>Like 1 hivefleet becoming macro predators who primarily attack other hivefleets for biomass and new genetics.Anon literally in that reply chain Typhon does litteraly that, as does hivelfeet Hydra.>Or another which becomes more planet bound where they take over planets entirely but don't destroy it but start to use the said planet as a farm for more biomass and then spread to more and more systems.Thats what Tiamet is, a single planet so far but its there. Also in the Octarius War hive fleets were storing biomass at conquered planets poles under thick ice sheets
>>96587069making a new format for the end-of-edition campaign is a pretty smart move, I do wonder what they'll do for this edition
>>96587080Well thats shit as assuming the rumour is true of course
>>96587085I have a sneaking suspicion we are going to see that tomb world terrain reboxed as a new game for at for part of the end of edition campaign again.
>>96587096I wouldn't mind it, that terrian is pretty cool, if they did close quarters as a theme to run back boarding actions but to represent structures it'd be fine
>>96587034>reasons speculated as to why Sugden left GWShe said she got bullied in GW and was frustrated to be reduced to a hand. Also apparently she got a pay cut while the one who bullied her got a raise so she rage quit.
>>96587038Same reason why Spearhead for AoS is cheaper. because AoS is deader than HH.
>>96587061As...a...dreadnought?
>>96586611Ok, but now the question is, which company?I mean I assume you aren't going to do the entire chapter. So are you going to go completely dead centre stock-standard and make them 2nd Company? Or are you going to give some love to a different Company?
>>96587055Leaker was about to leak Victrix as well but GW was faster. That's what he claimed on telegram.>>96587096The terrain is going to be released separately in 5 months. That's the response GW gave to people with fucked up box contents. TAT place had a full thread of people complaining how they got different sprues or damaged contents.
>>96587038They know 40k has the most braindead consumerbase. They don't need to put in any actual effort and dumbasses will still eat it up and ask for seconds.
>>96587112I'm gonna make them reinforcements operating outside of the codex (like the 200+ officers Guilliman is training to rule worlds)
>>96587043You can have more of it happening, arbitrarily right now.The theme of decline is one of the setting's protagonists, not its enemies, tyranids are the enemy, perhaps even more so than chaos.
>>96587084>Anon literally in that reply chain Typhon does litteraly that, as does hivelfeet Hydra.I know, but they don't need to be part of the hivemind for it.
>>96587084>a single planet so far but its therePretty sure in 10th codex its been said there are multiple ones like Ziaphoria and they've been at it since M35.
>>96587079It was pretty wild, I forgot to take pictures except for at the end when the zoanthropes blew apart the last remaining knight unit: some bloodletters ensuring that Tyranid attack agenda was achieved. As I suspected both ooe and the wrecking squad along with the zoanthropes needed to combine tactics to drop the big t13 knight, although the zoanthropes did nuke one over 2 turns solo as well.
>>965870561) you're removing one of the sole things unique to nids for no reason2) hive fleets already have enough personality and it wouldn't necessarily add more of itThe ambiguity of how much unified nids are is what makes it good, same as the ambiguity of how much personality named Nids have, "personhood" is a gradient for them and its great
>>96587136Alas trygon prime died after digging a few holes, again. Not sure there is a single game it’s survived this crusade even with a -1damage enhancement but hey.
>>96587127>not its enemies,Orks are in decline, they are degenerated krorks. All eldar are in decline and currently dying off never to regain their might.Tau are in decline, they already have separatists and some spheres are doubting the Greater Good while the Ethereals are resorting to more unscrupulous methods.Necrons are in decline with geriatric and insane leaders while they also cannot truely replace their losses for once a necron construct is destroyed beyond repair it cannot be replaced. And Chaos in general is always in a state of decline because they are all backstabbing scumbags who will exploit any weakness when it shows itself.Nids degenerating and fracturing adds to the bleakness of 40k.What you said is blatantly wrong.
>>96587109It's larger than any dreadnought in 40k, it's fitted on a 100mm base, a whole 10mm bigger than the redemptor, it's fucked up.
>>96587140>1) you're removing one of the sole things unique to nids for no reasonWhat unique is there about the hivemind? Also even if you fractured it, the hivemind would still exist. It's just that all the hivefleets have their own hivemind that controls them.>2) hive fleets already have enough personality and it wouldn't necessarily add more of itThey really don't.Only thing each has are just a different colorschemes. None of their specializations are ever relevant, and largely never matter.A warrior from hivefleet behemoth is no different than a warrior from hivefleet Leviathan. Only difference being what color they are.
>>96587140>The ambiguity of how much unified nids are is what makes it goodThere is no actual ambiguity about how unified nids are, it's not at all mystery. They are all under a 1 single hivemind, that's the canon. And to pretend it is a mystery is just intentionally acting stupid. It's the reason why Old One Eye or Swarmlord can just appear in any hivefleet there is.
>>96587151Funny how Saturnine killed HH and Saturnine was the biggest thing HHfags apparently wanted. Till it relased.
>>96587143>Orks are in declineNo, they aren't >they are degenerated krorksNo, they are unbound krorks, and in any case it was a latter addition from a retard who didn't understand that by adding this fluff it undermines this shit and makes anything concerning orks about going back to that point, which is lame and misses the point of orks>Tau are in declineNo, they aren't, the are the rising alien empire, when there's a decline happening is because we're forced to see them in the light of a protagonist, not the enemy>Necrons are in declineNo, they weren't when they got introduced as another ultimate doom, and again, the presence of a decline got introduced only with the push to portray them in lights that allow us to see them as protagonists, through their point of view>Chaos in general is always in a state of decline because they are all backstabbing scumbagsYou're mistaking decline with instability, regardless of the fracturing parts, chaos is rising and is posed as an inevitable threat You don't understand 40k
