>try to buy card on TCGPlayer>they keep canceling and refunding any order I make saying something is wrong with my accountWhat the hell I can't even consoom
>>96587188Tcgplayer has sucked for a LONG timeId almost rather use card kingdom and pay a little extra
>LGS still has 8+ inventory on the entire SPM set singles two days after release, not a single card shows lower stock (the store does not show a hard count via their website for anything higher than 8, so 8 is their "we have a ton of these" count)>for literally any other set in the past 3 years, MKM, OTJ, DFT, you name it - you could barely even buy singles for commons from the set let alone rares or mythicsFor once, the universe has done something good. Someone mark this shit on the calendar.
>>96587040Is the long nosed, unshowered, footsie playing mtggirl from the last thread going to be the new /mtg/ general mascott? I propose we call her: "Sophia"
>>96587253I bet lots of MtG players like Spooderman. He's the most popular Marvel hero. It's just that when you mix MtG and Spiderman, it's disgusting. No pure Spiderman fan is going to get into Magic because there's a Spiderman set either. It doesn't help that a lot of Spiderman fans are fucking pissed because Marvel HATES Spiderman and keeps fucking him over putting him into the most retarded storylines. In the latest Spiderman comic they literally had him get cucked by a random techbro and had him temporarily gain cosmic powers so he could see into an infinite number of universes where he's successful and having sex with hot bitches so he could feel even more cucked because in the current one he's bitchless.
>>96587263Yes.Sometimes all a repulsive mtggirl needs is a lil bit of love and care. Teach her not to drool like a retard. Explain some basic manners. Maybe hose her down a little, behind the shed. Nobody has to know about it, about her unfortunate past. If there is something worthy underneath all the terrible things, then it worths the invesment of your time and care. Make a lady out of her. My grampa always said: You can turn the pig into something else, not a princess, but maybe a horse.
>>96587319Gotta give Sophia the firehose, goddamn
The great MTG Exodus is near, maybe 13-15days, maybe not, but it is very close. I cant take it anymore. The prices, the cards, the roadmap. I have to find something else to collect but what?? I used to love spiderman, I cant even look at it anymore.
>>96587352You could get into guns
>>96587356They are too loud and heavy.
>TQI think Planes could be reworked into something cool, not sure how tho
Battles aren't abandoned, they've said there's gonna be at least one upcoming set with Battles.
>>96587384they also said standard is flourishing so excuse me if I don't take their word for granted, until battles actually show up again, they are abandoned to me
Any Pioneer spider brews?
>>96587356I do love me CZ75. Czech is beautiful.
Hey everyone. I am moving address soon, so I am aggressively downsizing my cardboard collection so it takes a smaller physical footprint.Anyways I dumped a bunch of Magic product I didn't want (a bunch of pre-covid Commander precons that were trash to me, I took out any singles worth a damn) in the garbage area of my apartment building. I was walking past the same area a few hours later and I saw a small brown child rummaging through all of my cards near the dumpster seemingly excited. I thought it was amusing and wanted to share.
>>96587356Why not into both? Like what you like.>>96587263Sophia is a beautiful name.
>>96587510No... No... NO!YGO WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE BLACK KID'S GAME!!!WHITE PEOPLE ARE LEAVING FOR YGO EN MASSE AND BLACK PEOPLE ARE PLAYING MAGIC!!!THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING TO ME!!!
MTG is a solved game
>>96587522I am 96587510. I am white. I am a former Magic player who now plays Master Duel at home. I just made the Ryzeal deck as a free2player. I don't know how you described me so well, but come at me bro.
>>96587516I can flex a ragged half chewed black lotus with my bb guns.
>>96587352>two more weeks, bro
>>96587538I'm going to be playing my Blind Second Grass Dragon Link shitbrew until the day I die.
>pre-release attendance for spider-man ends up poorIs Marvel able to pull from ongoing contract if these sets are performing this badly in future?Captcha: MTG8
>>96587596No, they're probably already made. Why would they, anyway?
>>96587596I wonder how og magic players feel about it. I got in late, it was already messy and commercialized but these big name cashgrab collabs, it looks so fucking over. Brand name, addiction, sunk cost fallacy and gambling will always keep magic alive but at what cost.I just wish to see the most insane blood boiling collabs. Give me labubu the gathering.
>>96587596If it's actually true, imagine what'll happen with avatar
>>96587638>>96587596Just a cashgrab. Its shit, they know it, we know it. It sells, thats all that matters. Soon they will honeydick the whole fandom with powercards and insane rares.
>>96587186Just become another player who doesn't play Pioneer
>>96587596Mark's gonna eat some serious shit if they end up living the exact problems he said blocks used to have with Marvel, the one exception he allowed purely out of fanboyism.
>>96587651>SoonA card stronger than Black Lotus and Ancestral Recall put together was printed in 2020.
>>96587596I really hope every single UB set flops from onwards so they can see this fucking UB trash was a mistake. Avatar in two months? Hope crash very hard 2 more sets of Marvel on the pipe line? What? 4 fantastics? Avengers? Both garbage that i hope burn like a sun. TNMT? God i would really laugh but that will not even need my prays to fail.
>mfw the bearscape card is a real cardwtf
is just me or hearthstone is doing far better than mtg? if true why is this?
>>96587878>is just me or hearthstone is doing far better than mtg?they have the inverse problem, the most recent hs set is so garbage (even after buffs) that the meta is basically just a bunch of decks from last expansion or olderhearthstone is closer to being dead than it has ever been in the past
>>96587186>No Inverter >No my wifeYou lost me chief.
>>96587878My understanding is all the popular card games are facing issues right now:Hearthstone:I hear performance issues make the game literally unplayable, even if you like the meta.Yugioh:'No new players' problem. Gameplay involves 10-minute unskipable cutscenes, which the new pushed Maliss deck is guilty of.Pokemon:Pokescalpers in Pokeinvestors make obtaining product more difficult and expensive than it needs to be (although not as bad as it used to be I think)Lorcana:Game is facing existensial crisis because the playerbase cannot comprehend what 'rotation' isMagic:Universes Beyond Slop, support for 60-card competetive formats vanishing in favour of supporting casual Commander play.
>>96587878Not at all, HS has been on a steady decline as well. Most of the genre is, it's only new flavor of the month shit getting any popularity but they die out quickly too.
Where the hell can you play this format?
>>96587992On a kitchen table with an IRL friend you conscripted into playing with you.

>>96588299not a reel elf wyboi
>we commin for dat elven pussy, elfboy
>>96587040>TQ>without making it feel redundantProbably not possible, considering everything they've already done with permanents (creating a permanent someone else has to defend was the last thing left to be done). The best thing I can come up with is maybe something like a day-night cycle card type (e.g., Shift type), that applies in a similar way to triba- I mean kindred where it's in addition to another card type, except instead of adding additional subtypes, it just means that you transform the card to the other side each upkeep. You'd have to add a bunch of rules that couldn't fit on the card to do this, but the basic idea would be that it's always on the front side during your turn and always on the back side during your opponent's turn, which would make it way easier to track than something like daybound/the werewolf mechanic.
>>96588518>ayo, where da elvish women at?!
DAS RITE!!
>>96587596It depends if it was Marvel who paid Wotc to make sets to promote their brand or if it was Wotc who paid Marvel to use the IP. In the first case they couldn't probably pull out unless the sell were really abysmal but it will probably prevent them to do further colab in the second why would they care? It's Wotc who paid nearly everything and Marvel still get their part of the profit so it's basically free money for them. And since we know Wotc couldn't get the right for Arena the most obvious option is that it was wotc who paid to be able to use the IP but not enough to have the right to use it in digital form.
>>96587040i would mage a mixture of battles and sagas you have to defend, so you can have realyy effects each turn because you have to defend the card
>>96588518>>96588676Mmmm what's more embarassing? Hot Dog Cart, City Pigeon, Parker's Camera or completely change a main character and put it in cards like this just for the sake of inclusion?
>>96588299give that girl a cheeseburger godamn
>>96588838>combining them all into one card, stamping a number on the picture, then selling it for ten times the normal price
>>96588838at least with city pidgeon, hotdog cart and balge and schmear, the MTG Art director will not tell a completly made up sobstory as his motivation...it is not so much the fact that they made aragorn black but the insufferable embarrasing opinions lies they tell.....
redditors claim it is too much work to fake mtg cards, almost impossible and requires insane technical knowledge and investment. I think thats bullshit. I will flood this fake market with no survivors.I am 100% sure many of my cards are fakes. Nobody said anything about them ever. I am addicted to frustrating wallet warriors with cheap decks I copied from youtubers. I use cheap decks, and even cheap cards often look and feel fake. I bet most of the 5-20bucks card market filled with fakes.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/gXa0IWY5E2Ypop mart labubu cards are here. I wish I could fight with them.
>>96588676ban this nigga
>>96589014Redditors are just dumb, likely humanities majors. If it was too technical to make perfect replicas, there wouldn't be printing houses that mass produce cards in the first place. All you have to do is know what makes an MTG card a "real" card and to be able to program a press to make the press do that and have a press capable of doing that. Insane technical knowledge my ass.
>>96588838these fantastic ideas brought to you by: a brown dei hire.>Sharkeesha, how many spiderman cards have you made?>Zero. Boss, this magic thang is too complicated this wasnt in my job description.>Atleast try to make a few.4 weeks later:>Boss I made these. Hot Dog Cart, City Pigeon, Parker's Camera. Look I got a Ferry™ too.
>>96589198some nerd came along and written a novel on colors and how you cant replicate them without being a phd expert.
>>96589247They have people who don't even have bachelor's degrees working the printers...
>>96589014>>96589198It is exceptionally difficult to manufacture perfect fakes AT SMALL SCALE. Offset printing is a capital-intensive process that uses built-for-purpose machinery to produce larges volumes of identical printings with very fine detail. If you've ever checked for the red dot with a jeweler's loop, that's what I'm talking about. Home printers aren't capable of that kind of precision placement of ink, because their design purpose is to be able to print small volumes of anything without downtime to re-tool the whole machine for your next print job. Making perfect forgeries requires setting up a Carta Mundi factory of your own, and that's a little outside the budget of most counterfeiters.
>>96589287So just buy an offset printing machine. I'm sure you can get back the $30-50k investment by selling off one near mint alpha black lotus you just printed on ebay.
>>96589284im pretty sure the printers in china are operated by people with only elementary school.replicating is what needs an expert. with these black lotis around one would think they already making 99% forgeries.
>>96589014Redditors don't know shit and the ones that do aren't going to talk about it there. The honest truth is that most people can't spot a counterfeit in most real life cases, even with mediocre chinkshit fakes. And then you've got the near perfect fakes that have been trickling into the secondary market for YEARS and gone virtually unnoticed. Or at least no one's been willing to speak up about it. This is basically the only place I've really seen people mention it. Half of it is WotC's own fault, since they've let print quality go to shit, as if they were trying to meet the counterfeiters halfway. It's gotten to the point where, if they really took it seriously and figured out how to consistently spot the near-perfect counterfeits, they'd end up disqualifying half of the people who've bought singles online within the past 6 years. But they'll never take it seriously because if they did, it would destroy the secondary market and probably take the game down with it.

I have never bought a MTG booster. I used to play with some cards I got secondhand and singles. How do the bloomburrow basic lands work? They are all full art ones, so each booster comes with one of them?
>>96589470https://mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Play_Booster
I don't even want to go back to Lorwyn anymore. Not when the elves are brown girlbosses and the kithikin are gay.
>>96589470Yes in Bloomburrow's case. Most sets will have a split between normal and full art, and some (particularly 3-color limited environments) will have a chance of swapping the basic for a 2-color common.
>>96587636I started around Lorwyn, me and the other older players at my store kinda treated spooderman like a un set. In that context it is fun, just something for a lark. Lot of giggling and jokes. None of us really bought any product outside of the previous release buy in; the only base version card of value is soul stone.
>>96589597Gwenom is really good actually
>>96589287How many failed prints do you think it takes to get one right?
>>96589621Playable, yes. Valuable, no. Base is $20 dude, once the hype dies down it'll be $10 or less.Llanowar elves is extremely playable, still a 50 cent card lol.
If this guy isn't still viable in Modern or Legacy, JotC really fucked up hard.

>>96589877I promise you he'll make a comeback after they ban tamiyo, until then, I think there's no reason to play him unless you're a diehard delver player, those guys perform some dark magic and they always have the perfect combination of stilfe/wasteland/daze against you
>>96589983Gonna need a cutter and pre-emptive Vivi ban too.
>>96589877Lmao haven’t you heard about FIRE design hobo? Your beloved Delver is not even Standard playable, imagine eternal formats.
