Amphoreus' story didn't hit me as hard as it was supposed to. As someone who actually went through the entire story of HI3 before release and loved it, nothing in Amphoreus hit the same notes, especially when you compare the Chrysos Heirs directly to the original Flame-Chasers, and how much more emotional and tragic their story was. The early parts were especially awful, drowning you in insanely boring exposition and no plot progression worth a damn (although it did get better eventually). It wasn't the worst story so far, that honor definitely belongs to space China still, but it felt less interesting than Penacony or Belobog.The gameplay is just... meh. I never was into it in the first place, but the crazy overreliance on expensive, strict teamcomps and LCs drained pretty much all fun out of it. Endgame content can't be cheesed, you have to be very specific about your comps. So I slapped together two teams, with Phainon and Castorice, and they're doing pretty much everything on auto for me. And what they can't auto, I don't give a shit about. That's as far as gameplay goes in this game.Of course, the biggest embarrassment was the Fate collab. That was probably the lowest point for the entire game so far. Something so hyped up for an entire year turned out to be a wet fart of a shitty boring story with almost no VO and reused assets up the ass, while Saber herself got upstaged in gameplay by the free fucking 4*. Everything about that shit was awful.Overall, HSR's biggest saving grace for me is that it's simply not demanding. The updates are not very frequent, so you don't feel overwhelmed, and dailies take seconds if you ignore the time you spend alt+tabbed while the game plays itself. That's why I still play it. But I definitely enjoy both Genshin and ZZZ more, both in gameplay and story.
